One of the best, if not THE best, Mexican food is n Juneau. Authentic. I eat here as often as I can.

Watch about 20 people come after me get served. Over an hour and a half with out food or refills on drinks. Never again.

The staff are friendly but not attentive at all. Everything on the menu is exactly the same except changing the protein and it's blan. There's no flavor. Latin culture is all about spices and flavor but this establishment has yet to connect with the essence of the cuisine. If there ever was a time to step up and make improvements it would be now because people are looking for something unique to get them out of their house after COVID. I love coming here for pozole! The soup itself is always consistently good. The accoutrements/plating varies wildly though. Sometimes I get just the soup and a couple of chips on the side, other times I get the soup, a plate of chips, chopped onion, oregano, lime, lettuce/cabbage, and radish. Don't go in with a big group of people. The wait was dreadful. Came here once for dinner. The locals said this was the perfect spot for Mexican Food so we decided to give it a try. It was a nice place, very clean with cool Mexican props. The staff was friendly and our server was very attentive. I felt like he went out of his way numerous times. However, the food was not that great. I don't think I could ever eat here again. I'm used to real authentic Mexican food. I felt very disappointed specially because the staff was Hispanic and I feel they failed with some of their food options. Our party of 5 and our relative that lives in Juneau felt like they can do better. The carnita tacos tasted old, my mole and green sauce enchiladas were nasty. I felt I was eating sauce out of a can. The mole was just awful and believe me when I say awful. We make our mole from scratch at home and this didn't taste anything like authentic mole. When this food van first opened up, the tacos were excellent! I loved walking to Foodland to get them for lunch or take home for dinner. However, for the past 3 visits, their quality and quantity has gone south...I just ordered my usual three taco dorados and for the 3rd time in a row, the meat was overcooked or leftover from the past week. The waiter there told us that they had gotten many complaints about the service and had since gotten rid of some people. I've been there 4 times since they moved into the building (they're still cooking out of the taco truck until they renovate the kitchen). I would give them five stars but I have some constructive criticism: -Iceberg lettuce instead of cabbage in the pozole is kinda lame. Also, I know that Juneauites are generally unfamiliar with pozole, but I'd prefer the fixins to ber served on the side and for this dish to be served with corn tortillas. -the last time I went there there was this guy at the front desk who dressed like he was on a smoking break from his job at a natural food store. Anyway, he had kindof an attitude and was rude to one of the new staff in front of customers. She was clearly trying to do her best and he was clearly having a moment. After trying their wonderful halibut ceviche at seafood fest I wanted to see what else they had to offer. I selected the grilled halibut taco plate and was not disappointed. Two soft tacos with plenty of halibut and other toppings. If there was anything else added I would not have been able to pick it up. The tacos were topped by flavorful sauces and accompanied by a lime wedge which created a harmony of flavors in my mouth.
