Tasty burger but they charge TOO much. They also ran out of onions - come on man, a good burger has got to have onion on it.

I had just arrived in Juneau where I'd flown up to the help my captain husband take an adventure yacht back to Seattle after a season in SE. I was tired, having gotten up at 3 to get to the airport, and hungry after virtually no breakfast. We happened to see this little purple food truck and it looked like something to try, since we both like BBQ. The pulled pork sandwich was recommended to us, so we ordered one to share. NOT really big enough to share. Came with chips, so for us it kind of felt like a desperation meal. I didn't expect fine dining, by any means, but sometimes the food trucks have the BEST food going. I guess I should have read the reviews first because it seems like burgers are the way to go. All in all, it was tasty, but not overly so. If I find myself there again next season, I'm definitely going to try the burger. read more

Pucker Wilson's is one of the food trucks located in a cool area in downtown Juneau where there are several food trucks and picnic benches and table seating in an outdoor venue. We were visiting our friends that live in Juneau and they brought us here for a meal. Apparently this space is pretty new and mostly locals hang out here. There are many food truck choices at this place, but the burgers at the "can't miss it purple" Pucker Wilson's truck were great! I'm glad our local friends told us without hesitation. The burgers really hit the spot. Make sure you order fries if you want them, they don't come with the burgers. You place your order at the truck and they give you a buzzer that lets you know to come and get your food. It can get crowded so it would be good the have someone snag a table while you order. read more

Upon reading about local things to try, I remembered that a reindeer dog was listed. As we wandered around Juneau I saw a sign for it. Having already scarfed down a late lunch, I decided to give it a try. They had a nice purple food truck. And hey, Guy Fieri was pictured with the staff. Lastly, the menu was a good sized. It provided variety, while keeping it simple. Alp I wanted was that reindeer dog. I waited about 10min for it, which worked out well since I had just eaten. Staff was super nice, and soon it was time for my dog. Bun was soft. It was served with mustard and grilled onions. The reindeer dog tasted just fine. I tried one of the lunch specials and as usual the fries are charred as well as saturated in grease. I believe this is why they always drown them in toppings. The sauce was not bad, creamy and not grainy. The patty was great and obviously the star of this plate but it was sat on a slice of bread that was a poor choice. The bread was rubbery and very chewy. On the up side the service was fast! I believe they do need to work on the seating. Although it is outside due to being a food truck, I believe a trash can would be nice so people can throw away their meal plates. Seating is also currently lacking. read more

Went to the stand in Deckhand Dave's outdoor food court. Holy heck, this is up there with the best burger I've ever had. I ordered the cheeseburger and added bacon. I can't recommend it enough! Oh pucker Wilsons, how I love you so ! Pucker Wilson is one of the only place that I will ever buy a burger in Juneau being a southern girl born raised in Alabama. They have the best burgers freaking down. The special brisket they make on occasion I would sell my soul for that brisket. It is so good yeah that's little dramatic but it's true. It is absolutely incredible. The owner is super kind, and all of his employees are absolutely incredible. I've never had a bad experience with any of them. If my orders ever been wrong, they promptly fix it. On Christmas they do free burgers for whoever comes and I think that's absolutely incredible of them. What a hidden gem! It's located in a super random location (as an out of town we, at least), but enough off the beaten path to not be too busy or crowded. We went in the day that the Frisco melt was the special and OH MY GOD! So good! This would be dangerous if I lived here because I think I would have to come back over and over to taste everything. I decided to try Pucker Wilson after the locals raving about the food. I decided to follow the food truck located less than a mile away. They display daily specials and today the special was a slow-cooked pork shoulder with a jalapeno and pineapple relish but my sandwich looks nothing like the sandwich on FB. I was not impressed with the sandwich. I also ordered the 3-way fries, which consisted of sweet potato, regular potatoes, and roasted Brussel sprouts, they were banging. I may have had a high expectations. I would still refer others to Pucker Wilson. They are a food truck preparing delicious food. When you eat here, you might not notice that the clouds part and the sunbeams are shining down on this little food truck, but that's becuase you're too engrossed in the food being shoveled into your face!! They definitely know what the tastedbuds want, and they deliver on every level. The key is to follow them on Facebook for their daily specials, but beware, if you're not from here like me, it's complete torture, knowing what others are enjoying!! Legit lunchtime food truck! Came here on a blustery rainy day in november for some gut busting chow. I went with the fried chicken sandwich which was delicious. Nice crispy crust. Ample side of fries were perfect with my sandwich. Guys working the truck recognized that my companion and i were obviously not true alaskans as we were shivering in the rain so they told us to wait in our truck and they would bring the food out to us! I give this one star with great hesitancy, for I know it brings down the average. However, I had the unfortunate experience of ordering fries. The cashier was rushed and came off that way. Sheesh lady I'm not ordering crack. Then there's no place to wait for food if you walk up, that is out of the rain, or drivers who blast in at high speeds. The fries tasted like the fry oil was expired and that's all too common for this small town. When I get a batch of waste oil fries from an establishment I usually wait years to try again. I've never had a bad experience with Pucker Wilson's. I love the Huskey Dawson and sweet potato fries. Their valley location has a drive-thru, which is great during this pandemic! We went today and were happy to hear that 20% of proceeds this week are going to disaster relief for the Haines mudslides. We threw in an extra order of fries and added a big tip because the guy walked our order all the way over to our car through the pouring rain storm. I've only had the triple fries & they were GREAT. Basket of French fries, sweet potato fries & fried Brussels sprouts. their fry sauce.

After a couple of tries of making it through the drive thru correctly we finally got to order. My wife being a born and raised Chicagoan wanted to try the Italian beef. I thought it was great and the beef was very flavorful. My wife's only critique was the beef could've been sliced a little thinner. Other than that she liked it a lot. The Husky Dawson is probably the best thing on the menu followed by pulled pork. The food is good but they can definitely work on their customer service. The menu has no description of what comes in each burger so they definitely shouldn't roll their eyes, get irritated when you ask what the burger has in it, or give you a sarcastic answer. I prefer the helical fries from the Wild Alaskan in the orange food truck across from Costco (they are often out of this product and serve inferior crinkle cut fries instead, but when they have these crispy-outside-tender-inside gems, they are some of the best anywhere). read more

2 pulled pork tacos for $6 is a great deal! My husband and I went on a Food Truck Friday so they're open until 7 pm. They were really nice when I said I didn't like mayonnaise and even remade my order when I didn't care for the pucker sauce (all mayo). However my mayonnaise-loving husband loved the sauce! Pucker Wilson's; What can I say?!? Let's see hmm Great burger and Good food at a reasonable price for Juneau! Toasted buns, delicious fesh flame broiled hamburger patty, fesh veggies and with there oh so yummy Puckers house sauce! Then the fries!! It is refreshing to finally have a place in town that understands the importants of hand cuts and the process of double frying there fries! Plus the added kick of sea salt and rosemary is a nice addition! The tacos are a awesome snack. Two yummy tacos with house sauce and fresh veggies can never go wrong!! Be on the look out for the delicious daily specials, I recommend the ribs or Gyro when available. After being told from a few friends to try Pucker Wilson's I decided to give it a try. I ordered a hamburger, french fries and pork tacos to share. Sadly, none of the food was very exceptional. The pork tacos were acceptable, although the combination of barbecue sauce and Mexican flavor was unusual (clearly the pulled pork is the same as the pulled pork sandwich and is probably better suited for that purpose). The hamburger wasn't anything amazing and you can get better at Hot Bite in Auke Bay. The fries were soggy, greasy and covered in a bit too much salt. All dishes, regardless of what you order, are covered in their special sauce, which, if I had to guess, appears to be a mixture of mayo, BBQ sauce, chopped onions, and seasoned salt. The best thing were the ample selections of manufactured sauces available, but they can't really take responsibility for that other than purchasing them. My friends tried the hot dog which cost them $4.00 and appeared to be overcooked Costco dogs. Prices and service were otherwise average. A nice first try for Juneau, but the food truck craze is booming around the country for a reason and Juneau deserves to see more of what that craze is really about. read more
