1000/10 Wow this taco shop was hands down the best tacos I've had in Texas. It reminded me of my hometown tacos in California. It's a small shop but they get your order out quick. We got there before a line started but we watched the line go down and food get out quickly. Our meal was 26 bucks total for me and my husband, that's incredible. Great prices, AMAZING food, quick service. I can't wait to come back honestly! Take my money!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's a few tables but everyone is in and out fairly quickly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were in there less than 25 mins total, ordering to eating and leaving. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The shop has a great vibe and it's very cool in design![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Can't wait to come back!

Really good spot to come to if you want authentic Mexican tacos. They're small like street tacos but very flavorful! I was surprised they had vegetarian options like the mushroom tacos and even it's really good! I got an order of 3. Probably could've ate 4 but 3 was just enough for me.

Visiting from NC & needed some really great authentic tacos. After visiting the Bazaar across the street, we located this taco spot and decided this was it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Now this place is a VIBE. The moment you walk in, you are transported to little Mexico. Love the slang all over the restaurant, decor & the music immediately made me start dancing while waiting in line.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Tacos are about $2.50 each, amazing considering NC prices, a single taco is $4+. Quesadillas are about $4 and platters can range about $13. Definitely better pricing than NC. They did loose a star though because for this being a taco spot I was VERY disappointed they did not have any tripa or lengua, which i believe are major staples in a taqueria. Either way, ordered carne asada and campechana tacos. Very delicious and we LOVED that they were not greasy! Some tacos, the moment you bite into them, the grease comes immediately out. These were perfect. Definitely recommend this location if you are in the area, you won't regret it. Located in front of the Harry Hines Bazaar and we were able to walk to the taco shop.

Placed an online pick up order. Pretty smooth process. It gets very busy so pick up order is the way to go if you're in a hurry. Pretty tasty tacos!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]From the outside this place looks sketchy as heck. The windows are covered over[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But I was hungry it was "right there" . And needed something to tide me over until dinner. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Walked in and was pleasantly surprised. Clean , orderly and with tacos and beer, what else do you need[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] . Easy to follow menu. Order up front and pay, walk down the line and pick up food. The salsa they had was right there too on the line along with Smokey Serrano peppers . The serving line was fast and the food was way above average . Wish they were closer to me . [[HIGHLIGHT]]The only downside was the Dyson hand dryer in the bathroom wasn't working . I couldn't get to work[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]].

------ Critic's Review ----- Go!!! Great food. This hole in the wall place is pack with a line to the door. The line moves fast and food is ready in just a few minutes. A very organized business. Good portions and customer friendly prices. Fun and simple decor is inviting and upbeat. Staff are very nice and professional. Here is what I ate... Chicken Quesadillas: $4.50 Chicken absolutely delicious and moist, perfectly seasoned, on a 6 inch tortilla. Cheese is a bit thick for me and mostly in the fold, but a good ratio of meet is there too (generous). Score: 8 out of 10 (only because I like less cheese - otherwise it's a 10/10). Street Tacos: $2.50-$2.75 Only has onions & cilantro. Ask for cheese, and more things if desired. Carne Asada Taco: Wonderful! Moist, perfectly cooked, seasoned great and a different flavor than the chicken. Has a tiny bit of heat. Score: 10 out of 10 Pollo Taco: Same delicious chicken as on the quesadilla, but on a taco version. Delicious!! Score: 10 out of 10 I'LL BE BACK!!

Amazingly spicy chips and salsa. Quesadilla had lots of flavor. Tacos were good. Nice and fresh and always sooo busy!! Food was made pretty quick despite being so busy.

Imagine not going to Texas and not eating tacos...couldn't be me! Funny thing is, I've heard Dallas doesn't have great tacos/Mexican food and as someone who isn't from there, I always thought that there's no way that could be true. I'm happy to report that I found some really great tacos. Everything I've ordered was so good and I know for sure that Chilangos is reliable considering it had it back to back days!

The tacos were amazing! They had limited vegan options and definitely good value considering for 3 people we spent under $40 for tacos and dessert for us all. Parking was limited in a plaza but found with ease with the in and out traffic, but back to the food quality. The toppings seemed fresh but the churros wasn't as fresh and seemed as if they had been sitting. Customer service was good and they had sitting for small or large parties but the space was compact with the tables and chairs so close to one another

I honestly love their tacos. I've been to their newer location on Preston but I was in this area so I stopped by to grab some tacos to go! The girl with eyeliner (it looked really good btw I hope she knows that haha) at the register was SO nice. I even told her so because she honestly was so kind & excited with every customer. I saw a review of this place that said negative things about her & I literally could not disagree more. That person was probably rude to her because I don't believe them at all-- she was literally the reason why I'm giving this place 5 stars. Having great employees like her is definitely key to getting customers to return. Food was great like always! The restaurant was clean (she even stopped before taking our order to clean the tables since there was a line of people behind us.) Nice to know customer service still exists out there. Thank you!!!!

I usually hit up the Chilango's Tacos location at the Discovery District (shoutout to my downtown go-to!), but today I found myself near Harry Hines and thought--why not? And wow... I'm glad I did! This little spot may be small in size, but don't let that fool you--it's bursting with BIG, BOLD, mexicano flavor! I dove into their chicken and al pastor quesadillas (both queso-melted masterpieces), and then came the birria tacos... Santo cielo, talk about juicy, tender, and packed with that deep, rich flavor that only comes from true Mexican kitchen magic. The salsas? From mild to spicy, they brought the heat and the flavor. Each one tasted fresh and homemade--like abuelita's secret recipe. And let's not forget the horchata--¡uf! Ice-cold, creamy, freshly made, and just the right amount of sweetness. You can taste the love in every sip of that agua fresca. The staff? Super friendly, welcoming, and full of smiles. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's like walking into a little piece of Mexico--bright colors, upbeat vibes, and food that makes your soul dance a little cumbia.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Chilango's Tacos on Harry Hines is a hidden gem worth discovering. Bring your appetite and your taste for real Mexican flavor. You'll leave full, happy, and already planning your next visit. ¡Viva el sabor auténtico!

From the outside it's small but they have a nice sign and window tint that makes it easy to find. The staff was nice, the menu is simple. I ordered the 3 quesabirria tacos (only on weekends) and 2 asada tacos with a Mexican coke. The food was hot, came out quickly and very very tasty! They do wish the quesabirria ones were bigger but that's only because they are so delicious. The QUESO they used inside the quesabirria tacos has a very authentic flavor. I really enjoyed these. The asada was a bit pale, nothing too exciting but the flavor was very good. They don't seem overly generous with the side of salsas BUT they are delicious. I don't typically like salsa roja but this one was flavorful, I just had to. Would recommend this place (: and the wall art was just too cool to look at

Stopped by to grab a quick bite at Chilangos Tacos, the price is pretty average and the taste was amazing. The cashier was patience when deciding what tacos I wanted to try. Overall, it was great place for tacos, I preferred the Pastor tacos and a little hint of pineapple was a perfect match. If you're in the area, stop by and get you some authentic tacos.

Parking is nightmare. Ribeye taco was terrible. Very fatty. Had to buy water from bottle. Staff unfriendly. Would not go back.

Do they serve any alcohol? Beer/Margaritas

Currently Chilangos doesn't serve beer or margaritas. They're a fairly new restaurant, so they might still be working on their liquor license. If you ask staff you may be able to byob.

I'll skip the pastor and chicken quesadilla next time, and try and get the birria tacos if I'm there on a Sunday. I didn't get a picture of churros but they were the best I've ever had. Crunchy and flavorful. Service was fast, but the calling of your name (to pick up the order) is super low. I don't know how my friend heard our name. Ambiance is loud, but I was also there during the Mexico WC game, so that's understandable. The place was lively and fun.

There are multiple locations in DFW, and this review is for the Chilangos in Dallas off of Ross. My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - The two Chilangos locations I've been to are both located in strip malls with a bright, neon "Chilangos Tacos" sign above the entrance. Inside, there's reggaeton music, tons of patrons, and ESL here. Once you place your order, grab a Jarritos, a bright red metal seat, and watch the staff cook your tacos to order. 1 Star. Service - The staff are very friendly and efficient. It really helps if you speak Spanish, so go with someone who does, or point to the menu item you want. Once you place your order, grab a seat and wait for your name to be called. The staff is super nice and efficient, and our order was available in about 5 min. 1 Star. Food - Birria Quesatacos with consume. Memorize it and order it. Kudos to my son who swears by this dish. I am now a believer. The tender seasoned shredded birria beef is so flavorful. The quesataco style melts the cheese into the corn tortilla. And when you take some diced onion and cilantro to top it, dunk it in the consume before biting into the most flavorful taco served in DFW. According to the menu, this dish is only available on the weekend, but I've used food deliver services to get my consume fix during the week so YMMV. Bottom line, it's not just the best item on the menu, it's the best taco bite in all of DFW. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. Chilango Tacos is expanding in DFW. There are now multiple locations in all of DFW so there should be a location near you. Chilangos Tacos is now in my weekly rotation. 1 Star.

The surrounding neighborhood, however, was a pleasant surprise. It's a trendy, energetic pocket of Dallas that I had somehow never explored before, and it immediately caught my attention. The restaurant itself is quite unassuming. If I'm being honest, it didn't exactly scream "come on in." On this particular night, there was only one employee working. It took nearly 10 minutes just to place my order and another 15 minutes before the food arrived. By that point, I was more than a little annoyed. Then the tacos showed up. Talk about a complete plot twist. Not only was everything beautifully presented, but the flavors were absolutely unbelievable. Whenever I visit a taco spot, I like to order a variety so I can get a sense of what they're really capable of. This time it was the al pastor, carne asada, and Baja tacos. One word....incredible. I can't tell you which one was best! I've had great tacos before. I've had places nail one or two selections. But I honestly can't remember the last time three completely different tacos all delivered a perfect punch in a single sitting. Every bite was packed with flavor, expertly balanced, and memorable in its own way. Without question, this was the best taco trio I've ever had. What a roller coaster of a visit. I went from feeling completely ignored and wondering if I'd made a mistake, to wanting to walk back into the kitchen and hug the chef. Sometimes great food doesn't just redeem an experience--it completely rewrites it. The Taco stand is GOATED

Fuel City used to be a reliable local staple for a quick meal, but it has completely gone downhill…read more It has always been sketchy due to being right next to the jail, but it used to at least be tolerable for a cheap, late night bite. Now, there is absolutely zero reason to pull in here. Between the sketchy crowd, overpriced convenience store items, and garbage food safety, it is a complete rip off. I actually like their tacos, but the price increases have made them completely not worth it anymore. Eating 7 tacos pushes you over $20, which is sit down restaurant territory for some quick grab and go food. For the price of each taco, you will get two layers of tortilla with a sprinkle of meat and onion. Let's do the math: for the price of just two of these tacos, I can go to In N Out and get a Double Double. That gets me two 100% pure beef patties packing 37 grams of actual protein, and I will leave completely full. What am I supposed to do with two Fuel City tacos? Use them to fill the spaces between my teeth? Also, skip the snacks inside. They price gouge like crazy! Sometimes nearly 2x what you would pay at 7-Eleven or Tom Thumb (which are not even cheap to begin with). Last time I checked, a bag of Hot Cheetos here was 6 bucks! For perspective, they are $3.97 at Walmart and $4.79 at Target. It is a total rip off. The final straw was the horchata. I bought two cups at 6:00 PM, drank one, and put the second straight into the fridge. By midnight, it had completely curdled and turned sour. It was clearly spoiled and at the end of its shelf life when sold, and it gave me a case of the runs later that night. This place survives solely on ancient hype, out of town truck drivers, transients who do not know the area, and nighttime biker meet ups. No local should pay a massive premium for gas station tacos and food poisoning when authentic neighborhood taquerias and actual burger joints offer real value for a less money.
