They always have their smiles and patience to wait for your decision! My favorites are the tacos of carne asada, pollo and birria on corn tortillas and to take home a few good tamales. Remember to request for some verde sauce, too. From the variety of dishes, there's a reason to come back next time to try something new. Stop by and check it out. Two large menudos, rice and beans I ask for salsa and they try to give me four small containers which one it would be enough for one piece of chicken. It is with regrets that for a cup of salsa you have lost a faithful customer. Is not the salsa, it is the principle and the attitude received from your staff, in the past never been an issue. I was only there for the chicharrones, they did not have the meat ones to put in chili sauce. But were still bought 1- lb along with couple cans of pato sauce. Also picked out a couple of empanadas, pumpkins and pineapple. My Husband wanted a whole tilapia fish and also picked out a pan dulce. Everything was fresh. Chicharrones were a big hit, 1 lb is a lot, but today I will use the rest in quesadillas. Also made some sopita. We will be back to try the Tamales. Pan Dulce is amazing, very fresh. I used to always call this place "the new el dorado market" & posted it on the Stockton FB page & comments but after todays service with Lucero the cashier she was very rude & skipped me in line! Then laughed at me when I told her I was next, she didn't say "Lo siento" or "que" the whole time she was laughing at me then giving me dirty looks! Horrible food & service!! Basura So many reviews about the cashiers because theyre the most rudest miserablest girls working. Me and my family usually come to this place for bread and supplies, overall we've enjoyed this business, just today though we decided to order menudo. We ordered 3 large and I did happen to take a couple of bites before I noticed tiny pieces of cut hair in thier menudo. And then I started finding more. Black hair Embedded in the meat, I'm not knocking the business. I really don't know if this is a one time scenario or an occasional issue, only God knows. It's been a while since I've come here. Warning, the parking lot situation is a disaster so save yourself the stress and park on the side streets. My mom usually comes here for their grilled chicken. Idk what they add to it but it has really great flavor and hubby really liked it when he tried it at my mom's house. It was hubby's first time to this store. Unfortunately they were out of the grilled chicken, and out of all of their prepared meats. We stopped after 7pm which was kinda late. I asked the lady around what time do they usually run out of the chicken and she wasn't able to tell me. The store was really packed though with people. The food and pan dulce here are delicious. The tamales are especially good, although the last two times I bought them, they smelled like they were about to go bad. It is always crowded inside and it's a small space, which makes it difficult to get your stuff. Parking is also difficult. There's a tiny parking lot in the back. read more

This place used to be 5 stars for me simply for their homemade fresh croissants and strawberry croissants and tamales but they have changed the recipes! The croissants used to be huge, light and flaky is what they and now they are small, heavy and dense. It seems like the same dough as the empanadas. They carry cooked carnitas, grilled and rotisserie chicken, chile verde, chile Colorado, chile rellenos, carne con papas. Super burritos for $3.99. They Carry FRESHNESS HERE. Anything ordered from the deli is pipping hot and fresh. Pro for all you carnita lovers, they have buy 1lb get 1 lb free! But one sad fact is there grilled chicken is only available Sat and Sun. They have a menu as well. Sorry my friends didn't get to snatch a pic as they were a bit crowded and blocking my angles. The aisles are a bit narrow which makes it hard to shop comfortably since it's always busy. It can get a bit crowded including the line, and there is no direction as to where it starts so that doesn't help at all. I was stuck on the pan dulce aisle. It was fresh, nicely covered and fly free! Awesome! It irks me walking into supermarkets that has a few pieces of pan dulce and there flies taking a vacation. Gross! Not here though. Plenty of sweet choices to your satisfaction. Arroz con leche, pasteles, gelatinas, flans all available here. The store itself is completely stocked up and well maintained. Very clean and modern setting. I love how it had the smell of fooooood and not just raw meat & poultry Moses with bleach. They do have the meat and poultry aisle on the opposite side from the cooking kitchen. My time frame cut my visit and photos short, but will continue to be back no as often since it's on the other side of town. It has been years that I've been to the actual store and it hasn't changed much, aside from the minimal outdoor seating, which I noticed when entering into there parking lot. Parking lot is behind the supermarket and very limited. There is an entrance front and back so need to go around either way. Plenty of street parking available along the front of the store. If you didn't read my tip; they charge .35cents for running your debit/credit card. They really need to clear some isles and/or staff need to wait on loading once it's customer clear. I had 2-3 ladies excuse themselves moving stock around with carts. You basically need to know what you want in order to be in and out. read more

Salsas are mixed with each other and stuff that does to belong in salsa floats about. I have loved all of the hot food I have tried here! So my 4 stars is based upon the food aspect. I have not tried the butcher area so I can't tell you if the meat is cheap in price nor the quality of the meat. I know there is always a line of people on that side just as well as the line at the hot deli is long. There is a small parking lot as well as parking on the street. If you're familiar with Stockton the neighborhood seems rough but only because it's an older neighborhood. They are bbqing and cooking outside so the smells greet you as soon as you are in viewing distance. The place is small and cramped but it seemed like everyone knows the routine. Where to wait on everything and which way to walk down which part of the store. They carry in the hot deli, papusas, carnitas, tamales, chili verde/Colorado, chicharrones and more. They will make you tacos, burritos and Tortas. I prefer to buy my carnitas by the pound and my own bolillos bread and make my own Tortas at home. Their chili verde is one of the best I have tasted as well as their tamales. I'm a huge fan of this place despite the tight quarters and interesting neighborhood. read more

We literally work 30 minutes from their business and if there's traffic it's about 45 minutes. So you can't disclose what your tamales cost? Is there cocaine in the tamale? Do you pay taxes for the tamale? That was just all together a weird conversation... Apparently this place has their employees Harass People who leave bad yelp reviews... Love the deli and the hot food, also the workers in the meet department and the bakers...the register workers are not very friendly at all and need customer service training. I understand it get super busy and the lines are ridiculous but dang smile once and a while. Owners need to look for a new location because you have definitely outgrown that place. Plus, there is no way a wheel chair can manuver in that place let alone get out safely if there was ever a fire. Seems like a lawsuit waiting to happen. read more

This review is based on my visit on sat 3/16/19. We usually always buy our meat here. Their meat is fresh and taste great. But the butcher that helped me this sat used the bloody meaty gloves to get my cheese. What in the world. He grabbed a dirty white rag wiped off a little of the excess blood off and just handled my cheese. I was so disgusted. I took it up and left it at the register. I ended up telling the meat supervisor. He tried getting me a new piece but I couldn't anymore. I don't know if those pieces are from a new pack or if someone else has touched them with meat juice hands. read more
