Such a fun neighborhood joint. It's in a strip mall, but that seems par for the course in the 'burbs. So don't judge the location. As soon as you walk in, friendly staff will greet you. We got the mushroom and sausage with red sauce and then the pistachio clam pasta. Oh my goodness! That pizza! Light as air crust. Not overly loaded with stuff but enough to be yummy. I could prob eat a whole pizza solo. And that pasta! It's so different than the light pizza. Decadent and unctuous with fresh but de-shelled manilla clams, the pasta was mind-blowing. Came in for lunch on a Sunday around noon. Staff was welcoming, friendly and helpful. The owner was super nice as well. It's located in a strip mall with plenty of parking available. They have a combination of two and four top tables in the dining area. They offer a nice variety of pizza, salad and dessert options. Pricing is comparable to other wood fire Italian pizza restaurants in the area. We ordered the Margherita and Honey Formaggi. Both were excellent. The pizza crust was so pillowy on the inside and had a nice crisp on the outside. Toppings tasted fresh and high quality. We also ordered the Burrata Scapece to try while we waited for our pizzas. It was fresh and delicious. A wonderful combination of cheese, arugula tomatoes and zucchini. We only wished it came with more crostini. For dessert we tried the Torta Caprese and Cannolo. Both were delicious. The torta tasted like it had amaretto in it, so yummy! The cannolo was so creamy and had a perfect combination of sweet. We loved the chopped pistachios and mini chocolate chips on the ends. My husband enjoyed the candied ginger as well. Overall we were very happy with our first visit here. We went here for dinner on a weeknight and had an excellent experience. It was fantastic! The weather was perfect so we sat outside. We started with the Caprese salad and it was excellent. The tomatoes had such vibrant flavor. They tasted homegrown from the chef's own garden. That was one tasty salad. The wife and I split a sausage and mushroom pizza. The crust was light and chewy. It was super thin except for the crust. The crust had the perfect char. Great flavor. The sausage was probably the best I ever had in terms of flavor and texture. The mushrooms were not the usual cremini but something else that I don't know but they were exotic. Great, great pizza. The kid had her ubiquitous pasta with red sauce and said she was "in heaven." Obviously, she loved it. For dessert we had the Angioletti, which are fried bits of pizza dough covered with Nutella and powered sugar. Wow, it was good. Light, not greasy, great flavor. We loved this place and decided that we will return during this trip. We look forward to trying something else. I highly recommend this restaurant! La Sorrentina is the place to go when you have friends and family in town, or you just want a nice meal out with the boo. We diner here pretty regularly and have tried a lot of their pizzas, we've been meaning to try their pastas as well but those pizzas are addicting! All their pizzas are made in an impressive ginormous authentic fire brick oven. The owner is super welcoming, he always waves at us like he missed us so much since the last time we came through. He's also very hard working, when the store is busy, you best believe he marches himself back onto the line and cranks out those pizzas! Great guy all around. Now onto the food! - Bruschetta Antipasti: Crispy baguette topped with heirloom tomatoes mixed basil, olive oil, salt, pepper, and drizzled with a balsamic reduction. The tomato mix was under salted causing every ingredient to be tasted separately. Salt would have definitely helped bring all the flavors together and highlighted the freshness of the tomatoes. It was a quick fix, I just had salt brought to the table and we lightly salted marrying all the flavors together and making the bite whole. It was so good, I had to recreate it at home the following evening and will probably do so tonight as well! - Nduja e Patate pizza: This is a Pizza Blanche or white pizza meaning red sauce isn't used. The sausage with the crispy bites of potato, the caramelized onion, and the fresh basil were absolutely amazing. Their crust is so unbelievably light and chewy, and the toppings were so fresh and tasty. The sausage was very chorizo like. It was overall an amazing pizza. - Tomato Pizza Special: This was a Pizza Rosse. It was topped with pesto, sausage, heirloom tomatoes, shaved ricotta, and fresh basil. This was a bit heavier with thick slices of heirloom tomatoes. The shaved ricotta was such a nice touch. It altered the texture of a cheese that I usually find a bit heavy into something so light and delightful. - White Pizza Special (I can't recall the name but this one is my all time favorite!) This pizza is the best thing I've ever tried! Mozzarella, goat cheese, mushrooms (lots of mushrooms), basil, and a drizzle of honey. The honey with the goat cheese, the texture of the mushrooms, the fresh basil, this pizza just gives so much with so little. Definitely stopping by again before they remove this special because I LOVED it! - Angioletti Dessert: We usually finish dinner off with something sweet from here. If we're a bit stuff from pizza as we were tonight, we opt for the Angioletti! Fried pizza dough tossed in a light coating of cinnamon sugar, with powdered sugar and a drizzle of Nutella. Their dough is so light and fluffy and frying it brings on a whole new level of fluff! They don't overly sugar anything so you're not left feeling super heavy. The beat dessert to finish things off lightly! Side bar: if you like spice, ask for some of the spicy oil and some salt. Last summer, I was lucky enough to visit Italy for the first time and have since been on the lookout for authentic pasta and pizza. This restaurant transported me right back to Italy without the jet lag. After a long day of errands, we were looking forward to quiet evening at home with pizza and beer. Being new to the area, we searched on Yelp for a local good pizza place and found ourselves at La Sorrentina. We arrived at 7:15 pm and concerned we may not have time to order food to go as the restaurant closes at 8 pm on Sundays. This restaurant is in an unassuming strip mall. It's got lots of seating. We arrived at 6:45 on a Friday night and there was a 20-30 min wait. Service was excellent and the food came out quickly. We ordered the Margherita DOC and the special pizza, which had a white sauce, truffles and mushrooms. The pizza was as if I was ordering it in Rome. Perfection! And the prices are reasonable. Recommend you make reservations in advance. I like the open view of the kitchen, very clean and you can see them preparing the pizzas. Wait staff was very friendly and helpful. They all help each other...when I needed some extra silverware, other servers just took care of us instead of telling us to wait for our main server. I appreciate that so much. The food was all very delicious and beautiful. The calamari did surprise me there was shrimp. We hadn't made reservations and needed to wait a few minutes before a table would be available, but the hostess was pleasant about it. They had a new fall menu with several new options available. Since we hadn't been there before, it was all new to us! It's basically a pizza place, with a few other options. There wasn't much available for a person with some carb restrictions, but I found a couple of items I could safely eat. They don't do substitutions, as they want to remain true to the Italian region they come from. The pizzas all had unique combinations of ingredients, so it was fun for our group to try a few new ones. They are wood-fired and had a fairly thin crust. Everyone had favorites out of the four our table ordered. The house salad I ordered was good, with an Italian type dressing and EVOO. Calamari, shrimp, and tempura veggies was my other dish. It was good, although kind of bland. Our server was enthusiastic and great. Part of the restaurant is the kitchen area that we could see them baking. Several tables of varying numbers of seats. Stopped in for the first time for a late Valentine's Day lunch with our family. The server and the hostess were both very sweet and friendly. I really should have written this review 6 months ago but I've been too busy visiting this gem every week! Fridays we have a daddy and daughter night and I would estimate I've been here twenty times. I'm from ny, and I'm Italian. I've eaten at hundreds of pizzerias around the country and this is the best. Don't go to La Sorrentina with a large party because you need to put down a deposit. When I called to make sure we still had a table, the manager said that she would forgo the deposit because it was partly the restaurant's error . I would have called earlier in the week but they changed their hours. I have been on medical leave and this week was my first week back to work after four months. I made a reservation a few weeks ago and was told I would receive a call back to collect the deposit. The Wife had been meaning to hit this place for a few months after co-workers of hers raved about it. But, sometimes life gets in the way, and it takes a while to circle back. The Wife's recent knee injury was one of them, so she made her first visit on crutches. With that in mind we were thankful for handicapped parking close to the front door. The staff made sure we were comfortable while we waited about 20 minutes for a table. Sidenote: The take reservations. We scanned the menu, which was full of wonderful sounding dishes and pizza combinations. I am a sucker for a calzone and this one sounded like not your usual pizza pocket. The Wife eyed the pesto pasta with prawns, and we decided to start with some focaccia with oil and balsamic. I want to focus on the focaccia for a moment. If heaven was represented as a pillowy soft baked treat, that would be it. Baked, oiled, seasoned and cut into perfect little triangles. The olive oil and balsamic was top shelf stuff. The Wife's pesto dish was amazing, little pesto infused pasta sprinkled with pistachio nuts and a health number of prawns cooked perfectly. I am ordering this next time. The calzone was large, and as advertised in the menu it was nicely stuffed with meats and a creamy ricotta cheese that I'd never experienced before. Fresh basil on top, that same pillowy soft dough, perfect amount of tomato inside. I could go for paragraphs about it. I will spare you. We made reservations for a Saturday at 4:45PM. Not too busy yet. Orders were taken, and we were given 2 glasses with Luke warm water. ( First negative) There was no bread basket with olive oil (Second negative) We waited 1 hour for our pasta entrees, serving my wife first then keeping me waiting for my pasta entree 30 minutes later. Needless to say my wife's entree grew ice cold,as she didn't want to eat without me. ( third and fourth negative). Overall piss poor customer service. The pasta dishes served here both meh. 6/10 score. We have both spent a considerable time in Italy and have had authentic cuisine. No apologies for poor customer care, just nonchalant attitudes from Gen Z server. This visit was pure waste of $75.00. We are still searching for good quality dining in Vancouver, WA. For dinner, upon recommendation from a friend, we traveled to Vancouver, to a little Neapolitan pizzeria, La Sorrentina. With every intention to shower my mom with the experience of an authentic Italian meal, we started with a bottle of Anglianico wine from Sant'Agata de'Goti in the Campania region, followed by a Frittatini di pasta, which is a Napoli treat of deep fried macaroni goodness. We had a delightful Italian house salad to accompany a perfect Lasagna Blanca. And the Tartufata pizza with truffle cream sauce and fresh mushrooms brought me right back to Ischia where every bite of crust is just as delicious as the pie. We toasted good health and a life well lived with shots of Limoncello, a birthday candle wish, and finished with espresso and a divine dessert of Zepolle di San Giuseppe. We shared laughs with our neighboring tables and the waiter was top notch, handsome and sweet as could be, making the three-hour meal undoubtedly the chef's kiss amore. Little did we know that our neighboring table, a spirited couple with a sweet teenage daughter, had enjoyed our lively celebrations, and the heartfelt story my mom shared of staying up late and being blessed to see her 75th, so much so that upon their leaving the gentleman had secretly and generously paid for our entire evening's bill. With tears of gratitude continuing this morning, our hearts and bellies full with love, we both know the beauty in this life and God's love and grace that surrounds us. Happy birthday, dear Mama.
