Some moms and I were throwing an End of Year Class party for our kids at our church this morning. On Tuesday, I placed a large pick up order for breakfast tacos for Sunday. My order was ready for me when I arrived and it was skillfully and accurately executed. The assortment of breakfast tacos were a hit, especially the bacon and egg. They were hot and tasty and Elenas also provided large containers of green and red salsas. I provided a bowl of shredded cheddar for those who wanted to add cheese to theirs. I'm so glad I didn't go with my initial idea of Taco Cabana. I appreciate the candid Yelp reviews that warned me of their inability to be dependable. Elenas is the real deal. Homemade flour tortillas and salsas, and they are dependable. I will be back to try some of their lunch items with my family as well as place more large breakfast taco orders for future morning events. Fresh off the plane in Dallas. First things first is food! Went to Elena's Taqueria for Mexican food and was not disappointed. The Gordita was fresh, full of meat, flavorful, all the f descriptors lol. Staff were very friendly and service was quick. Will be back to try some of the other menu items soon. read more

This Hidden hole in the wall is a MUST! I am a regular for their menudo which is simply perfection. She even asked if I wanted hominy and the pata, foot, in there. The tripe was mostly in bite size pieces and had great flavor, which isn't usually the case at most plac The refried beans weren't greasy and had great flavor and smooth consistency. I haven't ate there yet, but I was trying to find the prices of the food, found out that their prices has changed a lot from what they have on the picture! I am always up for a hole in the wall taqueria, so when in the area and hungry for lunch, Hubby & I decided to try Elena's. It is a very small place with limited seating, but we snagged a just vacated booth and put our order in for two tacos each-two al pastor for him and one al pastor and one pollo for me. The menu was in English and it was spoken by the staff well, but the language most spoken around us was Spanish (good sign IMO). The al pastor was served street taco style and was tender and flavorful, if a tad salty. I was surprised to get cheese and lettuce on the pollo taco, but it was quite tasty-I enjoyed the meat more than the al pastor. The green sauce was flavorful and spicy-just the way I like it! Two tacos and a drink each for less than $12 makes a girl happy and I would recommend. read more

One of the greatest gems in Farmers Branch. This is my go-to place for breakfast tacos!...as well as their selection of traditional Mexican food. My favorite thing to get there is the green chilaquiles, be careful they're a little spicy but that's how I like mine. They have some of the best green salsa, it has a rich texture and nice kick. Its a really unassuming place, you can tell they cook their food with love. It's a family owned business, you can find the owner there regulary, very friendly environment. read more

My favorite go place for breakfast taco's. Since the "Covid19" scare I have been forced to look for new places close to eat. I work at Sam Pack's Five Star Ford and several people I work with go by there for lunch. Come to find out they have than is on the menu at the counter. So far I have had the sour cream enchiladas, the beef and chicken quesadillas and of course the breakfast taco's (served all Day.) A coworkers love the beef stew tacos and the carne guisada. I tried this place for their flour tortillas and was greatly disappointed. I don't think these were actually homemade as they claimed, but they were not good and did not look how they do in the photos on here. Bistec was the only meat with flavor, but not a good one. Lengua had zero flavor. I would've liked to have seen a red salsa to go on it. Barbacoa was soo greasy and the flavorless tortilla did not help. Menudo, at best was meh. It looked like this place has its regulars. Maybe their tastebuds need to venture out. read more

I love my neighborhood taquerias! There are SO many to choose from in North Dallas, and almost all of them have something to recommend. Most, Like Elena's, are tiny, hole in the wall spots, tucked into strip malls around Carrollton, Addison & Farmers Branch. Located about a block off I35, Elena's makes their tortillas (corn & flour) in house - and both are wonderful! I've only had the breakfast tacos here, but every combination I have tried - potato, bacon, chorizo - has hit the mark. And let's talk about that homemade salsa verde they're serving up! It's a little different every time I come in, but the flavor is always incredible. Just remember though: it's a small restaurant, fills up fast and they only have a few people on staff.
