Yum we were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the service. We almost didn't stop because the reviews on Yelp seemed a little weak but I think they got it wrong. The restaurant is very attractive and the service was first classed. Ricardo was our server and we asked him for their best margarita & he said they had lots to choose from but we wanted fresh squeezed lime and he said he could do that for us! I was so impressed when he came back with two delicious margaritas. We ordered a chili Relleno & beef enchilada dinner and I had two tacos. The chili Relleno was one of the best my husband has ever had and he was very pleased with the enchiladas (plenty of sauce). My tacos were just what I was looking for...simple & delicious. Service was very attentive with water filled & someone coming by to see if we needed anything. I loved the complimentary surprise dessert at the end of the meal! From Montana. Went there last night and the food was absolutely horrible. Ordered Nachos and they messed it up and then took 45 minutes to bring it back so everyone was done eating and I lost my appetite at that point. Chicken was dry as hell and the chips were staler then my ex girlfriends vagina. I would not recommend this place. Would rather go get a mcchicken that eat that nasty shit. On a real note. Decided last minute to eat here. Even turned around after passing. Wasn't sure what to expect but we really enjoyed. We had Daisy and asked to sit outside, they happily obliged. Being the only ones outside had me wondering, but we saw three different servers during our stay so they thoroughly took care of us. The food was really good. The drinks were delicious. The jalapeño margarita was great, but not spicy. The unexpected dessert with the check was fun and delicious! Hopefully the next people who sit outside enjoy as much as us! read more

There was no wait to be seated. Most of the tables are VERY spaced out so there's plenty of distance. Staff is wearing masks, I think gloves as well but I also wasn't paying attention. Started with a margarita which was a great choice! Very refreshing. I ordered a combination platter, chicken enchilada and Chile relleno. The chicken enchilada was pretty tasty but I wasn't impressed with the Chile relleno although it wasn't horrible. My husband had the carnitas which was very well flavored and I know I will order that next time. All in all, it was a good experience. We like that this restaurant is close to home and offers decent Mexican style food at reasonable prices. It is certainly not the best Mexican food I've ever had but it isn't the worst either. The service was fantastic, our waiter was very friendly and attentive to our needs. Because of that we will definitely return. read more

The quality of the food, service, and atmosphere are all consistent. You'll get a standard meal for a fair price and leave generally pleased. Our party of 5 stopped in for lunch today. Our family has been to La Sierra several times now and it has become one of our go-too lunch spots, especially when we're in the mood for Mexican. We ordered the loaded nachos, vegetarian burrito, fish tacos, and chicken chimichanga. We were all generally pleased. As usually, the chips came out hot, the salsa was good, the service was above-par, and the food was quite decent. They even offer a modest complimentary dessert (a small scoop of berry ice-cream on a sopapilla). The atmosphere's is clean and well maintained. La Sierra is worth stopping by if you're traveling through town, wine tasting or visiting Linfield University. And it's worth the drive from McMinnville or Newberg for the locals. Bueno! read more

Solid Four Stars from this Yelper. I had the Chimichanga and the wife had the Beef Enchilada and Chile Relleno special and we were both pleased with our selections. Chips and Salsa were very good and service was great with the entire establishment being spotless. The real kicker was the Sorbet they bring out at the end of the meal! IMHO, the only recommendation I could make would be for them to make their own tortillas. read more

Found this little gem while traveling towards Portland from the coast. Plenty of good parking for larger vehicles which was a must. Immediate service even with a full parking lot which was surprising. Tons of food choices with incredibly fair pricing. Portions were large and the meal did not disappoint at all. This La Sierra was a bit disappointing. During the summer I entered the building and there was no AC so I had to go to the one in Newberg which was much more relaxing. The service was pretty slow. Nobody really came up to you and asked for any refills or anything. The food can be overcooked and undercooked sometimes. I did order some nachos PLANE BUT THEY HAD PIECES OF LETTUCE AND HAIR IN IT! The silverware was also not clean, which was disgusting. If you want to go to La Sierra, I would suggest you to go to the one in Newberg or Forest Grove. Stopped here on a very long ride home from the beach. The building inside and out is very fun, colorful and inviting. There is a LOT of seating, so you should never have to worry about waiting for a table. The decor is bright and cheery, everything is clean. The service was fast, almost too fast. Our meals arrived before the server was even able to bring our sodas. This is perfect for a family, fair prices, large portions but flavors are safe, no "wow" factor. I drive past this restaurant everyday to and from work and it there is always a lot of cars in the parking lot. I love Mexican food so that definitely drew my attention and motivated me to try this place out! The restaurant is pretty big and also has a nice size bar. Once you are seated they give you chips and salsa one mild and one hot. My boyfriend and I both ordered nachos. He got grilled chicken and I got beef. Nachos come with beans, cheese, pico, your meat of choice, sour cream and guac. I later decided to add in some olives. Now I know nachos aren't really considered an authentic Mexican dish but it was flavorful and very satisfying. The customer service is good. Our waiter checked in on us periodically and always made sure my cup was filled with my beverage. He even gave us complementary desert! They are decently priced and portions are just right.
