The waiter "who just got there" and didn't know any drink specials (not a BIG DEAL, but annoying, he was very nice otherwise) The chipped plates? The underdressed bitter Caesar salad with croutons hard as marbles, and very bitter Romain lettuce, or the wet soggy pizza?! I was so excited to try this place, only to be let down. The calamari was good and a generous portion with lovely shrimp. Skip the over fried veggies they put in the basket. The pizza looked sooooo good- so imagine our shock as the topping slid off when cut into it. And who likes wet bread? The birds, that's who. SMH They will not sub sauces because it "confuses the kitchen" so don't ask... Disappointing from start to finish. The hostess was rude and more interested in chatting than listening, even after I spelled out the name on our reservation. The spaghetti carbonara was clearly left under heat lamps and came out dry and inedible--the waiter even acknowledged how dry it looked. About as authentic as it gets! Started the adventure with the bruschetta classica - basil, bread and diced tomatoes were crazy fresh - Massive portion! My bride had the chicken Marsala - perfecto (chef kiss). The Marsala sauce was so rich and light. Again, huge portion. I had the Rustica Blanca (pizza) - loaded with tomatoes (yellow, green and red along with diced sausage (crisp fennel) taste. Huge pie that I couldn't hammer. Went for a friend's bday and they didn't disappoint. The manager Ivan went above and beyond to make it great and the whole staff is exceptionally attentive. The restaurant was very hot when we were there but we were seated by the door. The pasta was great! But skip the table side served pasta as it's overpriced and not worth it. 2 of us arrived just before 7pm on a Tuesday evening. There were a couple of seats at the bar so we ate there. I did see a few tables empty, but the restaurant was 80% full and remained that was throughout our stay. SERVICE: Outstanding. Every employee we encountered had a genuine smile and they have a good rapport with each other also. Eulisa (Yulisa?) took great care of us, she is friendly, sweet and responsive. Denny is happy and conversational and added to the family feel. We were served promptly, with a generous serving of bread, cheese and oil to accompany the wine. BAR: The house red, $9 a glass, is a generous pour and had a wonderful flavor. The super Tuscan was $12 a glass and a generous pour. FOOD: Excellent. The Caesar's salad had crisp lettuce, tasty dressing and fresh shaved parm with crunchy croutons. The Garganelli bolognese was so yummy! Flavorful, quality meat and the sauce and pasta cooked perfectly. Generous portion, we split it. The table side tiramisu is not what I pictured. The ingredients are assembled table side, where the lady fingers are first laid down, coffee is poured over them, then the cream then delicate shaved dark chocolate. The flavors are good, but it is more of a liquid consistency, rather than the layer cake type of a typical Tiramisu. Personal preference for me is the more solid version. ATMOSPHERE: Warm, inviting. The sound system was designed with intention. We could hear the music, hidden speakers placed in strategic locations so it was truly background music which was not so loud to inhibit conversation. To start off, this place is AMAZING! Wasn't really looking for Italian food but we decided to go. Thank God we did! The food, the ambiance and the late night hours were prefect. I ordered the carbonara and meatballs. The food was out of hand. They also served us fresh bread in the beginning with delicious oil and vinegar. The carbonara was really creamy and the pancetta was perfectly cooked. Prices are also reasonably priced. One of the other highlights of this place is that it's open late. If you know Naples, you know that everything closes pretty early but this place is open till 1am with food. Fantastic brick-oven pizza and Italian eats with a cool and rustic ambiance to match. On a Saturday night it was packed but we were lucky to snag a two top without a reservation. Outdoor seating was filled but it was such a cheery ambiance inside with really fun decor. I love how they use empty crushed tomato cans to hold bread and the walls are covered in Italian food products. Hubs and I shared a pizza topped with ham, salami, olives, artichokes and mushrooms. The red sauce was so tasty and the crust was perfectly chewy and crispy. Overall it was a solid pie and very filling. We also tried bruschetta (tomatoes were soo fresh) and the fried burrata special which was basically like a large burrata mozzarella stick and was perfection. Service was slow, but not surprising given the crowd. Water is also not complimentary and we were only given the option of San Pellegrino. A little annoying -- I was joking that I truly felt like I was dining in Italy, hah! The two top chairs felt incredibly high for the table, so it was a little rough / uncomfortable to eat. Wow. We stopped in on Christmas Eve for a little staycation dinner (we're from Orlando) and this place alone will make me want to come back to Naples. I have never been so comfortably full from a restaurant everything is so fresh and tasted AMAZING. The service was fast, our bartender was picking up any dirty dishes as we ate and checked in on us plenty, which is pretty impressive considering this place was NOT empty whatsoever... looks like a lot of people had the same idea of Christmas in Naples! Also the restaurant itself is so beautiful the lighting the decor everything about it, I don't usually hop on Yelp to write a positive review UNLESS it is a place I will never forget, and wow this place did not disappoint especially considering we were bummed at first because we chose this place since our first choice was too busy. We are not from FL and found ourselves wandering 5th ave when we decided to peek in and check out the menu. Someone walking out after their meal advised use to "just do it" as it was the best food they had in awhile. They were not wrong! They have a drink special every day of the week. We went on a Sunday and it was $5 Prosecco (the day by day happy hour is on their website). We sat at the bar and our bartender was very attentive and fun. We got pizza and the cannelloni ricotta--both were amazing. The pizza dough/crust is perfectly baked in their wood fire oven. The food hit the spot and the bartender, ambiance were added bonuses.
