Not SUPER vegetarian friendly but a really cute spot with good service. Everything is super fresh and authentic but lacked salt in most dishes for me. Mushroom & Peppers Taco: 7/10 Elotes (corn): 6/10 Oxaca Cheese Quesadilla: 5/10 (too oily and bland for me) Ps: they serve lil complimentary chicken tostadas and my friend who eats meat said it was the best item there

This place was recommended by a co-worker who also lives in the area. And honestly, at first I kind of ignored the recommendation for awhile because one, we have quite a few taco places in the area and two, I didn't really trust the source. Glad to say I was wrong on all fronts. This was such a nice surprise. I feel like taco places are usually either in little grocery stores/trucks/gas stations, or extremely up-scale, boogie, pretentious restaurants where it's $7 a taco. I'm glad to report that this has the perfect feel for a taco restaurant. Classy, clean, high-quality restaurant feel, without crossing the line of being pretentious. And to anyone who knows me well, knows I'm a huge sucker for sauces and spice so when I saw the trio of sauces coming towards the table after we sat down, I was a happy camper. And then after ordering our tacos (pork, steak and birria) we each received a small free chicken tostada. Such a nice touch and honestly what pushed this from a 4 to a 5. I love the confidence in the place. "You already ordered? Well, here's a little app to get you started, on the house that you're going to like." As someone mentioned already, they pack these little suckers with meat. No skimpy tacos here. All of them were great, but I really enjoyed the steak the best.

Just wow!! Best tacos I've had in a while. My favorites were the rib and shrimp tacos- they are a must try!! We did have to send a few tacos back due to an allergy that we had notified them of prior to ordering, so service could've definitely been a bit better but the food was really too good. Horchata was very tasty as well, I'll be back very soon!

Taqueria Catrina's is a really sweet neighborhood spot with genuinely friendly people. Everyone we interacted with was kind and welcoming, and the whole place has a relaxed, comfortable vibe. The complimentary tostadas were a thoughtful touch and really delicious while we waited. The tacos were super flavorful and every bite had a punch of flavor. The guacamole was fresh but a little salty for my taste and a bit on the expensive side. Service was pretty slow during our visit, so it may not be the best place if you're in a rush. Still, the staff stayed warm and positive the whole time. Overall a nice local spot with good food and kind people. Get there early, limited seating but they made it work!

Great ambiance. But the service was terrible. I had made reservations for 12 and they were like "we didn't receive anything" and then I showed my confirmation. But they're yet to make our table. We asked them several times and eventually they did. Our server was also very rude and wasn't even trying to serve us properly, multiple times we asked for water and bowls for appetizers. It took a long time to get those to our table. there was an older lady who was kind enough to help us out. She was very polite and friendly. I would say food was ok. I've had better birria and consume from other taquerias. I don't know whether they were still new. But it seemed like only one person cared enough to help us.

This has become my new go-to local Mexican spot. The food is authentic and so delicious. The restaurant itself has the cutest decor and is so clean! Service was also great with friendly waiters who are very accommodating. I'd recommend dining in to enjoy the food hot and to enjoy the atmosphere. Already looking forward to coming back next week to try other food!

This is my FAVORITE Mexican spot in dfw. Amazing food, every time. Very efficient and friendly service. And the inside is super cute! I've been here maybe 10~ times, and I've enjoyed it every time. Enchilada plate is definitely my favorite, and I always get the corn it's amazing. Love this restaurant and I will be coming here for the rest of my life!!!!

This is upscale quality food in a strip mall parking lot. The chicken Tinga tostadas had my abuelita's spices, on a tostada with an unreal level of crispy. The quality of service and the profile of spices makes me feel like I'm stealing. I'd put this up against any upscale Dallas restaurant. I also love the quirky Catarina figurines strewn throughout.

This place was divine! From the Dia de Los Muertos decor to the friendliness of the staff to the cooking show on the wall to the amazing horchata and food, I highly recommend this place! My kids got the quesadilla and taco with beef head (which is just small sliced beef). My husband got the chicken enchilada and I got the birria tacos. They were so delicious! And the way the enchilada was decorated, with pickles on top and cilantro, I think it was a professional chef in the back. You can tell they put so much pride into their food and decor! I love this place and would gladly go back!

So nice of the waitress to offer this to us!

Had such a great dinner at Taqueria Catrinas! The inside of the restaurant is super cozy, and our waitress was so bubbly and sweet. She even brought my friend and me complimentary tostadas and they were delicious! I ordered the beef tacos and omg... they were loaded. Seriously felt like each one had the protein of three mini tacos. We finished with churros and ice cream, also so yummy

We noticed a taco spot nearby our church one day and decided to give it a try. The restaurant is small with limited seating, but the vibe is clean and modern, definitely not your typical taco small shop. What really stood out was the customer service. The staff was extremely kind and accommodating, which made the experience pleasant from the start. Food: Bistek Tacos (5/10): These tasted like steak tacos I could easily make at home - my wife even agreed too. The steak portions were generous, but the large cuts made it harder to get that seared, charred flavor I was hoping for. Chopping the meat finer would have gone a long way. Adobada Piña Asada (4/10): I love a good pastor taco, but this missed the mark. It lacked seasoning and sear, and the two oversized pineapple chunks felt out of place. Instead of blending into every bite, the pineapple was gone in just a couple bites, leaving the taco unbalanced. Now I know this is a hot topic for some people, as they do not like pineapples on their pastor tacos but thats the traditional way of doing it. But this is just not the right way for me. Molcajete Taquero (6/10): A short rib taco that had more flavor than the others and was probably my favorite if I had to pick out of the 3. But the execution wasn't practical, it was basically an entire short rib inside a tortilla. Hard to eat, and it would've worked much better if the meat had been cut up. Horchata (9/10): The star of the show! Perfectly balanced, smooth, and not overly sweet. I'd come back just for this. Highly recommend for a hot summer day. The salsas.... if you know my reviews, then you know I like a good kick. The salsas here were not it! It was very low-mid and a bit watery to me. This did not help enhance the tacos at all. Overall: 5/10 based on food alone. I get that presentation is a big part of dining these days, but I came in wanting authentic, flavorful tacos and this wasn't it. Prices are also on the higher side ($4-6 per taco), which makes it harder to justify. If you're looking for a semi-nice sit-down taco experience, this could work for you. But if you're craving true street tacos, you'd be better off at a food truck or gas station spot.

Always love coming back here! It's a hole in the wall but has business on a Saturday - it's not too quiet and not too loud. It's juuuust right. And our food came out so fast! It's always delicious. This time we got the flan and oh man the first authentic flan I've had in a hot minute that puts other flans to shame!

Me and my bf just went cs we were craving Mexican food, food was 10/10 We did get a rude server tho idk her name cs she didn't want to serve us for some reason She was skinny w black hair. Honestly her attitude was not it. We had just sat down and she was being rude idk if she had a bad day or something But then we got another server she was really nice It was a nice experience overall but that server needs to check her attitude we made sure to leave the tip to the other server

It was my first visit, and it was absolutely worth the wait. I've seen all the Instagram posts, and I finally got my chance to experience it for myself. I am now addicted to the salsa, and the chips are perfect. We now go regularly, so I've changed my previous review from 4 stars to 5 stars. Also, the staff are all wonderful. Prasham has become one of our favorites. My husband and I ate at LA Vista Cocina for the first time today. The restaurant was very clean with a nice atmosphere. The staff were friendly and very gracious in trying to make sure we had a good experience. We were served salsa and chips, and although we loved the warm salsa, the chips had a taste that neither of us cared for. I'm not sure if it was the oil or lard that they were fried in, but we both noticed it right away. We still ate them because the salsa was really yummy. Both of us ordered the house tacos. The menu has a lot of interesting entrees, but I was looking for a combination type platter so I could try a taco, enchilada, and tamale, but there wasn't anything like that on the menu. We were served generous portions, and the refried beans were very good. The rice was dry and bland, but it was okay after I poured a bunch of salsa on it. The taco shells were on the stale side, and although my husband noticed the same odd taste that was in the chips, I had poured quite a bit of salsa in each of mine, so I didn't notice. Overall, the restaurant and waitstaff were top notch, but unfortunately, we didn't feel the same about the food we had. Maybe we'll try ordering something different next time.
