Our daughter benefitted greatly from physical therapy and occupational therapy services at therapy west. Big thanks for Rachel and Sarah. Rachel worked with our daughter for almost 3 years and her progress over this time is huge. Our pediatrician noticed how much the PT was helping her gross motor skills and her eating also improved as a result. Therapy West just doesn't have it's stuff together and I'd never recommend them to another family. We took our daughter there for about six months for PT services, which were to be partially covered by our insurance with a co-pay/co-insurance from us. The therapy was ok but not revolutionary. The business end of it has been a disaster, though. At the time there were a few adjustments to our share of the cost, as Therapy West and the insurance company kept revising the bills. And then last summer - THREE YEARS LATER - some new person from the office called me out of the blue to claim we owed them more money. There was no written detailing of the bills and the insurance portion, and I no longer had my own records since we had moved (and no longer with the same insurance). I told them that before paying they needed to provide more detailed information. It took them ANOTHER six months before some other new person reached out to try again to get me to send them a check. Again, no detailed revised bill to help me understand how the heck this could happen. Now I received a letter from a debt collector. During the time my daughter received services and for several months afterward as they revised the billing, I paid every bill in full and on time. But now they have the audacity years later to leave a negative mark on my credit record because of their own poor accounting. It's entirely unconscionable and I'd advise every family to STAY AWAY from this poorly organized business. read more

This is the worst experience I've had with a medical service agency. My 4 y.o. son waited to start therapy with Therapy West for 8 months (since Sept of last year) only to be told today that they no longer take his insurance and can't schedule an appointment. His initial evaluation was on Dec 29th 2014. The therapist we saw, Chelsea, told me that we will receive a phone call to schedule an appointment for the actual therapy. I cannot tell you how many times I called their office, the insurance, the medical group. The insurance assured me everything on their end has been approved. So we kept waiting and calling, hoping for an opening and to start therapy and today we I got this phone call - "Sorry, we don't take his insurance anymore. Can't see him"....just like they are canceling a haircut appointment. After 8 months of waiting?!? The most unprofessional and insensitive service we've received. I would love to take this case to a higher place, because I don't think it is okay for anyone to play such horrible games with peoples' lives. I don't understand these great reviews. I was referred to them by my pediatrician b/c my son was diagnosed with torticollis and plagiocephaly ("flat head syndrome"). I called, asking for an appointment any day of the week, as long is it was after 1 pm. I wanted to make sure that my husband and nanny would also be available to attend the appointment (since we would all be involved with treatment). The woman scheduling told me that it was difficult to accommodate my request b/c there were so many people I had to confirm availability with. I don't know on what planet being available any day of the week after 1 pm is limited availability. Also, they were more worried about confirming my insurance benefits than they were about treating my son's condition, even though I told them that I would be happy to pay out of pocket for anything that may not be covered by insurance. For those that don't know, one week is quite significant when trying to correct this condition in an infant (it could be the difference between needing a helmet and not needing one). Dealing with these horrible people delayed my son's treatment by 10 days. I ended up going to another physical therapist who specializes in this condition. Since I never MET with them, i am giving the benefit of the doubt with one additional star. However, I would NOT recommend anyone work with them! read more

TWISPP has been a life changing program for my son. Within days attending we noticed positive changes in his behavior, from attention span to verbal responsiveness to social interaction. We were sent Therapy West by Kaiser for our daughter Lilly. When we went to this location we sat there on "broken" couches for about 45 minutes before any person even spoke to us. The therapist simply played with our child, listened as we told her our daughters history, and offered nothing new or different to do for treatment. At the end, she explained we would be getting a different therapist as she was not available for future meetings at this location. The next session at the other location was EXACTLY like this - minus the broken couches. 3 sessions with different therapists and we spent more than a hundred dollars in co-pays for close to nothing of value. Terrible service with people who treated us like a number. Stay away. read more

Love this place for my daughter!!! My daughter is currently enrolled in the twist program and the attention and love they give the children is amazing!!! I am extremely grateful with the patience her teacher Jessica, Cameron and Julie have. Jessica, Cameron and Julie are great with the kids. I highly recommend this place. I had a bad experience in another location that I feared of going through it again.. But Jessica, Wendy (speech therapist), Cameron, Julie, and the entire staff made it all better. My daughter is learning fast, singing songs and enjoys her time there. As many parents know the transition can be hard at times but, the staff is so patient and experienced that they make it easy for us the parents. I highly recommend this place that also. :) read more

Therapy west has become somewhat of a second home to me and my son. With visits now nearing 3-4 times a week, i've seen the people who work here a lot and they are all great at what they do. Janelle is an amazing physical therapist, and Chelsea is great at Occupational therapy. They are both so sweet with my son. Scheduling can be a bit crazy and can take some time to get a slot that works for everyone, but it is worth the wait in my opinion. Thanks Therapy West! read more

My son just graduated from the TWISPP program after spending nearly a year there. It was an outstanding experience and helped him so much. He started as a two-year-old who didn't walk or talk. And he left running around chatting everyone up. The teachers and therapists there are extremely skilled and very kind. They face challenges there that ordinary schools don't and take everything in stride. My son has a lot of separation anxiety and they not only allowed me to stay with him in class for the first three weeks, but encouraged it. I always felt he was well taken care of and am so glad we found Therapy West. read more

My 2 y/o has been in the TWISPP program for 4 months and I have already seen her thrive and grow by leaps and bounds since being there. She is shy in new places, but the teachers and therapists welcomed and embraced her in such a gentle and loving way that she never cried at dropoff and has only grown increasingly excited about being at "school" over time. I hear her constantly reciting stories and singing songs she has learned at TWISPP, and her confidence in her motor skills has increased notably since she has started there. She has picked up concepts such as "over" and "under", and these are things that I know I have not yet thought to intentionally teach her at home - but she is learning them at school, and it always amazes me to see what new knowledge she brings home with her. I already have complete confidence that when she starts preschool and elementary school in the future, TWISPP will have laid an incredible foundation for her. I cannot say enough about Therapy West. It is a phenomenal place with wonderful staff, and a supremely caring, welcoming, warm, and accepting environment. It is light, bright, clean, and organized. The gym is awesome, and the building has skylights! After much searching for the right fit, on the advice of others familiar with them, we enrolled our son in the TWISPP program which accepts both typical kids and kids with various delays (speech, motor, social, etc), ages 18 months - 3 years, for a 1 to 5 morning(s) per week program. The program is taught by teachers, OTs, speech therapists, and other professionals trained to work with children, both with and without special needs. This is no ordinary preschool environment. We were so impressed with the way each staff person connected with each child in a different way, depending on each child's need. We watched them seamlessly assign leadership positions to each student over the course of each activity, all the while encouraging the use of the children's strengths and the improvement of their difficulties. At the time of our enrollment, we had added their program only 2 days a week to complement our son's 3-day a week attendance at another preschool. Within a few months, we pulled him out of the other school and he attended TWISPP 4-5 days a week - we couldn't get enough! My son fell DEEPLY in love with several of their staff and still talks about them to this day, 9 months later. We are forever grateful to have found TWISPP in a sea of traditional L.A. preschool environments, and are so proud to call Therapy West staff our forever friends. P.S. Therapy West has been a god-send for us. My boy started about the age of 18 months for early intervention TWISP program and has grown so much since attending. He went from total shyness/withdrawal to saying hi to everyone and talking, singing and more. The teachers Amanda, Rhianna and Julia are fabulous. You have to have that special gift to be able to work with these amazing kids and teach them and help them grow. They also do a great job keeping the parents apprised of what is going on with their during school as well as you asking at any time. They get to know your kid. They care about your kid. It is obvious that is not a job for them. I'm forever grateful for having them in our lives. read more

If only my insurance company could find a more suitable replacement!!! They cannot keep a good speech therapist. Recently, the talented Wendy left for LAUSD. They then put all of her caseload on hold until furtherr notice. My child has been without speech for well over a month and a half - approaching 2 mos... They still have no "start date" despite more than one recent hire. They say they are not able to secure a "hard start date" and only have a "soft" start date. They supposingly hired a new speech person before Wendy left in early June! Their main speech person: Susan called my child lazy for using sign language to help facilitate communication... At 18 mos old!! My child is very motivated to speak and this was just a lie. This company has no problem putting aside the needs of their consumers to meet their bottom line. I am a paying customer and tired of my child being neglected by the staff. My child is trying to learn to talk but TW does not let progress occur when they have a talented therapist & drove her away. Horrible. I hope others are not treated this way. read more

If you want your therapy right away, DO NOT CALL this place. I called in late June for an appointment right away to get my 3 1/2 year old son's pronation corrected. I spoke with a very nice lady who got all my information and said someone would get back to me in 2 days. 10 days past and I hadn't heard from them so I called again to say I would like my son to get in right away since I was off for the summer and had more flexibility in my schedule. 2 weeks later (now July) I was told someone would call in a couple of days. Their excuse was their insurance person was sick and that was the delay. By mid July, I still had not received a phone call to schedule my son's appointment. I finally ended up going with Physical Therapy Solutions (who are fantastic). In September, I received a call from TherapyWest asking to schedule an appointment. REALLY?!?!! I told them that it was too late and the lady on the phone was not even apologetic. What horrible customer service!! Would never recommend them to anyone. I would have given them no stars if I could. read more

I've enrolled both my daughters (one who is now 6 years old, and one who is currently in the program) in the TWISPP program at Therapy West and couldn't say more about the genuine love and care they have each received at this program. The teachers and therapists offer something I lack as a mother ---the patience, time, and energy to sing songs, play in the gym, and just have fun with them! I loved the safe environment (doors with safety knobs, lots of padded equipment) and the number of teachers and adult staff they had in the class. I always felt like my children were greeted at the door and acknowledged. I have no doubt that TWISPP provided an excellent foundation (socially, emotionally, intellectually) for my older daughter who is now in first grade. She transitioned easily to school and I believe TWISPP helped to facilitate that. I loved that the class had structure (a daily routine) and also provided field trips in the community and parent support talks. Thank you Therapy West for investing in my children!! read more

My son was speech delayed and was referred to Therapy West "TWISSP" program when he was 2 1/2. Soon after we got on the wait list for a speech therapist. Not only are they short staffed and would put you on the wait list forever but they also have only one senior therapist and everyone else is fresh out of school with zero experience. What finally did it for me was my sons Occupational therapy class being cancelled. My son had Ashley (the sweetest person every) as his OT, he has been working with her for over a year, a month before she left the program she gave me the news and said they were working on finding him a replacement. Every week i would call and Issa they program coordinator (the rudest most unhelpful person) would not respond to several messages left in her VM. The day of my sons last session i was told their will be no one available to take over Ashley and that he will be put on a wait list again. This program is poorly managed. the staff is unresponsive and unhelpful and the clients are not the main focus. I left a message for the Director of the program about my experience and i never received a response.It's sad to say they didnt care where my son went after being with them for over 2 yrs. I'm highly dissapointed and wouldn't recommend this facility to any parent. read more
