It has been 5 years since I had last made a review for La Salon and I am still impressed. After moving to Northern California for college, I had a hard time finding a hair stylist that knows how to cut and color Asian hair. And now that I am finally back, I thought I should try La Salon again since I grew up with Pat cutting and coloring my hair. During my consultation, I showed him a picture of what I wanted and he mentioned that since I already have some color on my hair, it will be difficult to achieve the color I desire unless I bleach my hair. I have bleached my hair before annnnnd I have decided not to do that again... It was fun while it lasted, but I enjoy having healthy hair. Soooo, I told Pat that I did not want to bleach my hair and that I would be happy with anything if he can get as close to the color in the picture as possible. I decided to trust him once again annnnnnd I was not surprised. He was able to fulfill my wish! He darken my roots, so by the time my hair starts to grow out, my roots will be less noticeable. He also gave me a chestnut/mocha balayage that blends in well with the hair color I had prior AND he even fixed my awful haircut. First word that comes to mind is WOW!!! Knowledgeable, Friendly (yes, with a capital F), very reasonable pricing, accommodating, and you actually get a bit of a head massage when they wash your hair. I went in yellow and came out ashy blonde.... and my eyebrows- bye bye eyebrow pencils- because they do eye brow tinting too! I stopped going to the salon after too many bad experiences, and Patrick @ La Salon single handedly renewed my faith in the artistry of hair... (he's a genius in other areas of life, as well... just chat with him and you will see what I mean.) My first time trying out La Salon and I was very impressed with how immaculately clean the place is but that's how hair salons should be. I was scheduled with Vivee and she is as sweet as can be. She's awesome at texturing hair and styling. I got a haircut and color at a very reasonable price plus considering I have really long hair. Besides hair, they offer many other services like facials, waxing, mani/pedi and massages which I'll give it a try next time since it's so close to home. They also take walk-ins which is convenient. Parking is available in structure but only 90 mins is free. read more

I received the worst haircut of my entire life here with Pat. My haircut is pretty simple, a clean skin-fade on the sides and the top/beard remains untouched. A fade should be something every barber can do considering how popular it is. Pat on the other hand left me with an uneven bowl cut with patches of hair all over the area that's supposed to be a zero. The haircut was so bad I didn't even get mad, I just laughed. Not only was this a bad haircut but it also felt rushed and is definitely unfinished. Do yourself a favor and never come here if you're looking for a simple men's haircut. If I could give this rating a zero I would, I don't think it even deserves a 1-star. read more

i had regular french tip manicure with ann years ago and it was okay. I went back for gel french manicure and spa pedicure with Ann again. Pros: Ann is super nice. Made sure I'm comfortable Very gentle She doesn't rush Nice hand and foot massage Cons: Took forever. Was there for 2 hours for gel manicure and spa pedicure. My french tip was not even on one of my fingernails. When i requested to fix it, She gave me a look. Then she said it will take long because I have to remove the gel on that nail and do all over again. I decided to leave coz it will take another half hour I think. I got a gift certificate for $28 manicure and spa pedicure. They charged me extra $15 for gel? Clear and pink polish is not applied nicely. I still gave her a tip because she is really nice, but will not be back for manicure. read more

I've been coming to La Salon for over a year now, and realized that I had failed to write a review. I always find it easy to get an appointment and always have a great experience. Pat is excellent with my color and cut. He's always happy to make adjustments and doesn't try to oversell on unnecessary services or products. He prides himself on his work and loves to help his clients look their best! Everyone is very friendly and there's always coffee available. The salon is clean, professional, and each stylists spends quality time getting to know their clients. I love their Aveda products, too! I've gotten so many compliments over the past few days-- just like every time Pat has done another miracle on me-- I figure it's long past time to leave a review. I've been coming here for about 2 years; I'm a blonde with fine hair (but tons of it) and seven (7!) cowlicks!, who regularly alternates between wide variations on my own color, and every shade of red under the sun. Pat, the salon owner, is an absolute treasure; he's not only kept up with my impulses very cheerfully, he's also not hesitated to steer me goodnaturedly away from anything that might damage my hair. He's not in it for the money; he works, as he recently put it, "from my heart," and it shows. He's got mad skillz but he also has great artistic instincts: he has suggested things I would never thought of (this time, very very subtle ombré + balayage)... but he's so laid back about it, never pushy. I've come to trust his "eye" implicitly. Along with sublime color Pat has given me the most feminine, gorgeous, flattering cuts for my face shape. I'm 55 and I have never felt more beautiful in my life. I also just love the salon itself; most salons I've ever been to are not relaxing. This place is. From the very first time I came here it's felt like hanging out in a friend's living room, just laid-back (like Pat!), friendly, informal... and social-- I've ended up having great rollicking discussions with total strangers, both clients and stylists, with lots of good humor and laughter. I can't remember ever laughing at a salon before. But it's just that kind of place. People often drop in, long time clients, just to chat and bond even if they're not getting their hair done that day. First of all, I came to La Salon because of Doris. She helped me fix a bad haircut (from another salon I will not name) and it was such a great experience and a relief. I was happy that I got her cell number before she left the other salon to work at La Salon and what fortune that she did! La Salon is nicely placed (by shopping and good eats so you can spend the day after having your hair done and maybe a facial). It's also clean and everyone that I encountered have been friendly and helpful. I also found out that they do gel polish manicures for $20! That's huge to me. Doris is simply the best hairdresser I've had here in California (I'm from the east coast). I trust her judgment and her suggestions. I trust that she will be honest with me, which is very important. I guess I should be thankful that the hairdresser before her wasn't so truthful because that's how I found Doris. Doris is also my husband's hairdresser. He's very picky when it comes to that stuff, and it actually means a lot that he left AVEDA to go to Doris. I've never gotten a facial before, but Doris is amazing. I love this salon. It's clean, everyone is friendly, and it offers many different options that I don't normally see in a salon, such as facials and so on. I have only ever been for haircuts and color. As I'm impressed with the haircut and color, if I were to do a facial or any of the other treatments, I'd be sure to try it here first. I'm so glad that Vivee chose to move here! I had Vivee as a stylist before and when she came here, I chose to follow. Vivee helped me with a cut that flattered my face and hair texture. Over a couple of visits, I went from mid-back length to a shoulder-brushing cut to a chin-length cut. Each time, I left looking amazing. The confidence I had in her skills as a hairstylist allowed me to make bolder hair-style moves than perhaps normal. I knew that it would look good and while she would listen to what I would want, she would figure in my hair texture and my hairstyling manner (lo-lo maintenance). She would always greet me with a friendly smile and would be gently social. (I'm not the type who gossips while getting my hair done. Quiet time is just fine with me) Vivee intuitively picked this up. Every single visit was perfectly comfortable. When my mom was in town, I'd bring her in and it was always a job well done. I went in for a walk-in on Sunday (I was told it's usually appointment-only but it was empty so no harm done) and I was greeted by Erein, who is an absolute sweetheart!! I only needed a simple wash and trim with my hair. Lots of product tends to work against my red color and make it look oily. Erein just washed, cut, and took her time to really add volume and flow to my hair when drying. Honest to goodness, it hadn't looked this healthy in MONTHS. Very satisfied with my haircut, it was a tiny bit shorter than I wanted but I'll be coming back because it looks really great. I have been getting my hair cut here for about 4 years now and I absolutely adore Vivee's work. I get it cut with her every time that I have gone. I don't regularly cut my hair but the couple times in a year that I do, I go to Vivee at La Salon. Once I explain what I want, he does just that. Vivee takes care of every strand of hair on my head. She always gives me the exact hairstyle I want and she even styles It for me adterwards and shows me how I can easily style it on a day to day basis. Vivee is extremely sweet and professional. Excellent service, very friendly and accomodating. The place is very clean and professional. I had the Delux Spa Pedicure...oooh so nice. It's the works of a pedicure...plus they put paraffin and massage and exfolliate your feet...while sitting in a massage chair. I'm can't wait for my next visit. I also had my hair cut, I dont remember her name but she was wonderful (Egyptian lady) and took great care of me and my hair. I left there feeling like a queen, with a spring in my step. My daughter got a hair cut, conditioning and hair color and a manicure..... Glad we found this place, will be back again soon. We both left there...."looking & feeling good" . The parking isnt bad either, you get 90 minutes free in the complex about 10 feet from the salon. Next time I think I'll be trying the "reflexology of hands and feet" for $10 or maybe the "Hands and Feet massage reflexology for 45 minutes for $45.....and maybe I should get that hair on my chinny chinny chin waxed off.... I purchased a facial through KGB deals. When calling La Salon to set up an appointment on a day I'm off, (a saturday, which they say on their website they are open) I got the run around about how they don't take KGB deals on certain days and then they bashed KGB deals. The guy who answered the phone said that they lose money on the KGB deals. I'm thinking, then why the *** did you become a part of the deal? And I believe it's the merchant's responsibility to list the "fine print" such as what days they honor the deal. I did not get the service I purchased, but complained to KGB and they reimbursed my purchase. So, have no idea how good this salon is if you are going as a regular paying customer. But at this point, I most likely will not even try them out due to poor customer service. read more
