I feel like LASG is broken into subgroups with such a high turnover rate that no one really knows what is going on. Let's pick up where we left off. On 4/4/23, LASG finally owned up to the leaky roof and said they would make the appropriate repairs. We scheduled a repair roughly a month later on 5/2/23 after about 2 weeks of finding a repair team. No one showed up... I was given a lackluster excuse by Paul B. of LASG and then strung along for an additional 3+ weeks of being unable to place me on the schedule. I am currently in the process of taking LASG to small claims court to retrieve $10,000 to remove the panels, replace the damaged underlayment, and replace the original roof tiles along with any glued up tiles LASG left among other costs. Through the small claims process, I have sent out a demand letter at the end of May to their office and through an email to Paul B. & Hagop K. to see if they'd pay for the damages to avoid court. They never responded, so small claims court it is. LASG reached out to me 7/5/23 asking me to remove/update my review to reflect the improvements that have been made. Check out LASG's response on 7/26/23 to my initial review "As of now, our records indicate all issues have been resolved." You guys didn't do anything! My roof was still damaged throughout September, my demand letters were ignored, and I'm literally taking you guys to court. I gave you guys every chance to make it right but you guys fell short every time since this started nearly 10 months ago. As for their recent update on their own review on 10/10/23, their "attempts" to reach out to me to came in July and September! At that point we were way past the point of anything besides a cash resolution because I have already submitted paperwork to take them to small claims with our court date set at the end of October. To add insult to injury, they basically rescinded their statement on how the water damage was from their solar installation and are denying all accountability again. If you're a prospective customer, be sure to take a look at ALL reviews. Search "leaks" and check out the reviews from the past year. There are LITERALLY TEN 1 STAR reviews in 2023 regarding leaks, not including mine, and the year isn't even over! Look for patterns in their workmanship, communication, and no show appointments. If you're in a position like me and LASG is failing to honor their warranty or just doing a terrible job, check out "People Clerk" online. They streamline the process and paperwork of taking a company to small claims but the caveat is a 10k max limit. Good luck! read more

We installed solar from LA Solar Group 3 years ago. I have reached out to the company to review why every year our production has gone down. I have had responses from them but nobody has looked into this and gotten back to me. It has been over a month since I notified them of this issue as well as 2 other issues I will add on a little later, that hasn't been taken care if either. Before you commit look at our actual production... sorta sucks that every year we have lost production with no notice from them or alerts of a system that is declining... I was told before we installed their website was good and was monitored for issues... for us it hasn't been the case. It's a big expense when choosing any solar company, when they say your panels are guaranteed for 20-25 years you should be aware of how a company takes care of you AFTER you pay them a small fortune when you have questions. LA Solar Group did exactly what they said they would do and were on time or ahead of schedule with all aspects of the project. We were referred by a family member to Alex B who was our energy consultant. He provided us with an estimate which was right in line with the estimates that we got from two other companies. We could tell he knew the industry inside and out. Alex did an excellent job explaining the PV system. It was a "0" sales pressure experience. Alex responded quickly and with a very positive attitude any time we called with a question or concern. Any questions we had were answered in a very timely manner and he managed our project phenomenally. The solar crew who did our installation was great. I have had my system for 8 years. Recently had a message that "No microinverters are reporting data to the Envoy". I have spent three weeks trying to get an appointment for someone to come out to service the system. I have spoken to two reps (Caglar and Deeana) both promised to give me a call back with an appointment day and time. Caglar hasn't answered his extension since my first call and Deeana is apologetic but doesn't return calls and has not set an appointment for a service call. After a little research I have heard from other installers that LA Solar Group seems to forget their customers after the system is installed and leaves maintenance to other installers. I will be giving Deeana one last call today. Then I will be forced to use another installer to do LA Solar Groups work. So frustrating and unnecessary! Update: Deeana got me an appointment! She was very good and worked with me in setting it up. She gave a date that was convenient. Will update again after the service call. read more

I've never had to contact service after the installation because it's been running with no issues... recently my monitoring app showed an error. I would NOT recommend the LA Solar Group. 1) Their pre-installation communication was terrible, 2) They did not co-ordinate with the roofers we had hired, 3) They failed to properly manage the permit process, and 4) They failed to obtain our PG&E permission to operate (PTO) in a timely manner (and then only after a lot of help from the client that should never have been necessary). LA Solar Group (LASG) was the second installer arranged for by Tesla Solar to install an Enphase solar PV system on our roof (13 x 450-watt panels). (The first company wanted to replace half of our roof first but would not tell us what kind of roof they were going to install. That was a deal-breaker.) The hardware that LASG installed was fine, BUT: 1) They invoiced us for the full amount ($14,400) two days BEFORE the scheduled June installation date. 2) LASG's installation crew and office were unresponsive to calls and emails from our local roofer, who could not reach and coordinate with the LASG installation crew for the best outcome. (Our roofer's office manager was ready to blow a gasket.) And the LASG crew showed up later in the morning of the roofer's second day on the job, just barely in time. 3) LASG did not update the original permit when the original panels specified (14 x 400-watt panels) were unavailable: we were upgraded to 13 x 450-watt panels but LASG never submitted modified plans showing this change. Our PV system failed its first inspection on June 8. On June 14, LASG's *revised* plans reached the city. Two weeks later, LASG's revised plans were approved and the system passed inspection on July 11. But the "fun" wasn't over. 4) LASSG forgot to send a new placard for the front of the solar system panel showing the layout of the system they had installed. (This caused another 48-hour delay while someone drove the placard up from Fresno or wherever.) 5) for ther next 10 days or so, LASG kept asking ME for the "revised permit" for the 13 x 450-watt system that I had never seen. (LASG had submitted plans for the updated system after the-fact but never picked up the revised permit.) Our PG&E permission to operate (PTO) was delayed - again - for yet another week nd we received our PTO today (July 27, about a month later than we expected to receive it.) NOTE: We ARE happy with the actual technicians who installed our system and came to the house thereafter for the (TWO) city inspections that were required. For both inspections, the guys who came to the house were professional, knowledgeable, and clearly competent. And our system seems to be working OK. Unfortunately, LASG'sd terrible lack of communication with us and our roofer leading up to and following our installation was completely unacceptable, as were their failures to: a) update the solar permit with new plans when substitution became necessary, and b) secure the revised city permit that PG&E required before they would issue our PTO. It seemed as if I had to tell the LASG how to get a copy of the revised permit that was their responsibility all along. I would not recommend LA Solar Group. About two weeks after I posted this review I got a call from someone at LA Solar claiming to be investigating what I had written and assuring me that they wanted to "make it right" with me - even going back to the delays on the initial installation. She asked lots of detailed questions which would have required me to get out my files and look up information. I told her I was not going to do that since we had already shifted our business to a different company. She assured me that she would call me back with her findings, set a specific date and time for that return call. And guess what?? No follow up call was ever made. Be sure to contact Enphase, or the solar company that manufactured your components, and have LA Solar removed from your account. If you don't do that, they can still access and monitor your system. We also found out that some company we have never heard of was listed as the owner and monitor of our Enphase system and we advised to contact that owner for assistance in resolving the problem! Since we did not finance our purchase but paid cash, there should have been no other "owner" on the account but us. We had that removed as well. I got started looking into solar by door to door salesman. After giving him my previous power bills for a quote for my house (1500 sq ft with pool and giant ac unit). The quote was etremely high ( around 70k). That prompted my seatch. LA solar had good reviews so i contacted them and got a quote. All paperwork was done via email and questions were answered by text or calls by the same sales rep. Starting the quote process to having the solar installed and useable in about four months. The price was very good (about 23k). I got another quote from a local company and it was comparable in price but i got a guarantee that if i didnt produce enough power LA solar would add an extra panel no charge. Overall easy process, good sales, install took two days. Longest waiting time was for the permits, which the company pulled. LA solar works with banks to assist with financing. My suggestion would be to get your own financing if you cant afford to pay cash since the companies they work with charge an additional fee on top of the interest. Overall great experience. Finally after a year of fiasco, LA solar sent out some one competent. While we are still waiting to see if everything can be resolved. Rep was finally able to locate issue for both reporting and roof leak. I'm glad LA solar at the very least took time to get someone here to make up for their mistakes. When we first got our system a few years ago, we couldn't have been happier. Estimation, installation, everything went great. Sales and installers were all very pleasant to work with and the system performed well. Now, however, we've had a problem with the system losing connection to the Internet. The first call I made, I got hung up on. The second call I made, I was told I would get a call back; never received it. I called again and was told to email regarding the problem, and to include a picture of the panel. When I sent that in, we finally got an email, then a call back: "Are you available in 30 minutes for a technician?" Sure! Great! (Not like we've got lives to lead or anything...) The technician came out, parked **across the street** for well over AN HOUR, and then took off (photographic evidence supplied upon request). Never knocked on our door, never came to our gates, never saw the panel/system or even got within 50 feet of it. Just. Took. Off. I called immediately: "Your tech just took off. Never even came to the door." Was told, "Oh, you need a Wifi Extender." Wait, wut? Your lazy-ass tech parks across the street for an hour taking a nap, never looks at our system, and diagnoses that we need a Wifi extender? FROM ACROSS THE FRICKIN STREET?!?!? Was pushed over to someone else to schedule an appointment. Asked for a supervisor. Got pushed to - Go Figure! - a voicemail box to leave a message. So now, we're here. To Anyone Looking for a Solar Company: gawd help you if you use this one and need service again. Would highly recommend ANY OTHER COMPANY, sight unseen. To Any Competitors to L.A. Solar: This is an excellent opportunity for you to swoop in and offer service contracts. Please, for the love of all the cosmos, do so, post haste! And To L.A. It roughly took 8 months to complete what they consider a completed job to be done. More than a dozen missed appointments / NO CALL NO SHOW. Every Time I speak with them they promise everything and anything and disappear. From their sales rep to the customer service to managers to techs. During the install they damaged more then 60% of my roof tiles and told me they will replace it while breaking more tiles in the process. They Broke/Damaged my outdoor Camera, outdoor Speaker, outdoor Light, Rain Gutters, Cracked Stucco, Roof / Roof Tiles,. Drilled a screw right into the bathroom tile breaking it. I didn't even know until I took a shower and cut my foot on the broken glass. It's been over a year and I am still waiting for repairs. Since day one 4 of the panels have not been working, They told me they would change the inverter and said they ordered it and will arrive in a few weeks. When the tech showed up he brought a used and dirty inverter. I told him I don't want used equipment installed and he assured me it's new. After installing it, it did not work and he said I must have picked up the wrong one. I will go to the office and be back in an hour. It's been over a year. How far is the office???? During the sales pitch they assured me they have 24/7 monitoring and if anything goes wrong they will be out to fix the issue before I even notice. What a joke that was. They lied during the sales pitch and lied throughout the whole project.They told me for the amount of panels I need I will have to do a panel upgrade and only installed 1/3 of the panels they said I needed . They assure you in every way till you sign the contract then the games start. When I asked them for their insurance / bond info so I can make a claim to have my house repaired they gave me the run around for 2 months then said go through your own insurance it is not our issue. The sheer negligence by this company must be stopped. This company does Inadequate Maintenance / repairs, Causes Property damages, Installs Used/Damaged equipment, No Show to appointments, AND has a history of Promissory Fraud, Breach of contract and Negligence. If you want quality service, you need a responsive customer service rep and if you do any work with LA Solar, deal strictly with Brandon (805) 406.1436 /Brandon@lasolargroup.com. Originally I got stuck with a different rep and he was terrible. I wanted solar and wanted to go quickly but this particular rep never returned my calls or emails. I was about to go with a different company but got lucky enough to get switched to Brandon and everything changed. I told him I wanted to go quickly and he knew what I wanted and every single time, he would always get back to me within one day. He helped fast track everything and I got everything installed and passed LADWP inspection in 34 days!!! I repeat, 34 days!!! He had a portal that I used to communicate with him, the installer, and the electrician. The quote I received was much more affordable than the other quotes even though I got the latest tech. When you're buying a system worth over $30k you need someone to answer questions and B was awesome just being patient and responsive. Couple things: (1) a lot of reps out there don't work at La solar but try to get your business then outsource the work, skip the middle man and just go straight to the source. Everything is faster that way. (2) La solar right now has the best bang for buck per watt per panel. The "better" panels are 2-3% better but want over $100 per panel, not worth it, save your money and just get an extra panel. (3) Having a rep that answers your emails and your texts in a timely fashion makes the entire experience pleasant. If you go with La solar but don't use Brandon as your rep and you complain about things not working out or going too slow, that's on you for choosing the wrong rep. Now that you know, hit up Brandon. If you have an EV, you need to go solar, it's worth it and since now the government will pay for up to 30% of it, it's a no brainer. Also with La solar I was able to put 0 down and the finance price I pay per month is lower than my monthly electricity bills which made the decision easy. Just hit up Brandon and let him guide you to electricity freedom. Whenever you buy a home, it's a large purchase, a BIG ordeal and we all trust our agents to represent us and communicate with us throughout the process. Go with Brandon and let him guide you. I originally purchased solar from LA Solar, they were not great at communicating, were a bit delayed in installing, but eventually came through. More recently I decided to add some Tesla Powerwalls to my system and I decided to try LA Solar again. They installed the Powerwalls which was very complicated ordeal with lots of new panels and conduit. It took most of the day and they didn't finish until the sun was going down, so they said they couldn't commission the battery, they'd come back to do that, but no worries since we didn't have permission to operate (PTO). Later they had to come back to do the inspection. Only had a few minor issues noted, which were fixed promptly and the inspector passed the system. Finally got PTO, had a bit of a rough time getting anyone out to commission my system, but they finally did. Deducted one star for the delays in commissioning, but the install looks solid and the batteries are performing as expected with my previous solar install. Now I am fully solar, with enough batteries to back up my whole house. All said and done, I'd use LA Solar again. read more

Finally after ~2 years we've had a few rains that didn't come into my bedroom, so I'm temporarily upgrading my review to two stars, assuming that LA solar will continue to follow through with their stated plans to resolve the remaining issues on my list (all more than 2 years old): 3. The electrical conduit on the outside of my house (not shown in the design I agreed to) has not been painted to match the surface it is run on. This work has been pending for almost two years. 4. Here's the most important thing I learned during my saga with LA Solar: when you install solar, you will be working with that company for years and years. Your relationship does NOT end when the installation ends (which itself can take an agonizingly long time with LA Solar). So my solar does work. I should be clear about that. It does. Most of the time. If the grid power goes out, it doesn't power itself back up correctly. And they can't figure that out. I've given up trying. But it literally took more than 10 visits from LA Solar to get my new installation up and running - that's not counting initial site visits before I signed the contract. And, naturally, they promised me it would be done by the end of the year, and it three more months for them to finally finish. Each "team" that comes out has no idea what the previous group did. There is zero continuity here. And some teams can handle batteries and some can't. It's a total mess, and you'll be the one sorting the mess out if you make the mistake of signing a contract with these people. The promises they made were NOT kept at all. And in the two years since, I've had several problems. Trying to reach these guys to deal with my problems is painful. I have a lot of friends asking me for solar referrals, and all I can tell them is, do NOT work with LA Solar. Yes, LA Solar offers me a referral fee for new leads, but no, I will not do that to my friends. Never. TL;DR - find any other company for your PV installation read more

Very nice products with the in-house built solar panels and smart panel, in addition to the Tesla Powerwall battery and gateway. I appreciate the information provided to me from my salesperson, Norm, to ensure I would be a satisfied customer. Very well designed and implemented- installers took care for laying out cabling from solar panels to battery. Did a professional and thorough job to implement the smart panel; took a long, full day to properly install and ensure electricity is working (Musheg and Vahe et al). When LA Solar personnel are here to do the job, the job is high quality. Simbat did a great job with finishing off the smart panel installation (support, stucco and painting) For feedback: my salesperson said he is also the product manager. I'm not sure if that was to provide reassurance to me because I wanted the process to be smooth, but the management of steps along the way and making sure progress is being made is lacking. I don't believe my salesperson was privy to the process of the different organizations' schedule and what had transpired. Perhaps if there are "project management tools" to help with the various stages and organizations that each could sign off on indicating what is next and the customer can see. There was a big lag (1.5 months) between inspection and what I thought was the next step of PTO; Amil who was here for the inspection told me that was the next step. Since nothing was happening, I poked the utility company for information on PTO but finally got information that there were two permits that needed inspections: solar panels/smart panel is one and the battery inspection was next in the queue. Finally got it back rolling and PTO was granted. When asked to provide the final amount since PTO was granted, I requested that the smart panel installation with stucco finished and battery and gateway be integrated to finally complete my project. I appreciate that Candice from billing scheduled the stucco work at my request but I shouldn't have to. I appreciate the information and time spent with Melanie, Monitoring Specialist, on the inverter app. She directed me to Caglar for any info that I could have on the smart panel controlling the battery. I am NOT pleased with the communication to get this finished: it took the third scheduled appt to get the gateway installed, no communication with me to tell me status thus I waited both times for them to come. Musheg and his crew finally came on a Saturday to complete the task- very apologetic about the schedule, professional, and took the time to go thru the Tesla app with me. Melanie provided me with more assistance with the usage monitor and is willing to help me in any way possible. So communication with the process to the customer is lacking. The Customer Service Department did send out an email in the beginning of the project with some links and said I could check out my progress by "design my solar app" https://app.designsolar.io/ This is insufficient and lacking in accuracy. LA Solar is great at requesting payment per the contract stipulation. I would suggest changing the final payment to be when all is completed and then LA Solar Group will issue a lien release form https://cslb.ca.gov/Resources/GuidesAndPublications/LienReleaseForms.pdf that includes the warranties including the warranty if First Year Solar Production is not met. read more

Had a disconnection issue of my Enphase app. After Enphase tech determined I needed a replacement component, they later said my ownership documentation needed confirmation. I called LASolarGroup who communicated directly with Enphase to resolve the issue. Enphase notified me, as a result LASolarGroup reaching out to them, they approved the replacement component as part of the warranty coverage. LASolarGroup has been in business for many years, unlike some other solar companies. LaSolarGroup said 5 yrs ago, in our first home, we had qualified for specific extra rebates for Tesla batteries and indeed we received those rebates on top of the tax credits for entire system. Other companies had no idea about the process for such specific rebate and even gave me information i knew was not accurate just to get me to sign with them. LA Solar installed my very large solar system in summer of 2017. Each year since then I have had refunds from SC Edison and system seemed to working properly. This past June 2023, I received a terrible surprise that I owed more than $1800 for my annual bill. Apparently, I had been racking up additional energy charges each month, but LA Solar failed to notify me whether or not my system was producing properly. Their last communication to me had been in Feb 2022. When I called LA Solar, they admitted that the manufacturer of the inverters (Lead Solar) had gone out of business, and that they had no ability to monitor my system. Apparently Lead Solar had gone bankrupt over a year (?) ago, and thus LA Solar had NOT been monitoring my system at all during that time. After many calls and e-mails back and forth -- most of the time LA Solar insisting that my system was producing fine, but perhaps I had increased my usage (I had not changed my usage this past year and compared to the previous 5 years when I had always received refunds from Edison) -- they finally agreed to schedule a technician visit and to install a monitoring device. The earliest appointment was over a few weeks away, and meanwhile my Edison bill continues to rack up each month. On the day of the appointment, LA Solar cancelled due to technician absence, and rescheduled for me later that week. At 4pm on a Friday, the technician appears and seems confused by the monitoring device that he is supposed to install, because he is not familiar with it and he does not actually have it in his possession (and LA solar did not send this device directly to me.) The customer service sent word to their "operations manager" for this "delivery failure" and told me they would update me when it was figured out. I mean, really?! Weeks ago, no one knew the device would need to be delivered to my residence? I had to contact them again today (days later) only to be told again that they are still figuring it out. Their disregard for the urgency of my situation could not be more apparent. Instead, the customer rep continues to maintain that my system is working and that he seems to be at a "good amperage level" -- again, without any information about what my system was producing before and what it is currently producing. So warning to those still considering this company or any other solar company -- this is a long term relationship. We didn't have issues in the first 5 years, but we still have 19 years left on these panels. Because I was having a hard time finding EV installer without my final approval of my battery storage, LA solar did it for me for FREE prior to my final inspection. They also followed up with me on how to properly operate my system. LA solar group worked with us all throughout the process, filling up the necessary paperworks for the SGIP program, which made the system practically free.
