My overall rating for LA Solar is 4.8 stars. Working with the LA Solar Group in general was a very good experience. The project design and working with the company's personnel was excellent. The project coordinator (Tom V) provided great assistance and swiftly responded to questions and concerns about delays encountered. Tom ensured that the company personnel were kept informed of my concerns about the process movement and helped to ensure the installation proceeded in a reasonable manner. The LA Solar onsite personnel involved in the initial site inspection, installation, and final inspection process were knowledgeable and displayed both company and consumer concern. They kept me well informed of the system work conducted and future activities. Their work ethic was extremely high and they should be commended for the work conducted. The time for to design the system, obtain necessary permits, complete installation, have the final inspection completed, and obtain the permit to operate (PTO) is significantly longer than the company initially estimates. Since I had already been through the nearly a four month process about 10 years previously, I knew that the short timelines of about one month that was initially presented could never be achieved. In general, the project moved as expected except for the time involved between obtaining a building permit and scheduling installation. A period of several weeks between issuing of the permit and starting installation was excessive and resulting in my questioning the delay. However, since the PTO from PG&E was received in a matter of days instead of the expected 3-6 weeks because the LA Solar solar project was considered to be an add-on to an existing solar system. Therefore, the resulting total time involved for completeion of the solar system was as expected even though a few unexpected delays were encountered. LA Solar is recommended as a very good company for a solar installation. However as with any company contracted, the speed of work completion should be monitored and questioned as needed. With coordination with a good company project coodinator, the system installation with be completed in a reasonable time. read more

I can't keep my 5-star review up after going through a leak claim process using their "25 Year Roof and Penetrations" warranty. I'm currently writing this review with a hole in my master closet and water leaking through it with rain currently happening. Too long didn't read: LA Solar Groups Roofers and Customer Service ghosted me, leaving me with a leak to deal with on my own. No-shows appointment, with no explanation after several assurances and asking me to re-confirm for another appointment a week out and with 5 days of heavy rain from now until then. I notified LA Solar of this leak 4 days ago, on a Thursday. I had my third-party roofer come out to take a look on the same day, stating that this leak was caused by the solar company (LA Solar Group) and that to contact them for the fix. I warned them that rain was coming the following Monday evening and Tuesday all day. On that same Thursday, I was told by Customer Service (named Amethyst) that someone would come out that tomorrow (Friday). The next day to follow up, I reached out to Customer Service once again, this time someone by the name of Candice, she stated the person giving the information yesterday was incorrect, that no one will be showing up today (Friday) that Amethyst was new and actually mean the case will be reviewed on Friday. Candice stated that she was going to expedite this case and to send photos to Customer Service and Roofing. The same day, after no answers after sending photos the morning of and after finally getting a hold of someone, they stated to look out for a text to schedule me in for Monday 01/09. I kindly ask if at any all possible, to send someone out the same day on Thursday 01/06. The gentlemen by the name of Jack stated their roofers were in Pomona and might be able to but no promises and will contact me back. I notified them that it WILL be raining on Monday and Tuesday so it's cutting it really close. Later that Friday at 3:19 PM, no word back from Jack to have the roofers come by from Pomona, I received a text requesting me to confirm for a scheduled visit for Monday 01/09. Awesome! I reiterated that to please confirm that if they come out and are unable to repair it in a timely matter to patch it up so that damage will not further be caused. Monday morning rolls by, the day of my supposed scheduled appointment date. I call in to Customer Service and spoke to Sophia, she transferred me to someone and they assured me that someone will be coming out later today (Monday afternoon). The afternoon rolls by and no calls, text or anything. A little worried since rain is in the forecast tonight, I phone back. Once again, they assured me that someone will be out and I am their last appointment for the day. 4:12 PM that same Friday, I get a text from the same Customer Service line that originally confirmed me for 01/09 is now confirming if I'm available for 01/16, the following Monday. That's 7 whole days with no explanation of why I'm being bumped. That's 5 days of rain and thunder storms in between now and when they're supposedly going to come out. This is unacceptable. Avoid LA Solar Group as much as possible. This was my second property I've had LA Solar Group work on, there was no issues up until now. You'll immediately get a human to speak to when pressing "1" for sales in a rainbow of languages but good luck attempting to reach anyone in support or roofing, scheduling, monitoring with any answer if you happen to even reach them.. after calling over a dozen times and leaving multiple messages, emails and text. LA Solar installed my system in 2015 - they were super responsive, efficient, and professional. Recently most of my microinverters stopped reporting, so I contacted them yesterday. This morning Gurgen arrived and got to work troubleshooting the system. After a thorough check off all 8 panels, he was able to get all but 1 back working, and noted 1 or 2 others were not performing well. Sorry to say things have NOT gotten better. We are 4 months from my last review and no closer to getting our solar. They do not ever meet the deadlines they set for themselves and then they do not communicate with you any of the changes. My permits, which I really doubt they have even done, were suppose to be approved by 3/15/23 per their customer service. I reached out on 3/26 and got this message back on 3/28: "The project your project is specific based on the drawing and some other factors and that is the reason for the delay you have. The City sent us some additional changes to do and we submitted them. So the building and safety department is reviewing them and providing the approval." This just adds to my concerns as we are not in the city we are in the unincorporated area and our permits should be going through the county not the city. I have said this to them so many times I have lost count. As for my sales rep... well, as with all sales people, they start out great! Unfortunately, some sales people drop the ball when they get the sale. I have given up on him. I sent my last message to my sales rep, Rob, on 12/21/22 and have not heard back from him yet. So to start this review, I was looking for a solar company, and thought I was getting Tesla. From the start I explained that we just bought the house and will not need this for a while. Discovered two more leaks coming from under the solar panels into the house. One was a leak that was supposed to have been repaired previously and started leaking again. The second leak was in a different part of the roof. Sent a service request through the website, the company requested pictures the next day and had a team out to inspect 3 days later on Mar 10. 4 days from my service request to having an inspection. The roofing team said that screws had not had silicon put in place and a piece to also guard against water was not installed. I was told to wait for the report and that I would be kept up posted on information on Mar 16. I received silence. Multiple attempts on my side were made to ask about the status. On Apr 3 I was told a team was already out to visit and the repairs were completed. No one had come. I believe this may have been an actual, honest mistake as on Mar 23 of 2022, roofers needed to repair the previous roof leaks. Apr 3 I called in and was told that a team would come to patch the leaks. Again, silence. On Apr 12 I called and after being transferred around I was told that I was tentatively scheduled for Apr 18 and that there will be a call to confirm later on the 12th or on the 13th. I will have to wait to see if this actual happens. Still not having a good experience with this company. read more

Wanted to give an update to my reviews. It took some time, but eventually, my project was successfully completed. The project passed all final inspections, and output has been what I had expected it to be. All in all, I am satisfied with the project now that it has been completed. Ultimately, I ended up being out a few months, and a bit of frustration, but the end result meets my expectations. As mentioned previously, the installation itself went pretty well, and their were no roof leaks. The only real frustration was a few no calls, and some organizational / communication issues with inspections. Take my reviews with a grain of salt though; I know it was a tough year for most solar companies operating in CA where NEM 3.0 went into affect, plus the solar credit, on top of a highly unusually rainy year for SoCal. The customer service team reached out to me several times to make sure everything was moving forward, and that I was satisfied. They apologized for the delay, and paid me the value of the energy that the panels would have produced had they been operational by the expected completion date. The offer was fair. As I mentioned already, I was out only some time and frustration. I hope my review helps with your decisions. read more

All; Today is December 10, 2022. No response over a week and a half from LA Solar Group (California Branch ) -Anar or his team . Texas Solar Group is part of LA Solar Group. The same owner . I signed a Guaranteed contract with them for solar production of over 19,000 KWh, unbeknownst to me ; they switched my Contact to 14,000 KwH!. Now that my system has been underproducing below the original contract ; they are telling me the 19,000 KwH was a mistake? And they recommended I purchase a Tesla Solar Battery ( which we did through them) to assist in the underproduction. Anar is the owner and His team has left us with huge Electric Bills . My family ; friends and Coworkers do NOT Recommend this Solar company . Be Weary and read their contracts if you decide to be scammed by them . They have numerous complaints in the BBB in California and now they are expanding to Las Vegas and Texas. Good luck . read more

5yr review. LA Solar Group has mostly held up their end of the bargain, however it is 100% on you as the homeowner to keep on them. Our whole home battery failed while under warranty, but we didn't get any notice of failure at any point until I contacted LASG. So much for them monitoring your systems. Once I notified them they sent out a tech to confirm that indeed the battery was inoperable and processed a warranty claim. Fast forward a few months later, the replacement battery was sent by the manufacturer and it's been a month of emails and fake appointments, and no shows by LASG. It's a repeat of the past, on me to call, call and call to have LASG come out and finish the work. Neighbors have asked about who we used our solar and I can't recommend LASG for post sale service. read more

Today David from LA Solar came to meet the county inspector regarding installation of an additional battery to my solar. County passed the installation as they always have because LA Solar has an excellent installation crew. Before David left he noticed that one of my other batteries was off line. I told David that the installation guys had noticed that and were going to try to solve the problem on line. Later in the day David returned to say he wanted to take another look at the off line battery. Later David told me that TESLA had declared the battery defective and would be sending a new one for LA Solar to install.. David was courteous, competent and effective. PREDATORY BEHAVIOR, AVOID AT ALL COST. If you don't want to believe me, look at their records. As of this post, they have had 31 complaints in the last year alone to the BBB for roof leaks and crappy workmanship, rating 2.48/5 on their website. On the CSLB'S website (Contractor's state Licensing Board), LA Solar has changed their surety bond company (job insurance) at least 6 times in the last 2 years alone!! Our city's inspectors have nothing but bad things to say about this company's work. The solar repair service that we contacted to review their shoddy job says they service the victims of this predatory company more than any other. What is worse, is now they can add fraud to their resume as they digitally forged our 75 year old father's signature for an unauthorized PPA lease agreement via a DocuSign for an 8-panel addition. As of recently they are attempting to sue for foreclosure for $10,000 on an unfinished job with botched wiring that caused the original system's inverter to blow out. If we hope to own the addition, they installed they claim it will cost $15,000. What a business model. read more

I had a mixed experience working with LA Solar Group. Our salesperson Randely's communication was excellent and she did a good job reaching out to the other teams at LA Solar to get our installation completed. The final solar installation looks good, however, my issues are with the electrical installation coordination and system performance: Issues: - Electrician came to install the new main breaker panel and broke open the stucco all around the corner of our house. LA Solar did not schedule an inspection the next business day, instead waiting almost a week before the City Inspector could inspect the panel, during the only rainstorm of the summer. Our house was left open to the elements on the most exposed corner through the rain, and the wall interior was soaked. We hope this does not create a mold problem. - The electrician did not use both correct grounding rods (one stainless steel), so the inspector had them come back to correct the issue, adding more days to the open wall situation. - We had to ask for every update from the LA Solar Operations team during this period, as they were not proactive at all during the installation process. - Once the inspection passed, they came back to close up the wall and paint, but did not get enough paint to cover the grounding wire, which goes all the way around our house including the front of the house. We now have an exposed piece of silver flex conduit all around a blue house (tacky). - We paid for a 7.2 kW installation, however only 6 kW of inverters were provided, producing a maximum of 5.2 kW on our sunniest day since install. Slightly disappointed with the performance of the "high efficiency" panels that LA Solar reps as their company-branded product. Hopefully they improve by next summer when the solar angle is higher/more direct. Overall: - Randely followed up with updates when available, and was always friendly through this process. - Installation coordination could have been majorly improved. - Electrician was a friendly guy, but the timing of the work created an open wall situation at a very bad time. Hoping for no mold after our wall being open through a storm. - Total time through the project was June 29th (initial information) to October 6th (final monitoring startup) - Company was extremely flexible with their payment options. I hope that LA Solar stands behind their product - I'd recommend Randely, but the team behind her needs some help scheduling projects and staying on top of the proactive communication.
