I had visited with a book club a few weeks ago and had a craving so I looked online and ordered a Reparto Corse pizza and had it delivered. It was a lot of pizza! Usually, I alternate between two favorites (as I mentioned in my last review), but this time we branched out and tried the Gregario with added olives and pepperoncinis. This among the top three pizza joints in Vancouver. Mostly take out it has a true bonus when you sit and eat. It's quiet enough to have a conversation. Huh? Really?!?! I've seen people actually speaking to one another instead of being disengaged, looking numbly at a phone. The pear gorgonzola salad ... hmmm .. makes me hungry just thinking about it. What different folks like in a pizza varies widely, and while I'm not a thin crust person as a rule, Bort-o's could change me over. The calzone .. yes, you're right!!! Stopped in after a day at Vancouver Lake- famished! Place was empty. Service was attentive- you order at the counter. We ordered a cheese pizza and a large pizza, half chicken bacon ranch, half meat lovers. Pizza came out hot. I was not a fan overall- nothing stood out to me. The sausage was really off putting- seemed like cheap sausage you would get at Dominos. Chicken ranch was yummy. It hit the spot as we were all starving! Just wasn't the best pizza I've had. This was the worst pizza I've ever had for the expensive price. I explained to the boy at the front desk that we had never been there before we looked at the menu in front of him. We ordered a pizza that had Romano and Parmesan in the list of toppings. we get the pizza delivered to the table and there's literally no cheese. There's no mozzarella! You would never know to ask if there's going to be cheese on a pizza because you just assume there's cheese on the pizza unless it says no cheese or dairy free go. I thought the Parmesan and Romano were just extra cheese on top of the mozzarella that should be there. It was extremely tasteless, bland and cheese- less for $25. It was the worst people I have ever had. When I explained to the boy there was no cheese on it he goes. Oh yeah I should've told you if it doesn't have MP after the ingredients then that means it's no cheese. How would anybody know that especially after I said I've never been there before. He goes. It's probably cause it's vegetarian. I said no you mean vegan, vegan is no cheese, plus it had Parmesan and Romano in the list of ingredients. I thought that would be extra cheese on top of my existing mozzarella. He could've offered half price he could've offered anything except I'm sorry you didn't like it. Not worth waiting for. You won't see the 30-40 minute wait sign until after you have ordered. Pizza was way to doughy and the spicy sauce made our tongues burn. The cashier asked if we wanted our salad first. We said "yes"...it was 30 minutes before we got our salad and over 40 minutes before we got our pizza. Since this is the only place in Vancouver that offers a pizza with pears on it you know I had to try it. Reviews seem pretty mixed so I was curious why they lingered on the low side. Well, here's what I found. I performed a double experiment where I tried one of the few places that offers 18" pizzas and one that offers the unusual combo of cheddar, bacon and pears. We got delivery on top of that and added chicken as a topping which brought the total to an impressive $55. If you value quantity, you'll appreciate the size and weight of this specialty. It's loaded with toppings and the standard crust bears that weight well without drooping slices and scattered toppings. That crust has a nice texture to it, too. The bad is that the dough has no flavor whatsoever. The pears are pie caliber sweet which made the not so crisp bacon seem chewier and the cheddar was so mild it was hard to believe the pizza had any cheese. Overall, very lacking in flavor and not the greatest texture. Took a while to get rid of leftovers because no one wanted any. We might return to try a less exotic pie, but it'll be a while. read more

When I called to tell them they said sorry but they don't have anyone to deliver the correct pizza but will refund my money........ This place almost didn't get a good review, but ultimately they turned it around... This was our first time here. We were so excited to try the Vuelta (taco) pizza! First disappointment was in the price-- we had scoped out the menu prior to arriving but upon ordering found that the in store prices did not match those advertised online. The employee just told my husband "they haven't updated those yet" and continued on. I totally understand increasing prices due to their costs getting higher as well, however, I feel that they should have honored the very clear price difference. Anyway, we didn't get really upset over that $3... As I said, we were excited for the taco pizza-- it's not something that is offered in all places or all year. Sadly, we weren't impressed. Literally all we could taste was the beans that were the base. They overwhelmed any other flavor. My husband went to talk to an employee about it, asking if we could just get a different pizza. They went to talk to the manager and came back out saying there was nothing they could do-- THAT did not make my husband happy, but what do you do? He came back to the table, we piled our napkins on top of the uneaten pizza and sat there visiting with our friends. Soon after the first interaction with the employee, the same one came to our table and said that they could give us a refund. That actually stunned me-- a refund costs more than just making a new pizza! We agreed as that seemed to be the only option. Finally, the manager came over and actually spoke with us. By the end of it, they agreed to make us a smaller pizza of our choice (which, by the way, was great!) I was surprised to some extent by the way this was initially handled, but I am also in food/customer service and I know many people are just out to get something for free. I think it would have been better if the manager had been the one to talk to us face to face from the start. Like I said, ultimately it was made right, just wish that would have happened sooner. read more

If you love simple single topping pizza, in my opinion the pepperoni pizza alone was the best pepperoni pizza I've had in Vancouver.

There is one word I would use to describe this pizza: dry. I came here with the family last weekend for dinner and was disappointed to learn that their dining room is only open on weekdays. What?! We almost went elsewhere, but decided to get a couple pizzas and take them to eat in a nearby park. After ordering, we learned that the wait for the pizzas was AN HOUR. What!? Once we finally got our pies, we were so hungry that we ate them quite quickly. But my main observation was that there was hardly any pizza sauce on them at all. It was the driest pizza I'd ever had. The cheese was fine and the sausage was good, but I felt that I could have made a better pizza at home and that's never a good feeling when spending more than $50 at a restaurant. As much as I wanted to like this place, I'm afraid it wasn't for me and I'll go somewhere else the next time I want a pizza in Vancouver. read more

We gave this place a try as our normal 'go to', Roundtable delivery was double the amount of time. Now I know why. Worst pizza ever. Ordered a cheese pizza and the cheese was so burnt /fused onto the cardboard crust it was inedible. Had to wash down each bite. Also ordered a peperoni - just as bad or even worse as the pepperoni was scorched. 3/4 of pizza is sitting in the freezer - doubt it will ever make it's 2nd debut to our table. My wife and I went here for dinner on Friday around 6:00pm. It was not very busy when we arrived and ordered a large pizza for $24.50. It was actually 6:09pm when we ordered the pizza, we finally got our food at 6:47pm. By that time the place was very busy and I can only imagine the wait for some people. I would guess 1 to 1.5 hour wait. To me, this is just to long to wait for a pizza. Once we finally got the pizza, the crust and bottom were both on the edge of being burnt. The pizza had good flavor, but has potential to be really great thicker crust pizza. The restaurant is dated to early 90's and could use some work. Also, I went to get a box and stood in front of the girl at the register for 5 minutes before she even looked at me. She never greeted me or asked if I needed anything. I had to interrupt her to ask for a box. Overall, I would probably not pass by many other pizza places to get to this restaurant. I believe with a few improvements to the restaurant and pizza cook time, this could be a great family place to get dinner. read more
