Amazing service, any review about how the miss lady who is a server / hostess is so incredibly misleading and clearly did not try to get to know someone. She's is so very kind and cares about the restaurant. The old man that seems to work behind counter is funny and very helpful. They do give you water bottles instead of cups and as a former germaphobe I actually love this. The food is absolutely fire.I can't call it the most fine dining Vietnamese , however for what I was expecting vs what I got into, this is absolutely going to be at minimum a once a month visit for me for a long time. I can't wait to try the other menu items. I came with my girlfriend and she also really loved the pho and service . The sweet waitress also called my girlfriend very pretty (she's right) Also you may have seen 100% bring cash. Worker lied about price, overcharged and refused to give money back. They have multiple signs that say "pay cash save $3". Purchased a bowl of soup for ~$15 which should have been $12 in cash before taxes. When I asked about the cash price, the worker said $15 is the cash price. I went back and forth with the worker about the signs saying "pay cash save $3" but she kept asking me to check her math. She said if it was card it would be an extra $3. I told her that a credit card fee (that's not stated anywhere) is not the same as saving $3 in cash. When I asked for the cash back to pay with card she refused to give me the cash back. When I asked her to show me how she would charge the extra $3 she didn't know how (makes me believe she was lying over the cash price being lower). Overall the food is decent but I can get good soup at plenty of other places and not be lied to and robbed by their staff. read more

But reading on Yelp The rave reviews that it got gave me hope for a great meal! Walking inside, the place is neat as a pin, very clean, with plenty of seating. Beer bar at the back of the room and a couple of TVs on the walls. The decor is very contemporary, and looks up to date. I had ordered a Thai iced tea and a water to start with. I was brought a plastic bottle of water and my Thai iced tea in a plastic cup. Not quite the restaurant experience I am used to, but you know what? It was. Okay. The Thai iced tea was very tasty and I could have drank at least three more of them. I had ordered the chicken wings, and of course I had to order them extra crispy. You get six wings, three drums and three flats, with some sauce on the plate for $12.99. for $12.99. they did not seem like they were extra crispy., and the breading on the wings I really couldn't identify. It seemed like it might be panko crumbs, but I wasn't really sure. Regardless, they were tasty. Were they the best ones I've ever had? No they were not. But they were pretty good for the price. I wish they would have put the sauce in a separate bowl on the side so that I could actually dunk the chicken wing in it rather than sort of wipe the plate with it, but that's just a small thing. I ordered the number 19 which was sliced steak in broth with rice noodles. The broth was really amazing, and the sliced steak was medium rare, and allowed to cook in the hot broth. The flavors were so good. So good. I actually drank all of the broth. Bottom line? I would totally hear again, there were so many things on the menu that I would have loved to try but did not get a chance to. Visiting my daughter and we agreed on a Pho restaurant and this one was close to her house, about 7 min. The restaurant was clean, the interior is just outdated. The server was great! She was friendly, funny and quick on her feet. We ordered the shrimp spring rolls, the chicken egg rolls and the N36-Stor Fried Chicken with lemongrass sauce with the vermicelli. Everything was fresh and delicious. The egg rolls were nice and hot when they were served. We didn't eat it all because the portion was generous and I must say the food travels well bc we ate again for lunch the next day and the taste was as if we had just ordered. read more

Cover your ears when you open the front door as the bell that alerts your entrance is quite loud. It is a large restaurant with good parking accessibility. The men's room is not lockable but they provide a curtain to separate one standing from one sitting. There were some boxes stored in plain view near the kitchen. Moving onto the food they have 5 star food and 5 star service. I ordered pho ga and she brought amazing chicken Phố. I also had cafe sua da which was excellent. The vegetables brought to add to the Phố were good but not quite enough. Two juicy lime halves added to the great Phố flavors. My total bill was $22. I will return because the food is great and the staff is very friendly. Pho Leo seems to be the furthest east of any Vietnamese restaurant in Mesa so this is an important business which I encourage everyone to experience and support. read more

I have gone here on two separate occasions, both times I ordered PHO, which was decent... but the customer service is less than ONE star! I simply can't understand how a server (like tower) as she is the only one working both times can hate her customers as much as she does. The food is fair at best, but the portions are generous. I asked for a glass of water and they give you a small water bottle (don't think about asking for extra water!!!) When it's time to go and you want to take your food home, just wait for the obnoxious eye roll!! Odd way to serve the pho add-Ins (Thai basil, bean sprouts etc) - it's all in one plastic basket for the whole table, meaning you each have to reach in there and portion it out - should get individual plates). Not enough beef in the beef spring rolls. As others have experienced, service was not good or friendly from the older short Vietnamese grandma. But sometime in 2025 they must've remodeled the restaurant so it's much more upscale and has a really fresh clean appearance to it personally I don't care about the appearance as much as I do is a good service, but "number one is how good is the food?" The menu has changed a little bit. It's more condensed, you don't get to have as many options with the noodle bowls as before, but it wouldn't surprise me if they would customize for you. I love the cold noodle bowls, with some protein and or tofu and this has always been one of my FAV go two spots. I always get the same thing, which is the Vietnamese noodle bowl with protein on it, and then I also happen to really like their shrimp spring rolls with thick peanut sauce and a side of fish sauce. Both of their condiments are well balanced. I think my photographs will speak for themselves!!!! let's just say, at some point in our lives by the time you're 30 years old, you stopped to think about what would be your final lunch or dinner that you would request,, if you could eat anything you wanted to eat. This is definitely on MY short list. Don't expect to be controlled and have a lot of conversation, the owners and our servers are pretty much straight to the point, and they like to leave you alone. The pho here is legit delicious. Stopped by on a visit to Mesa and it was so good we went back for takeout. Deep flavorful broth, generous portions of meat and tendon. Noodle texture was decent, maybe a little on the soft side. The fresh shrimp spring rolls were also good accompanied by a tasty peanut sauce. I saw some comments regarding decor and service and I'll just say that yes, the door bell is loud and yes, the owner is no nonsense, and yes the bathroom is a little gross. The fresh spring rolls with a lil fish sauce and chili is delicious and the pho is bomb. One thing I love, is how there's always been something on the menu to accommodate my dietary needs. Sometimes I take a break from meats and animal products and can still enjoy a satisfying vegan pho. Same when I'm taking a hiatus from carbs, I'll order the veggie pho with chicken and no noodles. How can a restaurant with fantastic food make you feel so sad? They put shady pricing tactics into place that make you feel a bit cheated. Our table ordered a combination pho with egg noodles -- which was the best pho bowl I've had east of the Asian district -- and a lemongrass tofu vermicelli dish that was so flavorful with a nice kick. I have no qualms about the food. It was pretty stellar. The first hint we had that Pho Leo was pretty profit-hungry was the waiter poking his pen on my menu several times asking if we wanted (or more so urging us) to order drinks or appetizers. The second was when my mom asked for a vegetarian sauce instead of the fish sauce-based nuoc cham -- granted that the lemongrass tofu was on the "vegetarian" menu -- and the waitress begrudgingly dropped soy sauce at our table. When we got the check, we realized we were charged for our waters without warning -- water isn't even on the menu and we didn't ask for bottled. The waitress also told us only upon taking our card that there'd be a $3 fee for using credit card (that's a 10% charge on our meal -- WAY more than credit card processing fees). This fee wasn't posted anywhere. If the restaurant owners are reading, I highly recommend raising prices instead of using these outdated tactics. I would've gladly paid that extra $5 for my bowl of pho. Its quality is great, portions are very generous, and Pho Leo is basically the only great pho place serving East Mesa. This was my first time trying this restaurant. Pho is one of my favorite dishes & I eat it at least once every week. I was hopeful for this location. I ordered the large sirloin steak pho. While it is very large, it had a off taste. It did not taste quite right. The broth did not taste as if it came from roasted beef bones. It was saltier and not rich at all. It tasted as if it came from a beef bullion as used. The spring salad roll tasted pretty good. Upon asking to pay, the sent me the wrong bill two different times. Finally they brought the right bill. It was over $25.00. The large pho was $14.95 & the spring roll was $5.49 that means the total before tax was $20.44. The total bill was $25.14. I asked why was my bill almost $5 higher. She said that it included tax of $1.70. There they charged me $3.00 for using a credit card. That means that they charge $15% to use a credit card! Business get charged 2.5%-3%. So the rest is pure profit! . I know that the restaurant business is a tough business. I will not be back. read more

Vegetarian pho is amazing! We got it to go and it was packed perfectly. We also had the tofu veggie rolls and we loved them.

We were back in town and decided to stop by for lunch again. To put it simply, the food quality has gone down tremendously... we ordered pho tai and fried rice; the rice pho was extremely salty and left a weird coating in my mouth (probably too muck MSG) and the fried rice was lackluster in taste. The menu was extensive, in English and Vietnamese, and very clearly written. The waitress was also the hostess, phone answerer, and busser of dirty tables. She was patient and precise as she glided around the dining room. Our orders were flawless and leanly packaged (no leaks on the car ride home). WE wanted to try a new Pho experience so we tried Pho Leo. Food is exceptionally good, but service with a smile is NON EXISTENT. The elder lady who is a server was exremely mean and rude. It wasn't just us. We witnessed her being that way to all the patrons that evening. My wife who is Asian is a very mellow person but she said she would never go back with me. She said if i want to go with friends....fine, but don't plan to include her. Additionally the lighting is a bit on the dingy side. I was greeted quickly and seated...the service throughout my meal was great. The restaurant was a little quiet but that was most likely due to the time I arrived (there were only 3 guests inside). I ordered the Firecracker Shrimp as an appetizer (it wasn't spicy but still delicious) and the Rare Steak and Brisket Pho. I ordered a large.....and it was huge! Next time I'll get the regular size portion. The broth is incredible....like pick up the bowl and drink it all up amazing. After checking out the menu I ordered some shrimp spring rolls and Pho Ga. The spring rolls were shrimp, rice vermicelli, lettuce, cilantro and mint rolled in rice paper, and it came with a side of peanut sauce, these were fresh tasty and I love how the mint just pops with flavor. So I only came here because I keep forgetting my favorite Vietnamese restaurant, Sadec Bistro is closed on Mondays. Decided to give this place a shot and was disappointed. Ever since I discovered bun bo hue a few years ago, I always get that over pho. It just has way more flavor. Well this one was ok. The noodles were soggy already and the meat was mostly fat. I just can't eat that part so I always eat around it. I also got fried tofu but it lacked any flavor. They were big pieces though. I also ordered a cup of oolong tea and the server forgot to put the tea packet in it and had just given me hot water. When I waved her down and showed her the hot water though she was embarrassed and gave me a tea packet. There were only 2 other tables there though that were finishing so I'm not sure what happened there lol. My friend just got thai iced tea and egg rolls and she said those were good.
