Did not know of the restaurant before we drove past it, and expected it to be an average place. But walking in we were surprised-- modern decor and actually bright lights! (I hate restaurants where you can't see who you are there with and can't see what you are eating.) Had a cucumber mojito-- excellent, then both our meals were very good too. I had the Burrito a la Diabla-- a burrito with chicken and chorizo (yum) in a spicy sauce-- which came with a cup of seasoned beans that had bacon and-- SURPRISE!-- hot dog slices in it! The beans were great! My son, who used to live in Colorado, said these are "ranch beans"-- a very nice switch up from the usual the normal refried beans. My wife had the Enchiladas Verde-- chicken enchiladas in a fresh-made tomatillo sauce-- that was very good, too. We will be going back! read more

Best salsa and chips, ever! ... seriously! Used to live in the apartment complex behind La Terraza and would frequently go. Been a few years, came back, and wasn't disappointed! The salsa is so fresh and has just the right amount of kick. As far as the other food, large portions for the prices! Fan of the fajitas or fajita quesadilla. Margaritas are delicious as well. Located in a shopping plaza with plenty of parking available. Have an outdoor patio as well for the spring and summer time! This is one of our 3 local favorite Mexican restaurants, we order take out here several times/month. Tried something new today: El Burrito Barzone. Loved it! I was sold on the Pineapples, Shrimp and Chorizo. Our son got a kids Mac and cheese but didn't really like it. It's just Kraft but making pasta is not their strong suit, . My wife enjoyed her taco combo. For a quick $22 lunch for 3, it's worth every dollar! read more

The amount of chicken they use in their fajitas has been decreasing to an embarrassing level. For the cost this is not a good value at all. We will be taking our business elsewhere. Disappointing because they are nearby and generally taste good. But this lack of meat is disgusting. read more

We were in the area and needed a bite to eat. This place was right by Walmart and we stopped in. As we entered, were greeted & seated almost immediately.. chips and salsa to follow. Our waiter took our drink order while we looked over the menu. My sister decided on the fajita burrito with chicken & steak and I got the Hawaiian carnitas stir fry. We didn't wait long, our food was to our table within minutes. Everything was super fresh & delicious. The seasoning on the meat & salsa was a tad spicier than I have had at other Mexican restaurants. But this wasn't a bad thing. There was flavor. I had so much food that I was able to eat at the restaurant and take a full container home. We will be visiting again next time we are in the area. Not sure why there are so many mixed reviews. Stopped in with my husband while out shopping today. It's really nice on both the inside and the outside. It also smelled amazing when we walked in. The salsa and bean dip was great! On a good note the chips were served hot and the sauteed green onions and peppers for the main courses tasted fresh. Now for the bad. The salsa was very watery. The guacamole had only a strong onion taste- no lemon or heat. For over $4 the cheese dip serving was very small. Now for the worst. The rice had the taste and texture of minute rice. The chicken fajitas are flavorful, which is more than most other Mexican places in the area can boast. The ambiance on a Saturday night is busy, but not overly busy or loud. We've been here several times and I can say that this place is consistently above average for a standard Mexican restaurant for NE Ohio. Our most recent visit consisted of good, satisfying food, including their quesadilla supreme (including beef tips and mushrooms) and chicken loco. Decided to try some where new today. My first visit. We were happy that when we walked in we were seated right away with no wait. Before we sat down or were handed menus our server walked up and asked for our drink order, when I told her we needed to sit down and look at the menu first she got an attitude. So my girlfriend just ordered water with lemon and I asked Cake or Pepsi products, she huffed and respond with Pepsi, so I just asked for Pepsi. When she brought our drinks she was setting them on the table I reached for mine and she set it down on the far end of the table without saying anything. Another table was seated and she completely for got about us and stood and talked to her friends at that table. Which was right across from our booth. After about 15 minutes I flagged her down. When she finally came to take our order, We ordered the queso with chorizo for our appetizer, and the mixed fajita with beef, chicken and chorizo. Our fajita came out in about 5 minutes, about 5-10 minutes later we received our queso. When the brought our fajita out it had chicken, beef and shrimp. We flagged her down once again while she was talking and carrying on with her table of from the other table, and explain to her that I can not eat shrimp she acted like it was a complete inconvenience. All while trying to tell me that it's what we ordered. They did take it back and made it without shrimp. It was hot, but tasted microwaved. The fajita came with a plate of rice, guacamole, and salad. There was a long dark hair mixed into the rice. I have short blue hair, my girlfriend is short and curly. The queso tasted like it had American cheese in. It was also luke warm. We ended up giving up on the waitress and just flagged the first person we seen that was walking by, we asked for the manager. When he came out and we explained it our entire experience he got very frustrated and started aggressively snatching dishes of the table. We refused to pay for a meal that we not only didn't eat, but also had hair in it. It was over all a bad experience. We will not be going back. read more

Get a large beer here and they give you a bucket of beer with a handle. Seriously, $5.50 for a beer so big it makes the German in me smile. This is an adequate Mexican place. I think the best thing on the menu is the chorizo and cheese, get it as an appetizer and you won't be disappointed. As far as the food goes, it's average. I wouldn't say it's fantastic but it's good enough to keep me coming back for lunch. The taco salad is decent and they have really cheap lunch specials that aren't bad. I would go for the beef tips though, I would say that's probably the best. I have always had to go back to work afterwards so I have never tried the margaritas but I would like to. This was my first visit to La Terraza. I did not get a chance to celebrate Cinco de Mayo so I took the opportunity a day later to visit a Mexican restaurant. The store front of this place is attractive and the decor within was pleasant. We decided to dine indoors even though they had a nice little patio for nice weather days. As soon as we sat down, we were served salsa and red chips which tasted good. Our server was friendly and was quite attentive throughout our visit. Their menu was adequate, with plenty of variety for even the most picky eaters. I ordered 'ala carte' steak tacos and my partner ordered a chimicanga meal. My order came with 3 tacos filled with juicy steak and some cheese. I found it a little dry but after I put some of the salsa on it, it was fine. The chimicanga looked great, smothered with sauce and cheese, with some rice. We thought our food was good value for the price. I have no problems visiting La Terraza again when I'm in the mood for Mexican food. read more

Food was average. What was a negative for us was the poor service. Waiter was clearly not in a good mood/acted as if he'd rather be ANYWHERE else, mumbled so that we hardly understood him/had to guess what he said, didn't make eye contact or stop by our table to see if we needed anything. This was not a busy day & he didn't have more than 2 other tables. We probably won't be back. There are several Mexican restaurants in the area where the food is better and the customer service is friendly & helpful. read more
