This place is inside the Nugget Mall next to sportsman's warehouse. The prices are great and cheaper then the rest in town. However you have to wait 15 minutes for your food. Either order and visit one of the near by stores while you wait or you can call in your order. By the time you leave the house and get there your food will be waiting. This is not a place for fast food but it is done right. The staff was friendly, the kitchen is a open kitchen, everything was clean, and the food was a great value. The tamale was massive, no grainy texture, fluffy, and with a creamy sauce that compliments it nicely. The classic hard tacos are overstuffed with more toppings then you know what to do with but very nicely done. The super burrito was layered perfectly with a even amount in every bite. It was very consistent and enjoyed the rice much more then the competition here. The flavor is perfectly neutral so if you don't like spice then you will love this place but if you do like spice or extra meat they provide the option to add on. I will be the very first one to admit that I am very, VERY picky when it comes to Mexican food. It's due to being raised in Colorado and Southern Wyoming where with some research you can find some real Mexican restaurant gems. I struggled with this cuisine by moving to the Pacific Northwest as nobody knew what Green Chile was... sorry NOT the same as Chile Verde. As I found out Green Chile is more of a dish or garnish where it's homed almost exclusively in these parts of the southwest (and New Mexico, Texas and Arizona). So with that said I wasn't too sure what to expect when it came to visiting Alaska. I felt like I got mixed results which is better than completely negative results on my visit. Loved the fish tacos in Juneau! La Salsa is inside the Nugget Mall. It's one of the handful of retail tenants here in this small shopping mall. It seems very popular with the customers as orders were always being placed and picked up. I got the cheese enchiladas with rice and beans. I didn't think my dish was too bad but did feel it was a bit bland and didn't have much spice to it. The portions however are generous and the service is friendly and helpful.. all good marks there. Maybe I should have ordered something else to get that spice and heat I was looking for but I'm not so sure I would have been successful. We did also order chips and salsa and those were good. The pico de gallo was fresh and tasty but from my experience this appetizer is a real tease and the actual meal may not carry over the tastiness you get from the chips and salsa. read more

I've been going to this place for more than ten years and never been disappointed. Prices are good, food is consistently good and I think the same owner this entire time. I lived in Arizona 54 years before moving to Juneau so Mexican food is a staple for me. I typically eat in the mall dining area which I don't mind at all. read more

Being from New Mexico, I was a little skeptical. But...this place has a cute environment (in the "food court" area of the mall), fast, friendly staff, and even do phone in orders. The pico was a little spicy which is good, fresh guacamole, and perfect portion. This is a restaurant inside the Nugget Mall. There is no food court in the mall, so this and another restaurant are just part of the storefronts. The service was good, the food was excellent and very low-priced. We were there for a Sunday lunch and there were quite a few people. Seating is just a batch of tables and chairs sort of scrounged together. Very low-key, but very good food. I wish I'd taken a photo of the tacos I had. They were excellent! read more
