This is to talk about food safety,and the lack of management and care for the customer. because the food it self does taste good. On January 14th my wife and I came in to eat, tacos of course, and on her 2nd or 3rd bite, she started coughing, I thought it might be the hotsauce, but it got worst and worst, and she said she felt like she had swallowed something and was stuck, she got up went to the rest room for what seemed like an eternity, and she finally came out, to make a long story short, we ended going to the ER, because she said that something was stuck in her throat, after a catscan you could see a metal wire about 3cm long, we then had to drive to the hospital where an endoscopy was performed to extract the metal wire, we reached out and spoke to Manager Mr. Sosa at Salsa Verde restaurant, and were told we would hear back in 3 days have not gotten one call from them, I called them and spoke to Manager Lisa, no last name given,and she was rude and combative at the end of the call she stated do whatever you want and hung up on me. So if you go here to eat, be careful and check your food because you never know what you might get, management is non existant. I hope the owner of this place reaches out pronto! read more

Just when I thought I had found my favorite taco place, a new contender comes into play just down the street. La Salsa Verde makes excellent street tacos in so many varieties. The tacos de cabeza (beef head) , cachete (beef cheek) and tacos de lengua (tongue) are my favorite. Seriously give these a try, the beef is so flavorful and tender that carne asada tacos just can't compare. Their salsas are great, I mix the green and red since I can't decide which I like more. They have an app that you can order online and pick up as this place gets busy. I call ahead and my order is ready within 10 min. Excellent must try tacos!!! read more

I have to admit that it's pretty authentic, but just being authentic does not a great place make. It's in a gas station, which is kinda cool, but if you are looking for a sit-down place, this is not it. There is a tiny counter that can handle about three people. They definitely speak Spanish, so if tu no hablas español, then this place isn't for you. There are limited English translations on the menu board, so brush on your Spanish beforehand. As for the food... it was good, but it wasn't great. I'll admit that there was no fuss about it, so if that's your bag, then perhaps this place IS for you, but if you like your food to be served with love or at least some artful consideration, then I'd look elsewhere for lunch. I ordered a pollo tinga quesadilla and a single fajita taco. The taco was really lacking, and not to be an ass, but to really tell the truth, taco cabana's fajita tacos are WAY BETTER. That makes me sad because I LOVE Mexican and Tex-mex food and always prefer a local place over a chain, but I really had to make that comparison. The quesadilla was okay, but again, great. It was flavorful but totally lacking in finesse of any kind. It was a single whole flour tortilla with some chicken and folded in half. I was hoping for the 2 tortilla quesadilla (know what I mean?), with salsa, guacamole, and sour cream, but it WAS served with a spicy dark green jalapeño sauce and also a lighter green Avocado sauce that were fantastic. Daymmn! Those sauces were the bomb! Gotta give credit where it's due. I could have just eaten those sauces. My mouth was on fire, and it was great! Caliente! I love that! Anyway, the bonus of being in a gas station was that I was able to get a case of Modelo Especial to go home with my sloppy tex-mex food, so it all ended up allright in the end. Just make sure you are ordering what you think you are ordering because we were short two tacos and got a whole box of sautéed onions instead, lol! I gave 1 star because of look my family and I received when we walked in for lunch. Everything in Spanish - menu boards advertisements, signage, etc. We were clearly not welcome there. The boy that took our order acted as if he was offended that we had the audacity to eat at their restaurant in the United States. He refused to answer any questions. I had 3 street tacos, fam had quesadillas because that is all we could decipher. Seeing we were obviously struggling the mangers stood in the doorway watching and listening but did jack to assist, which means they condone and perpetrate this atmosphere of racism. Salsa Verde, you KNOW that I love you. I give you all of my monies and lunch breaks. The Pastor is always great. ....But. it really really sucks to love you so much, only to watch you be terrible. Today the runner (delivering food to the numbers) would rub her itchy eyes, running nose and other face business between every.single.order. Every one. She was obviously being affected by allergies or COVID.....and was practicing the worst hygiene I have ever seen. Everyone was in uniform, well staffed, clean and running quick ticket times....only to have it ruined by the weak link. The health department would have removed her for sure. I love you SO MUCH, but you should know better. The two managers were sitting in the dining room eating lunch, and never once noticed the fatal flaw right in front of them. While I was waiting for my food to be packaged, I looked over at the bar stool seating next to where they pack the To-Go orders, and there was literally someone's social security printed on a sheet of paper with their ID. My husband and I just moved here and we have been searching for delicious tacos and we finally found our go to place. All this place is missing to add to their menu is burrito, rice, and beans. Came here for lunch, my advice is come early because it gets busy. The menu is very large, and very decently priced. Ordered the 4 fajita tacos with quest. They do have drinks but no fountain drinks, so if you want one you have to get a bottled drink. The service was super quick, as soon as the 4 of us sat down is when we all got our orders. The tacos were very good, the meat is really flavorful. I'll say it's more like a brisket style meat, but really moist and feels like they marinate it for a long time. This is one of the better taco joints I've tried in the area. It gets busy at lunch. I've tried asada, carnitas, pastor and chicken tacos. I've also tried the chicken quesadilla. The asada was my least favorite. It was a little overcooked. I wish they put pineapples in the pastor (or maybe it was missing in mine?) My favorite is the carnitas. Authentic Mexican street tacos! This place is so authentic that only 1 worked (owner or manager not sure which he was) spoke English. I was not upset that the person taking my order could not understand me it just excited me more knowing that my food would be good and authentic. I ordered a steak taco, seasoned chicken taco and a steak with cheese tacos. All tacos come with cilantro, radishes, and onions. I had to ask for grilled onions. You get a number and your food is brought to wherever you are sitting. At each table there are 4 bottles of salsa and omg when I say they are flavorful but spicy . I made the mistake of pouring too much on my first taco and I could not eat it due to how spicy it was. My nose was running. So I definitely suggest trying them all out on your finger before crazy with them on your tacos. I've been back already to enjoy these great tacos because again the food is good and so is service and they are open late but they also tend to be busier after 9 especially on weekends. My favorite was definitely the taco with cheese I was disappointed that I only tried 1 there was so much flavor and believe it or not but the chicken was seasoned perfectly. I never order chicken tacos because the meat tends to be dried out and no flavor but the second time I went I decided to give it a chance and I'm glad I did. Their tacos honestly don't even need salsa they are great without. Also the flour tortillas were better than the corn in my opinion.
