Jacob is amazing!! After a different company attempted a repair on a quartz countertop -- and then tried to gaslight me into accepting their sub-standard work, claiming that no one could do any better than the rough texture and visible dip they left, both of which were almost as bad as the chip they were supposed to be repairing -- I called Jacob @ LA Stone Care to give it a try. Not only did he achieve the smooth finish that the other company said was impossible, he also got the repair material completely level with the rest of the countertop surface -- and he even filled it in properly along the "lip"/edge of the countertop. Now, you can *barely* tell where the repair was made, really only if you look closely, which was exactly what we were aiming for. 1000x better than what the other company did! And despite having to do extra work to remove the epoxy the other company had put in, the cost came out to the same as what the other company had tried to charge. First things first: I can't say if anyone in town knows more about the upkeep, care and repair of all types of stone than Jacob. I CAN say he's one of the nicest guys I've ever had the pleasure to do business with. In our experience, he always gets the job done right, whether it's sealing 1500sq feet of limestone tile, refurbishing a marble vanity, or just repairing a small crack in shower floor. He returns calls the same day, sometimes within the hour. He shows up on time and spends as much time as it takes discussing options whether it's on repair, upkeep or new stone. During a very stressful remodel, when we were living in a hotel because our GC was so far behind schedule, Jacob came to the rescue when the competition canceled, and sealed our beautiful but oh so high maintenance limestone floor that next day--at 1/3 what the no-show had quoted. We have a beautiful stone chess board that I broke into several pieces. Not only did it break along the seams but some of the stone squares cracked as well. I needed a hole drilled in a quartz desktop and Jacob responded to my inquiry right away. The installer and Jacob came today and handled this perfectly. They were professional, pleasant to deal with and left behind a perfectly drilled hole so we can put our lamp cord through. They did all the cleanup and even plugged in our lamp for us. Found these guys using Home Advisor. Had a very difficult and challenging task --- drilling a hole into an IKEA fireclay sink with ridged back deck so we could install an airgap (required by CA code for the dishwasher). Jacob sent one of his colleagues, Karo, who was a real "old school", "can do almost anything" kind of guy. Karo was very careful and worked with me to specifically decide where the hole would go, working under the sink and above the sink to determine precisely where the hole would go.
