It's the kind of burrito, that's so big you say oh I'll have half now and half later. Then you wrap up the second half wait a few minutes then say ok it's later and finish the burrito. The food is decent and I really loved talking to the owner but, myself and 5 other people went for lunch and ended up spending $100 on 3 orders of Barria tacos which were mediocre and small in size. Would not recommend you go here if you are a college student with a budget. read more

Fine no-frills food for a good price. There are no servers (order at the counter), and like many Kent restaurants, the seating is limited (4 tables and about 10 single 'window' seats?), but I usually go around opening (11am), and plenty of seating. Everything is well prepared; owners/cooks are nice folks, and they'll accommodate if possible (and as an old, ex-chef, too many people ask for too much, as if a cook is your own private chef), and good, freshly prepared food. That is why a person goes out to eat. Never had anyone demand or add-on a tip, and in fact, if you pay cash, you get a bit of a discount. Just authentic Cali-Mex food. read more

I was so excited to try this place out! In true me fashion, I scoped out the menu before coming in which did not help let me tell you, I just wanted everything off of the menu. I popped in on a Saturday for a late lunch before getting on with my errands. Several places to sit, very clean and calm. I decided on the Carne Asada Fries. The lovely lady checking me out asked if I wanted some chips and salsa to which I said yes. Who the heck says no to that? The chips are lovely and made in-house and the salsa was mild. Then came out the fries and I knew...I knew I made a mistake. Not in my order, oh no because let me tell you I drooled when I saw them. No, the mistake was coming to eat on my own. Because these fries were on a plate that was larger than my head. THAN MY HEAD. For $11.75. Is your mind blow? It should be. Do I regret my choices? Heck no! But yea just a heads up, ginormous. Now how did they taste? Delicious. The toppings were numerous but not overwhelming. Guac, sour cream, meat, tomatoes and onions, creamy green sauce (it has a name but it escapes me...), I was here for all or it. Everything was well-seasoned and balance. I had to figure out how to re-heat them since I could not, in good conscious, actually finish them in one sitting but that's not a bad problem to have. Tried Mamacita's today for lunch. Had Baja fish tacos and my wife had he cali Street tacos. She enjoyed hers but we both felt the chicken could use more seasoning. I am a big fish taco fan and was very happy! The building is a small space across from the university with three booths and a window bar. Also a few picnic tables outside. read more

Utterly disappointing. We got takeout from here because some of our friends had really liked their food. We ordered a couple of tacos some wings and an order of nachos. Starting with the bad review do we can end on the less bad...I don't think that's a term... moving on! The tacos were baaaad. The carne asada was not spiced/flavored At. All. It tasted like I was chewing styrofoam-flavored chewing gum. On the tacos was supposed to be diced onion and cilantro. Well, I did get 4 little dices of onion, and about that much cilantro. That obviously didn't help flavor my styrofoam gum. The buffalo wings were just ok. The size was good but they didn't really taste like much. Nachos were ok. They were kind of flavorful, good portion. Personally I wouldn't get them for takeout, but eating them right as they came to your table would probably be good. Based on my friends' experience I am willing to say that maybe it was an off night, but I don't plan on ordering again. Disappointment cost us way too much money for what we got. read more

I did notice the chips being a bit more saltier this time, which was not exactly what I was expecting. A nice little place where everyone is super friendly, the food is good, and the prices are reasonable. The chicken Cali Street Tacos and Chirizo & Egg Breakfast Burrito were both tasty. Their homemade chips and guac were really outstanding. Bottled drinks are available. I believe the interior photos on this site may be from a former location; they told us the place had relocated from Parma. This space is pretty tight, without much inside seating- three or four booths, tops. There are also some small tables around the outside of the building. Yay for a new favorite! We ordered 2 chicken quesadillas, taquitos with beef, chimichanga, and Callie's street tacos. Sour cream, guacamole and pico de gallo all came on the side. Chimichanga and taquitos were delicious! They were crispy and freshly made for our order. I would definitely ask for chimi to be fried a little longer next time! Taquitos came guacamole on the side. Had lunch here this week. It is counter service and they bring it to you as it is made. I asked questions about the menu. I was told the Cali Street tacos were the most popular item ordered. So I got that with 1 each chicken, steak and pork. They are served in what looks and tastes like homemade corn tortillas. A little onion and cilantro on top. They were exactly as described and tasted very good. I thought it was lacked seasoning. So I added some salsa to each taco for more flavor. I knew I would want more to eat than 3 tacos. I asked about the beans on the menu and the nice woman gave me a description that didn't sound all that great. She said the beans were not refried. They weren't whole either than were a little smashed. I passed. I thought $4.50 for an order of chips and salsa was a bit steep for chips and salsa. But I got it anyway. Then I saw why they were $4.50. When she brought the chips to my table it was clear they just cooked the chips themselves. They were piping hot and salty. They were excellent and worthy of the price tag. I would buy these every time I go here. I asked how many salsas they have and was told mild and hot. I asked for both and the tomato salsa was mild. Verde salsa was hot. They were both fresh made tasting and what I expected. Hot was a little hot. I would have liked more heat. Overall, I liked this place. I've heard nothing but great things about Mamacitas and I finally got around to trying it. I was able to walk in and order for take out on a Friday night without any problems. Being a big fan of Mexican food I was excited to eat here. I decided to go with the chicken mole, which I don't typically get, but I wanted to try something new. I was disappointed with my meal, but I'm not letting it speak for the rest of the review. As a side I got queso and chips, salads and chips which were really good. The salsa was flavorful and made fresh. It was the best part of my meal. A few of my friends got the chicken quesadilla which was out of this world. The quesadilla was perfectly cooked and full of great flavor. The cheese was melted throughout and the toppings were fresh. I will need to come back here and give an update on my review. I feel like this is a 5/5 star spot that deserves another try. read more

Normally this place is 5 stars. I ordered a chicken chimichanga but there was no chicken in it. They were telling everyone that they were going to close permanently the next day, so they probably didn't have too much on hand. They have now posted that they were so busy that they are staying open for now. I'm planning on going back. Review update: had mamacita's cater my husbands surprise bday party! It was a little last minute but boy did they come through! I added photos below, best thing is we had leftovers too yum!!!! Saying I'm a huge fan of Mexican food is an understatement. While most restaurants in the area are good. Mamacita's blows these restaurants out of the water. You want good authentic Mexican food you've found it. I've spent 2weeks in Mexico last summer with my mother in law visiting family, eating the most delicious food and this takes me back. We did an online order, picked up and took it home to eat. They do have a small eat in area, but they are primarily a take out joint. The cashier lady was super helpful as I was placing my order. The dining area was bright and colorful. The wait wasn't too long for a large order. I got carne asada fries, elote, carne asada tacos, cali street tacos with all 3 meat choices, baja fish tacos, and taquitos. The tacos were all packed with meat and had powerful flavors. Great new place in the Parma area. Had the shredded beef street taco. With the green salsa. Yum. Ordered the elote(warm corn). Spicy and creamy. Order the kids beef taco which came with rice and beans. Great portion size and my daughter who is every picky about her mexican rice ate every last grain on it and gobbled down her taco. It's absurdly good food. I got chips and queso. The queso was good but the chips stole the show and are fried fresh. I also got the Birria Tacos, which I asked to substitute the corn tortilla for flour, as I've never been a fan of the corn ones for some reason. They convinced me to try it as is and they were absolutely right. Great first impression with both food and service. A+ read more

So, after visit #2's disappointing experience I promised to try the 'offending' dishes again. One we did and one we didn't (only because at the time we didn't need it). We retried their guacamole. First time it was fantastic, second time totally tasteless and forgettable, and this time...it was just perfect. Not sure what happened with that second visit but I'm writing it off as a once-in-a-blue-moon accident--or at least I hope that's the case, because this was world-class quacamole, creamy, full of flavor, and along with the chips made a great adjunct for our homemade chicken mole dinner (not hard, by the way, and FANTASTIC). So, lesson is that sometime things do happen. Not ever restaurant can be 100% perfect. The trick is determining whether it's a flue or business as usual. So very glad to say in this case it was the former. BTW, speaking of mole sauce, just a heads-up for lovers of that classic Mexican dish. I was surprised to learn there is no chocolate in Mamacita's mole sauce; just thought it was always made with it. I was VERY wrong. Apparently, "mole" can describe a large variety of sauces, one of which DOES have chocolate, but many other varieties do not. So, if you are expecting chocolate in your mole, be aware Mamacita's version is not made with it. Having said that, their version is excellent and we will order it again. read more

I've been to Mamacitas a couple of times now and I'm enjoying the goods so far. Best of luck to this new female owned business! It's located in an unassuming plaza in Parma with plenty of parking. When you first walk in the lights are super bright, like whoa too bright. Decor is colorful and cute though. There are a couple of tables if you would like to dine-in, but this is mostly a take-out place. Staff is friendly and helpful. I was told the restaurant was opened by two sisters and their mother. They started out in Ohio, lived in California for most of their lives, then recently moved back to Ohio and wanted to share with us Ohioans the California-style Mexican flavors that they fell in love with. Here is what I have had so far: *Carne Asada Fries $9 - Huge tasty portion. I tried to eat the whole thing, but it was starting to hurt so I had to stop. You've got thinly slices steak fries with lots of cheese and toppings. They could try tenderizing the cuts of meat a little more, but this is still something I would definitely order again. *Elote $4 - Not gonna lie, this was interesting. Not the creamy corn I was expecting and it had crushed hot cheetos on top. Not bad, just different and I swear it had a slight fruity pebble taste to it. *Baja Fish Tacos Dinner $9.75 - I liked the tacos, but I thought the sides of rice and beans were too salty and I did not finish them. To be fair I never put salt in anything so the salt flavor stands out to me whereas for others it might taste good. I also thought the rice was too soft/fluffy/plain. Would get tacos again, but not these sides. *Queso Dip and Chips $7.25 - I really liked that the chips are made fresh so I could order mine without salt. The queso was good, but there was way too much of it. I covered each chip in cheese and still had at least half of the container left that went to waste. I think they would be totally fine serving the queso in a container half the size for the same price. Overall, I like this place and look forward to trying other items on the menu! I kept receiving a notification from my trusty YELP app about the new opening of this place called mamacitas, spanish food right around the corner? SIGN ME UP! i ventured in here on a saturday night and I was surprised by what i encountered. For starters, there's literally two tables, three if you count the big glass one just randomly in the center of the restaurant. The atmosphere is hard to read, i understand they JUST opened but come on two tables? Their menu is short and sweet and to the point, however it was a tad misleading. I ordered a California burrito, a California burrito bowl, and then a kids portion of quesadillas. So they clearly say on the menu that any burrito can be turned into a bowl, however i got the bowl and it was legit just a bed of french fries, so what was the difference of me ordering a burrito or the carne asada fries? I was under the impression the "bowl" would have some sort of rice product or BOWL consistency. There were TWO people working, on a saturday? talk about short staffed, and yes it clearly says each order is made to order so it will take 15-20 min for your food but hire more people and you can avoid this no? Taste wise it was eh. The asada was a bit tough for my liking, and there wasnt enough queso blanco and i felt like they overloaded the cilantro. The quesadilla wasnt fully cooked because some of the cheese wasnt fully melted, however the beans were on point, the rice was a bit bland. Pricing wise. It was your normal. nothing too high, nothing to write home about. Service? The ladies were nice however they were super busy and took a while to take orders, but again HIRE MORE PEOPLE and avoid this. Theres a random cornhole game in the corner, and some weird door just in the front, not sure where it leads to *shrugs*. My expectations were high and unfortunately i was let down. Not to mention the parking lot is atrocious, there is no type of sign to aid in the construction currently going on and its really bad location.
