This is the worst massage I have ever seen. Service fee charge by the amount of people, no privacy at all, if someone just walked in and asked for service, your massage lady would leave the door open and left to take care the others. tips enforced to pay by cash, otherwise service fee again. I've been there a few times now. I think the skill of the massage therapists is fair, but what I really enjoy is how flexible they are to customize a massage based on your needs. Some other places only will do a preset massage. I also enjoy the free hot stones and how easy parking is in the area. It can be quite loud at times though. read more

I have a gift card less than a year old for $100 with no expiration date written anywhere and he refuses to let me use it because they are under new ownership. I informed him that the company is still Soul Massage and noted everywhere as Soul Massage and he said they are Soul Massage but they are also a different company but it's complicated and that it cost too much money to change the signs on the outside of the business... The value of the SoCal foot/reflexology massage is one of California's best kept secrets. Whenever I visit the east coast on holidays, I am truly disappointed that this phenomenon has not spread beyond SoCal. The fact you can get what is essentially an hour long full body massage (on the menu it is a "60 minute foot massage") and a very good one at that, for $25 is absolutely bonkers. KEEPING THAT IN MIND, you should tip these ladies well (easily $10-$20) because they are masters. If I could, I would come here everyday but I average about once a month with my wife and we both leave on a cloud. Each employee is psychic and can sense your tense spots and apply the appropriate pressure. And once they get to your feet... oh geez. I don't want to sound weird but I did not know it was possible to feel such tingly, eyes-rolling-into-the-back-of-your-head pleasure from someone squeezing my feet. If I could change just one thing about this place, it would be to somehow quiet the noise of traffic on Santa Monica Blvd, but I always end up forgetting about that a few minutes in. I had a great experience. The place looks clean, well-kept, and I happened to like all the pretty pink drapes. The art work on the walls is lovely too. Foot massage: start on the scalp, work the neck, shoulders... then each arm and fingers. Meanwhile my feet are soaking in warm water. Then she started on my feet: toes, soles, ankles, calves. Typically with these walk in cheaper massage places, the quality of the massage is at the least "okay". Obviously, you sort of get what you paid for. I thought I had pretty reasonable expectations for a last minute Sunday night massage to take the edge off but I was wrong. I was definitely getting massaged by someone who didn't have ANY training and did arbitrary massage-like-actions. Again, I didn't expect it to be that great but I think the lady working here literally used her forearms are rolling pins up and down my back. And then did the chopping motion a couple of times. It might not have been that bad but she also left a couple times to address the front desk and never closed the door. I could clearly hear there was a man a couple stalls down, and it made me super uncomfortable but at that point it couldn't have gotten any worse. read more

Got a $45 massage - full body and feet. The massage wasn't great at all. Her nails were not cut and kept scratching me. After the massage, I gave my card to tip and she asked, how much. I said $12, since it wasn't a 90 min and wasn't that great. SHE SAID NO, AND WENT AHEAD AND PUT $15 ON MY CARD!! Very unprofessional. Be careful before you tip. They'll force you to tip more - even when it's not deserved. Save yourself some money and go to Willow Spa across the street, Jai Dee down the block, or Chilltime Massage. Extremely affordable massage, from $25 an hour. My hour with my val peak coupon brought it down to $20.00. What was to be a hour foot massage turned out to be a combo massage. This being my first visit the Chinese lady was skillful and started with a head a shoulder massage for the first twenty minutes, a foot massage for the next 30 minutes and the last 10 minutes the electric chair was brought down and I was told to lie on my stomach and she completed the massage of my back. Every time I move to a new place, I find myself the closest cheap massage joint. Of course a massage at The Montage is going to reign supreme, but every now and then you just need a good drop-in option. The price is right here, but keep in mind that you get what you pay for -- and that's especially true at an Asian-run place. (I'm Asian, so I feel like I can say that.) Asian-run place means that you don't get niceties, it means you don't have a masseuse that coddles you and is trained in customer service. But is the massage good? Yes. Also, hot tip: the "foot massage" is actually a whole body massage, but you keep all your clothes on and you are on a reclining bed-type thing, versus a true massage table. It's a good option if you truly want to spend nearly nothing ($25/hr). I personally go for the 90 minute foot/body combo ($70 total, includes the tip). I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because I once found a cheap massage joint (still Asian-run) that somehow did include the phenomenal customer service. But that's uber rare. read more

For a cheap massage place in a hurry for $45, open late, my expectations weren't sky high but I was in desperate need of a massage due to traveling and work. The place looked clean and the massage was decent, not the best BUT not the absolute worst. We prepaid for our massage (which they added $2 processing (pretty high to me, but ok and it was listed) and they asked for tip. I said we would pay after. I didn't expect a non-spa massage to allow you to pay after so I was okay with prepaying but I tip based on service received. That's what a "tip" is. If that is not your policy, then change the price advertised. I've been in the service industry and have great tipping etiquette but I'm not prepaying that. We go to our respective rooms and both received average massages. When we got out of the rooms, I thought we could add the tip, we could not. So I dug in my pockets and came up with $16 and said I had a few more bucks in the car. The woman took it and walked back and the second lady comes out and says where's mine? And I was explaining and she said she could put it on a card and we keep our cash and now she said minimum tip is 21% and they have to charge the $2 fee. She even pointed to the sign with no wording of mandatory 21% tip. This place is a rip off even at the low price. That whole experience turned me off completely. They were rude and couldn't communicate very well and there was so much tension on the tip from start to end. Never coming back even if THEY paid me! Looks like I will be trying one of the other hundred on the street or stick to less frequent, higher end establishments. read more

Extremely clean and I love the white leather tables that clients lay on. The two employees that assisted me were very professional. Went here for my anniversary with my partner for a full body massage. I wasn't expecting much but we were very surprised and satisfied with the quality of the massages! The masseuses were great and didn't go too light or too hard. They used hot stones which was great. We left feeling extremely relaxed and satisfied. The only thing that disappointed me was that they didn't massage feet, you have to get the combo for that which I didn't notice. And the english isn't the best, but other than those things it was was overall 10/10! We will definitely be coming back. read more

I went there last week. The place is okay, convenient (1 block away from where I live), clean and quiet. The reason why I give it 3 stars is because while getting my massage, the woman took 2 phone calls. So she stopped the massage for it. When I asked her to massage my knees she did it and did it very well, but when she massaged my feet, she was a bit too rough. Of course I asked her if she could do it softer and she did it for a while and then went back to a very fast paced massage. Again, too rough. When I left I gave the masseuse a $3 tip. It could have been more? Yes. But it was still a tip. The woman shocked asked me: Only this?! At least $5! I was shocked because as far as I know, you tip according to what you think it's fair. So I had to break down a $20 bill so I could give her the $5 she asked me. I felt very uncomfortable, not only for asking me more tip but also the way she asked it. read more
