The bed area can be closed off, if needed or just keep it open and wake up to the ocean view . It's conveniently located where you can walk to EVERYTHING! It's on a hill so you can either take the stairs (it's a lot) or the funicular. Only reason for 4 stars is the breakfast option (which we included) was just ok. Not enough for husband to be full without paying extra and I really would have loved a luggage rack. I highly recommend this location and would definitely stay here again!

I have stayed twice at Pinnacle Signature across the street from this property and had a great…read moreexperience both times. We tried this one at the recommendation of some friends who used to own at Signature, thinking it would be fun to switch it up and try out the "Adults Only" vibe here. Our experience was a step down from Signature. PROS: The design is an upgrade with respect to Signature from a decor standpoint. And Chic was built literally in front of Signature, blocking the vast majority of its ocean view units. The drinks and food menu are identical between the two properties. The kitchen is full and stocked with everything you might need, though this is not a plus for us (the most we do is store beer and water and microwave some popcorn). Service and security are the same (overall very good). And the rooftop bar is cool, sporting great views, an epic statue, and plenty of seating space. CONS: The rooms are *very* small. We got used to it after the first day. But, it initially felt like we were bumping our elbows and knees on furniture and each other constantly. The bathroom is also small, with no room for two to get ready. The sink looks cool but favors a deep, sloping basin over counterspace. There is no exhaust fan or full length mirror. And the light is inadequate for getting ready. Our safe broke (with valuables inside), but the staff came quickly to fix it. The layout puts the bed farther from the balcony. We liked experiencing the storms in Signature form the bedroom. I also personally missed the shaded area of the pool from Signature, thought the Chic pool is quite beautiful. There's just nowhere to be in the water that is not exposed to direct sun. Typical for a pool I know, but I did feel the difference. The balconies are quite close to each other and offer no privacy at all. But, the views are hard to beat. During check-in we were required to sign a lot of blank papers (pre-paid for the rooms, property policies, a $500 hold on our credit card for damage, etc.) which made me uncomfortable. And we were arbitrarily charged $40 for transportation from the airport that we did not use (Uber is $8). It was a hassle to get it corrected, but they eventually offered to apply it towards incidentals which we'd planned to take advantage of at the pool. So, it worked out. Over all a net-positive experience, though we did try to switch back to Signature only to find nothing available. By the end of the week, we were happy enough in Chic. I think next time we will book Signature.

While it's not always best for walk up beverage ordering it is allowed. However it is best to take advantage of the many polite servers that will take your order poolside and deliver your drinks and food. The location of the resort is fantastic as we are next-door to a fashion mall, cinema, food park and many restaurants within walking distance.

Negatives: My room had a view of both the ocean and the Malecon. It was the least expensive room offered. It was noisy late night since the bars were still open next door. In the mornings about 7am the same bars would play music as they cleaned and prepared for the new day. If you are a light sleeper I recommend upgrading your room selection and not booking a town facing room. The hotel is oceanfront however it does not have a beach. You have to walk 200 ft to the next door property to access a sandy beach. The current is pretty rough and not recommended for kids, in my opinion. Overall: A good place to consider staying and I would stay here again for a couple of nights.
