Ate here mid-January 2024 and it is not ready to be open. They need weeks of work to improve. Half the items on their menu are not available. They don't have a beer/wine license. The waitstaff are clueless; food came out one dish at a time and the waiter did not know what was what and we had to guess. The shrimp rolls are one piece of shrimp wrapped in a piece of lettuce absolutely nothing else. Overall it was really disappointing. Very busy on Friday night, waited over 40 minutes to get seated. They seemed to be under staffed. There was also a private party in an enclosed room, but when they started singing Karaoke, general seating could hear them clearly. My family and I have had the worst experience at this Asian restaurant ever. My 4 family members being Vietnameses ourselves coming to a Vietnamese restaurant thinking like we would at least get good or fair treatment was so far from the truth. When they had the other Vietnamese servers, they were so much nicer and much more respectful but recently they had hired this Hispanic woman, and I have nothing against anyone or any race unless they give me a reason. When we came in, she was sooooo rude, unprofessional, disrespectful and actually Racist to us. She outwardly ignored my whole family, wouldn't serve us but kept standing behind her lame desk pretending to be busy. We stood in front of her in the reception area over 10 mins, and this Hispanic woman had the audacity to continue ignoring us and wouldn't even get us a table to sit down. She was sooooo mean and ill-mannered that we refused to ever come back to this restaurant again no matter how much we love their pho and bun bo hue. She never picks up the phone when people call and acted like she owned the place when in fact that's not even closed. When I asked to speak to a manager, she said the manger isn't available and continued having a mean smirk on her face. Such evilness to discriminate against anyone, but especially the same race of people who's food you are serving is beyond sick and low. Great spot - we will be back! We went on 1/23/24 so they are still in their soft opening phase. Despite being in their soft open the menu was HUGE and they were only out of a few things. We walked in with a party of 7 and they were able to seat us right away despite the restaurant being fairly full. The staff was friendly, helpful, and quick throughout our time there. We tried a variety of apps - spring rolls (the peanut sauce they came with was delicious), fried egg rolls (I don't remember the menu name but they were sooo good), chicken wings, and the salt & pepper tofu (this was awesome!). All was delicious. Our party tried a variety of main dishes (Pho, spicy noodle soup, curry, and fried rice) and everyone was impressed and happy with their food. We can't wait to go back! read more

We arrived there we had no reservations and it was a decent 30 minute wait but if you looked out of the waiting room there was a whole section of the restaurant that was empty. They also don't take down your name so they call "table for 4" or something like that. Otherwise the food was good and the drinks were amazing.They don't have all of the food on the menu but they have a good choice. They do need to add a drinks part on the menu. They do alarm you that it might take awhile to bring out your food so do bring a game. They only have a few waiters/ waitresses but they move pretty fast. We came here Friday evening and it was relatively quiet which scared us a bit. However it turns out it was a blessing - the food came out pretty quick and the service was good. We ordered a banh mi (crispy pork), fresh rolls, and a brisket/meatball pho. The food was all good - only needed some minor adjustments to make it excellent - but overall we were quite satisfied. The prices were also on the relatively inexpensive side when compared to other Vietnamese restaurants in the area ($12.50 for the pho vs ~$16 elsewhere). I'm hoping this place sticks around - definitely good enough to warrant many repeat visits. read more

Food is ok. About the same as expected from a typical Vietnamese restaurant. Food has a lot of fatty meat. But the worst part of my experience was the room temperature. Outside temp is 108. They kept their room temp at 83 degree according to their thermostat. To be honest, I was overheated. I just couldn't eat my soup. I placed my order through Yelp. I received a message that my order was ready at 1:54pm. I came yo pick up my order to find out by the lady up front it's not ready. I asked how long and she told me 10min. People walked in and were seated and started eating pretty quickly. At 2:20pm I asked the status and was told it's almost ready. I was told they had to cook for the people in the restaurant first and grubhub orders come in when they choose to place the order. It to sure what this meant but it's 2:25pm and I just got my food. We are so happy to have a new and different place to eat in our neighborhood! They have your familiar Vietnamese favorites, pho and various noodle and rice dishes. I love that they have the French baguette sandwiches. There is a lot to choose from on the menu. The prices are quite reasonable, too! My husband and I were pleasantly surprised. The decor is decorated nicely and clean. The service is a bit hit or miss. We've been there 3 times and the service varied. They just opened, so I will give them a break. La Sen Vietnamese Restaurant is a hidden gem. It recently opened without a fan fair. The dishes are authentic. The ingredients are fresh. The seafood is plentiful. I would recommend this restaurant for a night out with finding yourself trying something out of the ordinary. We ordered garlic noodles with shrimp, caramelized (pork belly) full bowl, seafood fried rice and curry, and shrimp chicken. We were satisfied and had enough to take home for leftovers. Great prices and great selection on food. When they first opened it was my go to but recently they started training new employees and it seems they lack a sense of urgency. Ambiance is clean but i would recommend a change in music. Their slow music theme was putting my partner and myself to sleep and wouldve preferred something a little more upbeat. I won't rule this place out yet because when my first visit was awesome and the price made me want to come back. My friend and I had a wonderful meal at this restaurant. Besides phở and bún bò Huế, there were lots of scrumptious food that you need to try on the menu. I highly recommend you to try the orange chicken, special pasta, and bread; these are my favorite. The food cooked very quickly but were still hot and delicious. I lived in the Boston area for a long time and used to look forward to visiting some of the Vietnamese restaurants in a neighborhood loaded with Vietnamese choices. For the 26 years that I've lived in the Phoenix area I've been searching for a Vietnamese restaurant that had the same kind of distinctive flavors as my favorites in Boston but most of the were ok at best. Until now. My wife and I just tried the Pho at La Sen last night and we've finally I've found our go to Vietnamese restaurant. I was full of flavor, distinctly NOT just a basic chicken stock, and the beef and brisket was very tender. We did take out but the person at the front desk was friendly and helpful. I rarely leave restaurant reviews but I am going to take the time to post this review on other websites because I want La Sen to be around for a long, long, time. read more

I think this is the best Vietnamese food in Arizona. The appetizers were great, and the pho was incredible. Definitely recommend the wagyu beef pho, but the chicken pho wasn't too far behind. The service is slow, but I'm not one to freak out about "service" if the food is incredible, particularly because the entire staff were extremely friendly.
