But after walking past it nearly every day for six years I decided what the heck I'll give it a shot. In short, I'm really glad I did. The massage I got from a woman named Lily was as good or better than the ones I was getting for double the price. And it was a legit one hour massage, it probably lasted 58 minutes. I have been with these people for many years, I follow when they've moved locations...I also think that a $20. Dollar tip for an hr of deep tissue is worth every penny...a massage is a treat of a very intimate nature and so aside from the techniques, professionalism is a must...I've always have been made to feel at my best comfort level..so 20 for 1hr 30 for 1 1/2 and 40 for a 2hr massage with George is a treat for me!! read more

I've been going here almost 17 years and have had many of the masseuses. They are always professionals and very good for the price you pay. For years it was $45 for one hour, always high level acupressure. The owner has been the same throughout and raising their prices a bit after surviving Covid as a massage business is totally understandable. I stand by this place. Not a trustworthy place!!! from the moment I arrived it seemed very suspicious. I was told all my jewelry needed to come off including a hermes bracelet I had. It was placed beside me and once the massage ended I went along my day until the next day I noticed I had forgotten it. When I return the lady told me no bracelet was reported that they did not have a lost and found. I was shocked because that was the only place I lefted my bracelet.!!! This is definitely a sketchy business. I had scheduled a 45-minute massage for both my boyfriend and me hoping that it would be a pleasant and relaxing experience. I was already slightly hesitant upon entering since it was completely dark inside and the entrance door was locked. As soon as we got in, before even receiving our service, the woman at the front starts haggling with me for a big tip. Mind you, neither my boyfriend or I have even started our massages yet! I told her that I always tip 18-20%, but no, she continues to hassle me for a 25% tip! We ended up walking out, and they didn't even bother helping us unlock the door. They argued over a $2 tip difference, and ended up losing over $100+ in services... Lol. There are lots of massage places in the area, but this is my go-to. I've gone to Lily a few times and she knows how to get any knot out of my neck and back. Don't be fooled by her size... These masseuses are strong. They can go as hard as possible (which is what I prefer) or lighter, depending on your preference. I usually come here after pulling/straining a muscle at the gym, or after waking up from sleeping in a bad position. This place always gets me back to normal, stretching out the muscles and taking out all the knots in my back. Dim lighting, relaxing music, and privacy. These masseuses won't spend time chatting with you or disturbing your peace. Pricing: $85 for 2 hours is unheard of. No where else in LA can you get a quality massage with that price. Just finished getting a massage and overall everything was great up until I was told it was required to leave a $10 tip which is the most aloof thing I ever heard of. I believe the amount of tip is based on the quality of service and the skill of the job performed on the persons body. I definitely will not be coming back due to being misinformed after receiving my massage. The quality of the massage was decent but not worth me having to mandatorily tip without prior notice. I walked in and greeted the lady in front and without looking up she pointed me to the hallway. Masseuse asked if I had an appointment and asked if it was 60 min. I said no and said I had told the lady in front I wanted 90 min on the phone. Paid $15 tip for a 90 minute $70 massage and the lady got pissed I asked for change for my $20 to tip her $15. I said thank you and she halfheartedly said you're welcome. I tried to leave but the door was locked. I asked for help and she did not try to help me because she was clearly upset. I should know better than to submit to a massage when communication is going to be an issue. Nevertheless, the very kind lady who scheduled my appointment recommended Simon as one of their more seasoned therapists. I had seen his name referenced in another review, so I trusted I'd be in good hands. It started off with him just walking into the room when he assumed I was ready. No knocking, no asking if it was safe to enter. He then started going at it right away, without asking if I had any injuries or areas I wanted him to focus on. So I stopped him, explained that I had an old shoulder injury and showed him where I needed him to be very careful and gentle. He replied in broken English that he'd be able to figure it out from feeling my muscles. Look, I get that massage therapists can read your body. But they're not psychic. That's why all legit body workers take a history! He spent most of the massage manhandling the very area I asked him to spare, using this weird finger friction technique and stopping intermittently to wipe off excess oil with extremely rough paper towels. I should say i can tolerate deep tissue work quite well, but not Aggressive work and not on an injured area! I kept asking him to go softer and he kept apologizing but then reverting to the torture technique again. There was nothing I could have done short of say "softer please" every single minute of the 60 minute massage. I wish I had left, but he seemed intent on healing something and I kept convincing myself that he surely knows what's best. Again, he was kind and clearly meant well. I couldnt bring myself not to tip (its just not my style), but I did tell the receptionist it was too hard of a massage to which she replied "thank you." Huh? Two stars because they were nice, it was pretty clean/quiet, and my husband had far better luck with his masseuse. But for me it was 1 star, because after several ibuprofen I am still in pain and my old injury is aggravated to a 7 out of 10 this morning. I was up all night in pain. I wouldn't recommend coming here if it's important to you that there be a clear line of communication between you and the person you're entrusting your body to. So upsetting. read more
