This is a hidden gem in Buellton! It is a small, cute little place. There is a salsa bar, who doesn't love a salsa bar! You can pick your salsa, there was also limes, chopped cilantro and pickled veggies. The chips were thin and warm. Service was perfect, very helpful and friendly. The side salad was so good, I might go back and get that for an entree. It had fresh greens, walnuts and clementines with a light creamy mango dressing. It was bomb! I got enchiladas with the creamy Chipotle sauce, delicious. My husband got mole, he really liked it. The mole was a little sweet to me but I dont like or ever order mole, so I shouldn't speak to it. This place is the place to go. They have a numerous amounts of salsa that is made in house. My wife had tacos and I had the wet burrito. What a lovely lunch during a day of wine tasting in Buellton. We were greeted warmly and seated at a table of our choice. The dining room is filled with light, and although you'll see a sign at the checkout counter to "order here", it's table service for dining in. We had heard about their mole sauce and had to try the mole enchiladas (chicken and cheese, plus really good rice and beans - $17.95). Mole sauce was legit! A solid dish. We also had the Chile La Tequila ($19.25), a poblano pepper stuffed with beautiful, fresh shrimp, creamy cheese sauce, and chipotle sauce. Delicious. Served with their La Tequila salad - which was amazing! Crisp, fresh greens, avocado, dried cherries, mango, fresh mandarin (tangerine?), and their housemade tequila dressing. I would go back for this salad alone. Housemade salsas at the salsa bar are great; chips were just okay but they're merely a delivery vehicle for these gorgeous salsas. We didn't partake of the adult beverages here but they had a list of wines, bottled beer, and some cocktails made with agave wine. They also have a kids menu. You take your check to the counter to pay, and if you're lucky you may see the chef in the open kitchen making a batch of her chile rellenos: big, beautiful clouds of light batter embracing the fresh peppers. Girls Trip to Solvang... ended up in Buellton on the way back home, stopped for a quick bite here. I never say no to Mexican. Cute little restaurant, clean, good amount of seating. Service was quick. We ordered at the counter, grabbed a table and didn't wait too long for our food. I got the Combo plate (Enchiladas, Cheese). The plate came with two enchiladas (choice of sauce), beans, and rice. I got one green sauce and one red sauce. The enchis were good, but not the best. Rice was okay. Beans were good. My sister got the Tacos Maya and my friend got the La Tequila Enchiladas. I think they both enjoyed their plate for the most part... but, again, could've been better. The presentation of the food was great though. I can't speak too much to the interior. We only did take out due to our past experience. But as for the food... The guacamole was stellar. The salsas were delicious. The meat was juicy. I love the little metal tray with metal salsa cups - so much better than the other Mexican food place in Buellton that just lets you have two little plastic cups. Looking for a place to eat close to my motel and yelp has good reviews here. I walked in on a Friday evening, it was raining outside so I was glad that there was seating available. The server offered me my choice of available tables, brought me a menu, and took my drink order. Casual Mexican restaurant ambiance felt cozy. I ordered the 2 items plate when she returned with my drink and chips. She then directed me to the salsa bar. I tried the Pico de gallo, tomatillo salsa Verde, and red salsa. They also had orange salsa which I presume is habanero. While I love habanero, I resisted the urge because I know that I will have acid reflux if I eat too spicy at dinner. The 2 items I ordered were soft tacos, 1 pastor and 1 carnitas. Both were very tasty. I had all beans on the side instead of rice and beans. The beans were good and when I added in the tomatillo salsa they were great. I devoured every single chip with copious salsa and after my plate arrived I dipped the chips into the beans as well. My only complaint is that I didn't find a parking lot so I parked across the street on the curb. But everything else was excellent. read more

A delightful dinner for our 36th anniversary, well worth the drive. We sat inside and had guacamole, margaritas with Tajin on the rim, the mole enchiladas and the showcase Agripina's Molcajete. Everything was great. The mole was sweet but had lots of subtle complex flavors. The molcajete dish is a little bit of everything in a fiery sauce served in a hot lava stone bowl - standouts were the delicious chorizo and the perfectly grilled shrimp, but the steak and chicken and nopal were well marinated and very tasty. Absolutely get the fresh guacamole and try the salsas. The only drawback we might mention is there is only street parking, and turning east on Highway 246 is dodgy.
