Really great place. The Pho broth is so so so good that I drank it all. Noodles were cooked to perfection and the perfect amount of meat and seafood. We got the salt and pepper tofu...HIGHLY RECOMMEND as well as the spring rolls. Do not leave this place without getting the garlic noodles

This place is owned by Hello Vietnam in Scottsdale but with more menu items including Wagyu and lobster. It is located on the eastern most end of the NE business corner of Germann and Dobson The entrance is a bit difficult to navigate and I would recommend clearer signage to the front. The sliding glass doors is s bit cumbersome and they get left open because they appear automatic but are not. The restroom entrance reminded me of an escape room with multiple options. The sinks were nice though. The interior is spacious and divided into various seating areas. This would be a good place to bring larger groups as it accommodates 12 in a section. The decor is pleasant and the interior design is representative of colors and pictures reflective of Vietnam. There are 4 large screens that display various food preparations and traditional dishes. They also have a bar and serve alcoholic beverages besides boba and Southeast Asian teas/drinks. They have fair prices and the pho has good broth. Pho Tai (rare steak) is not loaded with meat, but it is a large bowl and contains a large amount of noodles. I actually returned again to check if the pho broth was consistent and it was flavorful. I also had yellow curry which I have tried at their other location. Toan is a friendly server and the food came at a comfortable pace. He was quick to refill drinks and check on our table. I would recommend you try this restaurant, especially if you have not tried Pho (pronounced Fa).

Not very busy as we came about an hour before the restaurant closed. The decor was well lit and the restaurant smelled clean. Our server was very quiet, but friendly. The menu had a lot of options, but we knew we came for the pho. Ordered the eggrolls and two phos. Everything was pretty tasty. No complaints here. I hope this place lasts because I'll definitely be back.

La Sen means Lotus. Kenny.. was my host, bartender, and waiter for this PHO-KING journey into a 6 month old restaurant it was PHO-KING AMAZING! chủ sở hữu, xin vui lòng cho nhân viên nấu ăn biết rằng đã làm nên bữa ăn ngon. Cảm ơn (owner, please let the cooking staff know that made the delicious meal. thank you) Ambiance, CLEAN, open (not one tight space there), private rooms for parties, very well designed with no overkill on any of it! See the PHO-NOMAL PUCTURES BELOW. Pricing very reasonable. Started with ice tea hand made from tea leaves before you get it, comes with 1 refill, stong yet Mello for a cool 108 today. Decide to order the vietnamese egg rolls, pot stickers, and lemongrass beef noodle bowl. Post stickers: right out of frying, crisp and delicious with a warm meaty center. When I bit into the pot sticker, PHO-LAVOR boosts combo with the crispness on the outside amazing with or without the sweet sauce! Vietnamese eggrolls: Look at them eggrolls pictures! Just right and hot AF as they just came out of the fryer. Crunch through the 4 layers of crispness just to get to be given another burst of different flavors. You can't get any closer in my own opinion to being in Vietnam by the river or with new people you meet just enjoying a snack together. Finally, lemongrass beef noodle bowl: This is the lemongrass flavor I have been searching for, lemongrass flavor in the marinated beef with other spices, and has a nice just carmilized edges of the beef, noodles, mint, lettuce, carrots, cucumber, onions and peanuts. I like to call this the deconstructed PHO bowl. Check this out think of this LEMONGRASS BEEF PHO. I asked if they were able to make it, not able to do it at this time. It's all good! Overall, it was a great experience from walking in to walking out after eating. Yes, it was not busy. 3 tables when I got there, don't let that stear you away, because once this place gets hot and you can't get in....then... I TOOK THE CHANCE YOU SHOULD TOO!

Very nicely decorated inside especially for a Vietnamese food place. Seeing how it is I was expecting the pricing to be high, but with inflation nowadays it was comparable to hole in the wall Pho spots. There are over the top pricey items if you went to go fancy route. The Steak Pho, Pho Thai was $12. The pho broth was delicious. The meat came out a bit more cooked than we would have wanted. Bun Bo Hue was so good on the first couple bites. Then it got a bit fishy as I ate more. The fish sauce got very strong. Maybe next time ask if it's possible to get light fish sauce. The service was great! They have a private room if you want to have an event or gathering.

I stopped in to try a new Vietnamese restaurant that served more options than just pho. The menu had different selections like raw beef salad, fish sauce, chicken wings, and noodles soups. Unfortunately, there were a lot of items on the menu that were no longer available. I would say the food was lacking flavors and did not taste authentic. Also, I like my noodle soup piping hot, so I was very disappointed when my Bun Riej came out lukewarm. I was hoping this restaurant would have authentic Vietnamese food.

Second visit! Came in around 6/6:30 on Sunday evening with my family since they wanted to try this place. We were seated pretty quickly. It took a while to get our drink orders in (about 10 mins). Once our drinks came out, our food orders were taken pretty quickly. It didn't take too long after that to receive our food! Our order: Pork & shrimp lotus salad Bun bo hue w/ sliced beef & brisket Bun mam Combination noodle bowl (bun dac biet) Combination stir fry (xao dac biet) The lotus salad was pretty good! Light, citrusy and refreshing! You can't see them in the photos but I swear there is pork and shrimp underneath all the onions and lotus lol. Bun bo hue broth looked a bit light in color (photo was enhanced but it was light in person). Flavor was also light and could use a bit more. Wasn't bad though! I asked for an extra side of saté and added like 3/4 of it in. I like mine spicy!! Saté wasn't spicy but it still added a nice flavor. Both the sliced beef and brisket were pretty tender. Veggies were fresh! My mom said her bun mam was good but the broth wasn't hot enough. She also wished it came with a sauce for dipping that other places usually give. My dad's noodle combination bowl looked pretty! Nice presentation and I like the bowl it comes in. He just needed some Sambal but other than that, I think he liked his dish. My brother was expecting the noodles for his combination stir fry to be bigger. He also felt the portion size was a bit small. Overall, an improvement since the first time!

After reading so many negative comments I decided to go here to give it a try and I'm glad I did. The food is very good. I wouldn't call it authentic because Arizona is a long way from Vietnam. They have to scale it back for American tastes. The combo bowl I ordered was very good. A good amount of shrimp, beef and chicken with carrots and broccoli was very fresh and tasty. The Thai ice tea was good without being overly sweet. I liked it so much after I had dinner here I came back the next day and ordered two sandwiches for lunch. Grilled chicken and pork belly. The French baguette was fresh and tasty. The cilantro, onions and carrot added a fresh healthy taste to the sandwich. I didn't see pate as an option for the sandwiches but they stood solid on their own. I wish the veggies were pickled longer for more depth in their taste but I get what they ate doing here which is making it generic so they can sell more sandwiches without turning some people off. Think Mexican food with tons of cheese and black olives. That's not authentic Mexican Food but that's what people have come to expect. It's Chandler AZ with people from Nebraska , Iowa and Ohio and they want chimichanga even if it's a made up dish for Americana. Same principle in effect here. The service was great but don't be in a rush. Everything is made fresh so don't complain about time. If you want fast go to Panda Express. Good food should be enjoyable and savored otherwise go to a drive in and order Taco Bell. The ambiance is very nice. This has one of the nicest decors I've ever seen for a Vietnamese restaurant. If you know San Gabriel or San Fernando Pho spots in Cali you know what I'm talking about. Next time I'm trying the Pho which at $12.50 is a deal. The depth of their menu was amazing with so many dishes available. Curry, Phad Thai noodles there is something for everyone here. Very nice friendly staff.

Got take out from the place two times. One time I got the vegan pho and the other time I got the grilled chicken pho. Both very good but especially loved the vegan pho. It was packed with flavor, my only thing was I wish they added more tofu! Lots of veggies given as well it was the best pho i've had! The service is good and staff has been very nice. I was killing time in Chandler when lunch time approached and getting a sandwich was on my brain…read more Thanks to the Yelp app, I was able to find Retro's Subs & Brews and it seemed like the perfect spot to cure my itch. I was super stoked to check a place with "retro" in the name out, and I gotta be honest here, I left with pretty mixed emotions about a lot of things. The restaurant itself is pretty boring inside, mostly just being black with a few small pictures hanging up. I was kind of expecting big retro movie posters or something hanging around, but I definitely didn't get much of a retro vibe from this place minus a small neon "bar" sign and a claw machine in the corner. The menus were very cool, right by the front door its a record shelf and the records were the menus, so thumbs up for that idea. I thought i was mistaken, but I don't remember seeing sandwich prices on the actual menu, but as I look at other photos on yelp it does appear that the sandwiches don't have prices attached to them, which explains why I was thrown off by the end price. I settled on ordering the "take on me" which was black forest ham, roasted turkey, hickory smoked bacon, cheddar cheese, lettuce, and mayo on a Hawaiian style roll. I also ordered a sprite and a chocolate chip cookie as a side. The chocolate chip cookie was okay, pretty standard cookie though definitely not worth $3.75. The sprite was $2.99, and the sandwich came to $15.58. I was also charged $0.96 for something called the advantage program which I have no idea what that is. I gotta say, spending over $25 on a sandwich, a small cookie, and a drink is not something I would care to do at a place like this. The sandwich itself was very good, I won't deny that. The meat tasted fresh, and when it was all together it was definitely a good sandwich, but when there's not combo option and a basic sandwich, cookie, and drink ends up being $25 it's gonna be a no from me on returning in the future. Overall, I really wanted to love this place for the name, but the lack of much decorations and prices left something to be desired. The food itself was good, but not worth what was spent.

Today I stopped by after work and the patio wasn't as full, but there was a good size group gathered outside. The sandwiches here are so damn tasty, and you have to give them credit for making their own bread daily. You can taste the difference and you're never gonna get stale bread here, no sir!! They also offer a wide variety of Asian goods such as Vietnamese coffee you can make at home, spam, pastries, and a variety of chips you can't find in a regular grocery store. The prices for these banh mi sandwiches are very reasonable. One sandwich costs around $9. You can cut it in half and split it into 2 which is a deal! They make mine without jalapeños which is exactly how I like it. They forgot and put some in one of my sandwiches tonight, but no biggie. I just picked them off, lol. Everything else was terrible. And please note by my reviews that I'm an easy grader. Went with my uncle for lunch. We each had the three meat plate. I chose fattier brisket, pastrami and ribs plus two sides. This came out to ~$36 each. Total bill for the two of us was over $100 by adding drink, cookie, tax and tip. My uncle got kielbasa, brisket and pastrami. Our guess is that the food is brought in sealed and they microwave or use some similar reheat method and do no "cooking" there. All of my meats were beyond dry. It's really hard to convey how dry. The ribs were the biggest terror point since not only was it as tough as leather but it tasted like it was doused in iodized salt. My uncle's plate was not any better. The kielbasa was sliced and overcooked so badly that the sliced edges were burnt and frayed - you've got to really try hard to screw up preserved sausage. I could only do a few bites and threw it all in the trash. They were getting busy and I was not going to stand back in line with trays of food to broach the problems. They make sure to ask for a tip at time of order but there's no service for quality control. My uncle texted me later in the day: "Today's restaurant was such an awful choice for BarBQ. STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING AND READ THIS--Portillo's at 7200 W Ray Rd in Chandler Has Just Redefined…read more"Heaven on a Plate" with the BIG BEEF DIPPED and That CHEESE SAUCE... OMG! I've had Italian Beef before. I've loved Italian Beef before. But nothing--NOTHING--prepared me for the transcendent, jaw-dropping, flavor-explosion experience that is ordering the Big Beef DIPPED at this Chandler location. If you haven't done it yet, you haven't lived. And if you've had it elsewhere but haven't had it here with their cheese sauce... well, buckle up, because you're about to discover your new favorite thing on the entire planet. From the second you walk into Portillo's on Ray Road, you can smell the magic--crisp sport peppers, rich au jus, and that unmistakable aroma of slow-roasted beef that makes your stomach growl instantly. But the real moment of truth comes when you look that server in the eye and say: "I'll take the Big Beef, DIPPED, LOADED with cheese sauce. And I mean loaded." Watch their face light up--they know. They understand. This is not just a sandwich; it's a ritual, and this location performs it with reverence. Then it arrives. Oh. My. Goodness. The bread is drenched--and I mean perfectly, gloriously drenched--in that deep, savory au jus, so every inch is saturated with rich, beefy flavor. It's not soggy; it's luscious. It's a sponge for joy. And then... the cheese sauce. Sweet, spicy, velvety, liquid gold--it's like someone took pepper jack, dreams, and a touch of heaven and whipped it into a creamy, molten ribbon that cascades over every millimeter of that dipped bread and tender, shreddy beef. The first bite is not just a meal--it's a religious experience. The crunch of the giardiniera, the pop of a sport pepper, the warm, juicy beef, the cheese sauce pulling in golden strands... it's an OMG moment so intense you might actually forget your own name for a second. You'll hear yourself making sounds you didn't know you could make. You might cry a little (happy tears). You might order a second one before you've even finished the first. And here's the thing--the Chandler location executes this with flawless, almost artistic precision. The line moves fast, the staff is smiling, and they don't skimp. They don't hold back on the beef, they don't drizzle the cheese sauce like it's an afterthought--they PILE IT ON with pride. You can tell this team lives for these moments. They're not just serving food; they're delivering pure, unadulterated happiness. Even the atmosphere feels electric--like everyone in the room knows they're about to have their day made. You'll see strangers nodding at each other in mutual respect over their sandwiches. You'll hear "OMG!" echoed across the dining room (seriously). And when you finish that Big Beef Dipped--cheese sauce glistening on every corner, not a drop of au jus left--you'll sit back with a food coma smile so wide it hurts, already plotting your next visit. Bottom line: If you are within 50 miles of 7200 W Ray Rd, you have no excuse. Go. Right now. Order the Big Beef DIPPED with EXTRA cheese sauce. Thank me later. And maybe bring a napkin--because that cheese sauce is so good, you're going to want to lick every last drop off your fingers. Five stars? Try FIVE OUT OF FIVE STARS PLUS A STANDING OVATION!
