Amazing little place with great service and great food, and a chill ambiance. I'll will be visiting this place again. Fair priced.

Service was great. The woman in the front was super friendly and attentive. They say you eat with yours eyes first and this place didn't disappoint in the presentation, the food itself tasted great and the portions for the price is very reasonable. The place was cozy and clean. I would definitely recommend and go back.

This is a very small family run place. I took out dinner from here. Chaulafan de pollo and moro con pechuga were my dinner items, and both were really good. The carrot sauce was extremely flavorful. Green sauce was good as well. Nice to see another Salvadorian restaurant in Manchester.

The food is absolutely delicious and reasonably priced! Great portions! The service was a bit slow but the waitress was by herself waiting on 11 tables so if you're patient, you will love it! The restaurant is VERY simple! You can definitely tell it's a new start up, family owned restaurant and they are trying their best to provide the community with the best service and Ecuadorian food! The ambiance was very chill! Great, traditional music playing in the background. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

We had great time here in my Wife birthday!!! The food and the staff are the best. I will recommend this restaurant to my friends and family

Excellent ceviche! It's fresh, it's a really good size portion, and lots of options. My friend got the shrimp ceviche while I got the toquilla ceviche. I really enjoyed mine but I probably wouldn't get it again. I didn't enjoy having break crab legs. So, next time (and there most definitely will be a next time), I'll probably get the mixto ceviche. For now my task is figuring out when I go again. They have a lovely outdoor patio and the staff and wieners are super friendly and family oriented. Can't wait to visit again.

This was my first time trying Ecuadorian food, and I was very pleased! The plantain chips were savory, and we got some super tasty naranjilla juice. I got a plantain breakfast dish which was very hearty, and my sweetie got a rice dish which was equally hearty and very tasty. Not a bad meal for your buck!

Our first time trying this restaurant. We ordered the beef empanadas and the mixed grill entree to share. This was more than plenty for two people. The food was very tasty and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They have a great outdoor setup too. I definitely recommend checking out this new addition to downtown Manchester

Went to try this place for lunch/dinner and the Ceviche de Pescado was amazing, my wife is Ecuadorian and she love it and a very good size. All the food was wonderful as they came out to the people eating very nice presentation. They have outside sitting not very big but nice with typical Latin music. We be coming back for sure.

Menu is great, and the owners are trying new dish every Saturday. Stay tuned. So far I've had the ceviche and lomo saltado. Top tier.

What a lovely restaurant, nestled on Oak Street in Manchester, with ample public parking (free) behind the building! Went with my adult son who has a great foodie palate to try out this Ecuadorian restaurant I've been wanting to check out since it opened. Upon entry, we were immediately greeted and seated by a gracious host even though we were a bit early for our reservation. A delicious bowl of fried plantains with a yummy dipping sauce appeared. And we made them disappear just as quick! For dinner my son ordered the Lomo and I ordered the Ceviche Mixto. We were served in less than 10 minutes. The lomo was deep in flavor and the beef was melt in your mouth good. Served with French fries and rice it was a large dinner plating. The ceviche was a very large portion as well - really an appetizer for 3. The shrimp and fish were extraordinary and the dish was a perfect blend of all ceviche goodness. Used some plantains to scoop the tomatoes, cilantro and red onions dredged in the brine. We were both so full with no room for dessert, which is now our excuse to return pronto. Trying empanadas and flan next time! Price was appropriate for quality and amount of food. If you are thinking about heading to La Toquilla, don't hesitate! Support a local family business that we hope is here to stay!!!

The place looked spacious and with a lot of light, it looked clean and they seemed to have a nice selection of wines (for those that like it) , they were displayed for people to see, which I thought looked very nice. I went to the restroom to wash my hands and I found it odd that there was only 1 restroom for the size of the restaurant. Our waiter was nice, he took our order and we were excited. The food took a VERY long time, we were starving, and we had kids with us so that wasn't good. Some of our orders were wrong and so unfortunately we had to wait even longer for the right meal. We didn't order alcohol but we did older a couple of mocktails. I was SUPER excited for them because that's something I always appreciate at a restaurant. I'm sad to say that they were AWFUL!! straight up syrup, not bubbly (some were supposed to have soda in them) not sweet, simply not enjoyable at all, I ended up switching it for a simple club soda, I figured it was a safe bet. When my food came out, it was ok, I had the avocado toast, and it was forgettable, my sister had the chicken and waffles and now THAT was the meal to get, it was large in portion and that chicken was beyond tasty!! My other sister has the lomito sandwich with the chips and it was good, something missing but she enjoyed it. The rest of the food were burgers and they were ok, the kids had burgers and Mac and cheese and they were not tasty according to the children's disinterest in barely touching their food (and they love cheeseburgers). I'm always willing to bypass certain things as long as customer service delivers BUT unfortunately they fell short. We were celebrating an engagement and so we were all very happy and in a great mood, when suddenly workers around us were cleaning up the neighboring tables, and even sweeping very close to us. We thought the place was possibly closing? (Even though it was only 2:15pm). I asked if they were closing and they said that they close the restaurant from 3-4 so their employees can go eat .... I'm not against giving them a break BUT, it really felt like they were kicking us out, we felt pressured to eat fast and wrap it up, not a good feeling, when you are in the zone of happiness. It was our first time there so, I would have appreciated if they would have informed us that the restaurant takes a little break in between and then we would have decided if we wanted to stay or go elsewhere. They did bring a little dessert and 2 mocktails for the newly engaged which was nice, I'll give them that. Overall, I don't think the food and experience was worth me coming back or recommending this place, I'm sure there's other much better places.

The Cosmic Omelet is a breakfast, brunch and lunch restaurant that opened in Manchester,…read moreConnecticut in October 2003. It was founded by Tracy Devine. When she purchased the small restaurant space in Manchester, it was already an existing restaurant called "The Smoking Cafe". Just before the purchase, the Connecticut General Assembly had passed a smoking for restaurants, which was going to go into effect soon. Many of the regular customers were smokers, but Devine soon won them over with her menu of "out of this world" food. The new business was dubbed "The Cosmic Omelet" and by 2005, a beautiful cosmic-themed mural had been painted on the walls of the restaurant. Although the menu also features lunch items, it is the breakfast dishes that keep people coming back. Many of the dishes are named after and designed by staff or long standing customers. If you spot the word "cosmic" anywhere in the menu, it is code for "made with cream cheese". My family and I had brunch at the Cosmic Omelet over St. Patrick's Day weekend. I was first introduced to the place by one of my best friends who grew up in Manchester, and I've been coming back ever since. This was the first visit for my two sons. There was a little bit of a wait for a table, but there's plenty to do to pass the time. If customers follow the "yellow brick road" painted on the floor, it will lead you to a small arcade as well as a funky art gallery space. We all had a fun time exploring until our table was ready. They had a lot of delicious St. Patrick's Day themed specials during our visit. I had the "Sheep Go To Heaven" (shepherd's pie omelet w/ ground beef, corn, mashed potatoes, cheddar & Guinness gravy), my wife had the "Fiesta Omelet" (sausage, onions, peppers, cheddar, side of salsa & sour cream), our sons shared the "Sweet Cream (Green) Pancakes", and we also ordered sides of "Hashbrowns" and "Corned Beef Hash" for the table. As usual, everything was fantastic! The omelets were chock full of delicious ingredients, the pancakes were perfectly fluffy, and the home fries were out of this world! We plan on returning to the Cosmic Omelet again and again!

The look of the place is still a mix of quirky diner and casual neighborhood spot, but over the years they have expanded quite a bit into neighboring spaces. It is noticeably larger than it used to be many years ago, but it still feels like the same locally-owned, friendly, affordable, quirky, casual, bustling place with fun decor that it has always been. The food is certainly also a big reason people keep coming back. If you have never been, you will quickly notice that some of the omelets are creative and a little unusual. A few include things like cream cheese, which might sound odd at first but often works surprisingly well. Of course they also have plenty of classic breakfast options if you want something more traditional. In general the food has been consistently good. The place can get busy, especially during peak breakfast hours, which says a lot about how popular it still is with regulars. Once you are seated though, the service tends to move along quickly and the staff are friendly in that slightly quirky way that fits the personality of the place. Overall Cosmic Omelet is still one of the better breakfast spots in the area. Good food, lots of personality, and clearly a place that has built a strong following over the years. Although I have moved much further away since my 2009 review, I will still stop in when I am back in the area.

Hello, I'm writing because I had an uncomfortable experience at Maggie McFly's today that I feel is important to share, especially because this restaurant has been such a big part of my son's life. We've celebrated multiple birthday gatherings here, as well as his middle school graduation. It's genuinely his place. It is not my personal favorite, but we come because he insists Maggie McFly's has the best grilled cheese. Every visit, without fail, we order two grilled cheeses for him. Today, he ate the first one and it was perfectly fine. When he started on the second, he immediately said it tasted fishy. He kept trying to eat it because he didn't want to make a fuss, so about half of it was gone by the time we let our server know. She was very friendly and immediately said she would bring it to the manager. What happened next is what prompted me to reach out. The manager came over holding the half-eaten grilled cheese at an angle, almost like she was presenting it as evidence. The first thing she said was, "I'm confused, half of this is already eaten." My son explained again that it tasted fishy, and instead of empathy or even a simple "I'm sorry that happened," she repeated, "I'm still confused," as if she didn't believe him. There was no apology, no attempt to make the situation right, just an attitude that left both of us feeling uncomfortable. I even said, very clearly, that he was still hungry and I was happy to pay for another sandwich. I wasn't asking for anything free. I simply wanted my son to get something he could eat. Later, after the replacement sandwich came, she walked up behind us, saw that I had the Maggie McFly's website open on my phone, and said, "Did that come out better for you guys?" The tone suggested nothing had just happened, as if she hadn't been dismissive minutes earlier. The disconnect felt jarring. We got an $8 credit toward the bill at the end. The entire interaction felt dismissive and shaming, especially with the way she held the sandwich and questioned him. And the impact was immediate. My son walked out saying he never wants to come back, and that's really the most unfortunate part. This restaurant has been his favorite for years, the place he chooses for milestones and celebrations, and the one time he spoke up about something being wrong, he was made to feel small for it.
