This was our third time eating at Aqua Di Mare. The first two times, we were blown away by the food and the atmosphere. This time we went to celebrate my husband's birthday. We were very disappointed in our experience. My husband was excited about having the Osso Bucco and I was planning to have Branzino, but we were quickly informed that they were out of both! So then the server talked us into the Dover Sole, which we then ordered. A few minutes later, the manager came to inform us they were out of the Dover Sole so we would need to pick another entree . We also ordered bottle of wine and then informed they were out of that kind of wine. So I ordered the Chilean Seabass and my husband ordered risotto. My husband did enjoy his risotto. The Seabass was very disappointing. It was tough. I had to cut it with a knife. It was very bland! Then we decided to order dessert and we were immediately told they were out of the cannolis ,my husband's favorite. We did order the crêpes which were delicious and prepared at the table. We were quite disappointed in our experience here tonight. Very sad because we really enjoyed this restaurant and we're excited about having a fine dining option in downtown Chandler. read more

Manager Gabe was attentive, Chef Leo is a gem with his food creations and kindness visiting tables and Ashlee was a great waitress. We started with the Octopus and Calamari (fried squid). Both were made to perfection. Great flavor and so tender. A perfect start to the dinner. We had the Caprese and Caesar Salad next. Both had solid flavors, but the Caesar was our favorite. What a treat. Exactly what I'm looking for in a Caesar salad. So good! The pesto on the Caprese was house made and so tasty. I want to try a pesto dish next time. My wife had the Sacchetti Porcini with truffle and it was light and perfectly balanced flavor. The pillows melted in your mouth. Will definitely have again. The Lobster Ravioli had a well balanced limoncello flavor and not too creamy. Cool striped pasta. Perfect for those not super hungry but wanting a unique dish that is sure to please. Steak Nicola was was cooked to perfection and had a suburb combination of black truffle, aus jus and prosciutto cotto to make it a memorable dish. I'm still craving it the day after. The cannelloni for dessert was perfectly Italian with awesome flavors. A perfectly compliment to an amazing dinner. This is a gem is Chandler!!! I had been wanting to try this restaurant for so long and was not disappointed. The wait staff was so attentive and gave great recommendations. I also appreciated the thoughtfulness around the timing of delivering food, that was a nice elevated touch. We shared the burrata and prosciutto appetizer, and I had to have the Caesar salad since it's limited each day and comes with anchovies - yum!! For our mains, I had the lobster di mare, which is cooked table side to perfection. And my date had sacchetti porcini and truffle. We My only complaint was the air circulation. It's summer in Arizona and this place does not have great AC inside. I was quite uncomfortable throughout the meal so next time I'll return in a cooler month, but I will be back to try more of the menu! read more

We recently dined at Acqua Di' Mare with a party of six after making reservations approximately two weeks in advance for a Birthday celebration. The restaurant itself is charming and intimate, and I want to be clear that this review is not directed at the chef or the quality of the food. Unfortunately, I don't feel I can fairly evaluate the meal because the dining conditions overwhelmed the experience. Upon arrival, our party was seated outside despite the temperatures being well into the triple digits. When we questioned the seating arrangement, we were told that indoor seating was limited and they could not accommodate our group inside. However, there was another party of six seated indoors at the time. More importantly, at no point during the reservation process were we informed that our group might be seated outdoors. Had we been told in advance that patio seating was likely, we could have made an informed decision about whether to proceed, choose a different time, or select another restaurant. Instead, we learned this only after arriving. The result was that the heat became the dominant part of the evening. I ordered the carbonara, but the temperature made it difficult to enjoy any rich entrée. In fact, I considered ordering only a salad because of the conditions. By the end of the meal, my lasting memory was not the food, but the discomfort. This is disappointing because the restaurant appears to have potential, and I suspect the food may be much more enjoyable under different circumstances. My criticism is not of the kitchen but of the lack of communication regarding seating expectations, especially during an Arizona summer. I would encourage Acqua Di' Mare to be more transparent when taking reservations for larger parties. A simple heads-up that outdoor seating was likely would have prevented a great deal of frustration and allowed guests to make an informed choice read more

What a sad disappointment. We were excited to try this place and chose it to celebrate our 35th anniversary. We reserved a patio table since it was the only seating available, figuring it would be worth it if the restaurant lived up to the hype of the reviews. Unfortunately, it did not. From the moment we were seated, we felt overlooked. In a nutshell, the server was extremely inattentive. We were not acknowledged for at least 15 minutes which was extremely awkward as we sat dressed to celebrate, and feeling invisible. After finally placing our drink order, it took another 20 minutes for the drinks to arrive. To our dismay - they arrived warm. I ordered a Grey Goose Dirty Martini, and it was served warm. SMH. We also ordered the chilled jumbo prawn appetizer, which unfortunately arrived warm as well - even the cocktail sauce was warm. The shrimp, while large, were dry and flavorless. At that point, it became clear the food quality simply wasn't there. Meanwhile, my husband was already searching his phone for another restaurant. Thankfully, we managed to get into a new place just around the corner. After spending an hour and a half at Aqua, we paid our check and left. The new restaurant delivered exactly the experience we had hoped for - outstanding service, perfectly chilled martinis complete with ice chips, and an excellent meal. I'm honestly floored by our experience here, especially considering the glowing reviews this place receives. Tried to switch it to patio seating but it was already taken by the time I looked again. It's a cute little spot. Parking is always packed on the weekends in this area but I was lucky to find one nearby. This is the kind of place where you slow down without being told to. The cacio e pepe finished tableside in the cheese wheel was both a fun little show and genuinely delicious. Not gimmicky, just very well done. The seafood risotto was fabulous, rich and comforting without being heavy, and clearly made with care. What really stayed with me though was the kindness. This was our first visit for my wife and I (8-23-26). The positive aspects of our meal were one of the best Old Fashions I've ever had and the prosciutto & buratta appetizer was fantastic. The prosciutto melted in your mouth. We were excited and had high expectations for what was to come. But, disappointment set in. My wife had the Acqua de Mare seafood pasta. The pasta was barely cooked, impossible to twirl on the fork. The mussels and scallops was rubbery. The squid however was perfectly done. I had the ossobuco, being a huge ossobuco fan. We've been here twice now, and both visits have been fantastic! I usually stick to the same dish if I love it, but on our second visit we decided to mix it up and order family-style--and I'm so glad we did. My friend sold me on the "pasta made with a cheese wheel" that I'm sure many of us have seen on Instagram, so I definitely ordered the Cacio e Pepe. Apologies in advance to the readers for my novel experience from start to finish. We made a reservation and got sat inside. As soon as we sat down, I instantly wanted to move outside to the fresh air and to escape the very obnoxious patron sitting at the bar (later found out it was the owner). We each ordered a glass of wine and started with the carpaccio appetizer, which was truly the first best thing about this experience. The dish was freshly prepared and it was melt in your mouth goodness. The second best thing was our expensive bottle of wine. Our server got held up at a table, so another server brought us the bottle of wine and un corked it for us. Mind you, this was a $155 bottle of wine in a "fine dining" establishment where our server, not once, poured our wine for us or refilled our glasses as she walked by (mainly because we barely saw her). We were lucky to even get water with out having to stop someone, so I suppose getting a wine pour was going to be out of the question. We ordered the table side Cacio Pepe pasta, the Dover fish (also table side) and the Steak Nicola (table side-ish). For starters the food took over an hour to be at our table, ready for the "table side" experience. The server apologized a few times but in reality, when I walked in the restaurant to use the facilities, the back of the house staff was so busy cleaning the kitchen, rushing around to get out of there, we continued to wait for the one and only chef to prepare our food. Anyway...the food gets there and it's starts off with a very, very under whelming portion of pasta for $47. Not creamy, very sticky, honestly because it felt like the server rushed. Where was the fun table side cheese wheel experience? Hard to say. The Dover Sole was not cut properly, it looks like half the fish was left on the board (see video) and the mashed potatoes (see video posted) were a giant cold BRICK!!!! It was hilariously disgusting. The Steak Nicola was an ackward cut of meat which made the cook temperature very off (see picture/video). The outside wonky pieces were well done, the next bite was medium well and the inside was medium rare. Who wants to ride that roller coaster when eating a steak?! YUM! The only postive was the sauce, the sauce that was poured on top was good. If all of this sounds like a great time, you'll be happy to know the owner and his family were also a giant distraction during our dinner service. The owner, Nikola(?), was talking loudly to the staff about there personal lives, leaving, coming back, bringing his dog and family. Speaking loudly over us on the patio from across the street and into the restaurant. Hey I get it, right? It's a family establishment and some people wouldn't mind this. But for a $390 meal, in a "fine dining" restaurant, I would of expected so much more professionalism from him, our server and the chef who did our table side meal. We won't be back. In fact, even after our server comp'd our pasta and gave us a complimentary brownie dessert, it still didn't make up for the experience we had, and going back would be tragic. To say the least. My husband and I have been raving about this place since we ate here in February for my birthday. A couple of our friends decided to treat us before they left for the holidays to Atlanta where they have a second home. Anyway as usual, the service was magnificent! I ordered the Lobster Di Amare and it felt like it lacked something. I asked them to make it without the tomatoes, so maybe that's what was missing, the acid from the tomatoes. It wasn't bad, but it just wasn't as great as I remember. Now my husband had the paella and that was disappointing. When he ordered the paella in February, it was your traditional paella served on rice and it came with huge prawns, not shrimp. I have to say that again the prawns were huge and everything was cooked perfectly! They've changed the paella and now they serve it over a risotto and the shrimp are just large shrimp, not prawns. Again everyone enjoyed their food and the service, but it just wasn't like it was when we visited in February! Please bring back the paella and make it like you did back in February with the big prawns on the crispy rice. That dish was a showstopper!! Oh yeah, I almost forgot. The mashed potatoes were cold and it was just the big old block of mashed potatoes. The lobster bisque was excellent, but those mashed potatoes, Those were nothing to write home about. They weren't creamy and they were very stiff. They sat there on the plate while the server cooked my lobster. I'm assuming they got cold while sitting there on a plate out in the open. read more

My husband took me here for our anniversary dinner and everything was immaculate! We sat on the patio and it just so happened that there was live music on the corner that was perfect for the vibe. Still unsure if this was intentional or not but my husband swears that they had to be paid because they were playing Italian type music and it made the whole experience that much better. We ordered the cheese wheel pasta, a meat dish and of course, dessert. My husband said he was too full to share a dessert initially but I chose to order the tiramisu anyway and he ended up eating 3/4 of it. He still says it's the best tiramisu he's ever had. I truly don't feel like you could go wrong with any of the food options here. Every time they brought out a dish to another table, we couldn't help but eyeball it because it all looked so good. The table next to us ordered three desserts while we were waiting on our check. Instead of dropping off our check and maybe letting us pay so we could leave. We had to sit and watch our server prepare all the desserts at the table. Cool we got a free show, but we had to wait for them, then another table to get their dessert before he even remembered to give us our check. So that was a bit annoying. I also witnessed a consumer state that their lamb was incredibly undercooked and instead of just cooking it more, they were told that's how it was intended. No raw is not how lamb should be eaten. I really loved my dining experience at Acqua Di Mare. I really had no idea what to expect and my unknown expectations were definitely exceeded! We tried the salad of the day, which was a wedge, rack of lamb, and sacchetti and I love them all! I think the salad of the day was overpriced for what we received ($20) - half head of iceberg with a small handful of crumbled, bacon, blue cheese, and tomato. The entrées were a little on the pricier side, but I thought the quality was fantastic. I absolutely loved the pesto and truffle sauce on the pasta. Bread was brought to the table with olive oil to dip and fresh cut basil. I asked for a side of Parmesan and our server Rachel scraped some of the cheese wheel off for us instead! I'm really upset that I didn't come here sooner. I've walked by this place a hundred times and always saw it was busy. This place did not disappoint. We made reservations for later in the evening and were greeted by a friendly hostess. The waiter was very knowledgeable about the wine list and pairings and made recommendations on the menu. We don't get too many date nights and this was worth every penny. The attention to detail in the food was unreal and loved that you could get a show if you ordered the cacio e Pepe. We will be back for sure to get more of the meatballs and to try their tiramisu which looked insane. read more

This was an AMAZING experience! We came originally to get the cheese wheel pasta but upon talking to our busser and server, we're recommended other things. Everything was great. The ambiance, the kindness, and the food. This is definitely an above and beyond staff. Only downside is how packed it was so the food took a bit to come out. Our first time at ADM and it was a nice experience. The food took a little long, but worth it. Small dining room and too close to others conversation. Be ready to pay $$$$ for MKT dishes so better ask first. This is a must visit if you're looking for a taste of Italian seafood. The staff are great and friendly. We will be back. read more

We went for our birthdays last night. AMAZING! Place is small so definitely get a reservation but the staff is fantastic - Food is beyond amazing and we are from Jersey so we know good food :-). The table side pasta is beyond great. They even cut fresh basil into the olive oils to use with their fresh bread. Everyone loved their meals and we are making plans already to go back.
