    Inside the Philly Cheesesteak.
    George L.

This is a new spot in Juneau, so I had to try it out. Upon first glance I immediately noticed the high price for a sandwich but I thought to myself I am expecting the best sandwich ever for this price. The staff was very friendly and this is located in the same spot as the beloved Deckhand Dave's but there is no seating. My order came fairly fast which was great! I was handed a paper bag with the foot long inside of it. When I sat down to eat I immediately noticed the sandwich was cut in half then laid down on two separate pieces of paper and wrapped with the cut in the middle... this is a potential for disaster if you are not aware. I suggest they just wrap it in one large paper and send it. As for the food here is a few notes... Dill spear soggy and mild pickle taste with skin slightly crunchy. The bread is hoagie style, texture is slightly rubbery due to the moisture. I suggest lightly toasting the bread. The meat is cooked well done but is thinly sliced so it is tender but absent of any seasoning whatsoever. The caramelized onions needed a touch longer for that brown color and caramelized taste. These onions were mostly translucent. The cheese is thin so it melted well with the meat. The sandwich is on the lite side for grease which is great. Personally I think the sandwich needs a touch of salt like any beef because it brings out the flavors. It would also benefit from bell peppers as well as roasted red peppers. Would I recommend this establishment? I would say it is worth a try but I hope my review might assist you in making your own educated decision.

    Cheesesteak

Awesome cheesesteaks, fresh sliced ribeye and perfectly caramelized onions on an Amoroso roll.

Philly Cheesesteak and some bell peppers So delicious

Mexican coke and a red wine perfected the meal. Thanks to the fantabulous staff of the bar and the grill. We will be back soon. I want to try the lamb gyro and partner wants a burger. Yum yum and so very affordable! Huge portions filled us ! And a cozy place to sit!

We were hungry for "something" but not a meal, per se. Asking around, we were directed to Imperial Grill. Very happy to find it. Yes, the bar had everything, and we did have some hard cider, but paid for the bar items at the bar, with the food vendor running a separate register. The grill menu is great. Look at it. Baskets ($8 - 10) of fries, chicken tenders, jalapeno poppers. An after school special ($2.75) is mozzarella, bacon and jalapenos fried in an egg roll wrapper with sriracha sour cream. Go for it! Mexican flair ($5 - 16) with burritos, enchiladas, quesadillas, nachos and taquitos. Also an array of tacos ($2.75 - 6). Sandwiches and burgers ($~8) looked good. Very local in ambiance and everyone is very friendly. Keep this in mind when you are just looking for something good to eat, with or without a beverage.

Just like everyone else, we came here after the cruise docked, we were amount the first one to get off the ship and were able to get here right the way without much wait. As we sitting down for our food the line grew much longer. There is also a second location that has less wait. We ordered the Red King Crab that's feeds 6-8 people, if you like crab it will feed like 4 lol, the crab tasted sweet and fresh. Also bisque tasted amazing. But this place is expensive, we paid almost $800 for it. Is it worth it? I will say if you are the first time in Alaska you should try it. Will I do it again? Yes if we have the budget to, but I will ordered the small amount and other things. We have a large group that is why is so much more expensive. I have a great experience at this restaurant, the service from the staff is excellent and they really know what they are doing. If you have the budget to come here, try it, it is once in a lifetime experience.

All in all not impressed and bit disappointed. Garlic sweet bread was awesome .

We got the "First Mate Plate" @ $33.99 (combo of fresh halibut & salmon), and (2) Halibut Tacos @ $26.99 + substituted the rice & beans for a cup of chowder:$4.50. This was so good, we came back the 2nd night and got the same thing! We were a party of 2 - 1st night had reservations and got seated right away; 2nd night walked in and got seated after a 5-minute wait. I think it's the larger parties that have to deal with the long wait or we were just lucky. Call in for reservations regardless. Noisy & busy but good food & good service.

After years of searching, I have found the best onion rings and calamari, right here in Juneau…read more It's a huge plate of crispy calamari with tartar and cocktail sauce. A lot of places have shrunk their calamari serving size down and serve it with an aioli that isn't always great. The basket of onion rings were crisp and hot with the right texture. I know it's frozen but it's the old fashioned onion rings that many places have changed the breading or undercooked or overcooked. Employees are very nice here. Our server was so nice. She checked on us a few times and refilled our drinks. We also had the one pound Alaskan king crab legs. It was just the way I remembered having it when restaurants used to serve Alaskan king crab legs. They're super fat meaty long legs. It was warmed up and served with lemon and butter. It was just enough for two of us. It probably would not have fed my son. He is a big eater and he would have ordered a steak. If I was hungry or had a crab craving, it might not have been enough for just me. We've also been over eating on a cruise ship for 6 days. We shared the apple crisp ala mode for dessert. It was not crisp but it did have some crumbs thrown on top like a cobbler. It was in a warm sauce and topped with ice cream. It's a cute place with a wharf view. The tables are not on top of each other. They gave us plenty of napkins and a bib too. If I lived in the area, I would be back every month for the calamari & onion rings, and yes the crab legs. The Diet Coke was perfect too, just enough syrup and carbonation. I would definitely come back if I was in the area.
