Came here many times but recently for a birthday, the experience was so cool! We had birthday shots and they sing to you (we brought a cake) and then the traditional champagne pop! Such a fun night! We loved their multi purpose use of tomato sauce cans and cheese graters as decorations. Service was friendly. AMAZING!!! That's all I can say to describe this place. 100% perfect meal. My husband and I ordered quite a bit today as we wanted to get several samples but also they have an outstanding happy hour! For the appetizer we ordered bruschetta and then the eggplant parm. Both were outstanding. The tomatoes were so fresh and the basil tasted like the just picked it! We both ordered a Caesar salad and it was LOADED with dressing and shaved Parmesan. So good! The main course was Quattro Formaggi and cannelloni. This is a MUST HAVE for all CHEESE lovers!!! Came to this restaurant before coming to Miami yesterday to have a good bite! When I checked in, yelp and the restaurant offered 10% which I asked to have applied... the very good waiter (way above average) told me the manager had to apply it, for me no problem! Then I asked the manager to apply it before going in with my phone... he took my phone to the office and brought it back! Well did NOT like that and even more, he was disappeared when time to pay came! Waited for 10 minutes and payed with OUT the discount.... Not the end of the world in $$ but the fact did annoy me big time! Would have preferred not to know that and wouldn't have minded not getting a discount! Well, end of this part of the review! The place is very nice, good decor, good ambiance, clean and very good service. As for food, bread is above average and a must for me. We had the Margherita pizza which was good, average good! I loved this place. The only con was the closeness of the tables. It's also noisey, but that's a good thing when you are with a baby and a 3 year old. They do play old school music which I loved. Temptations,four tops, Neil diamond. I ordered the tuna carpacio and had a salad and the tuna carpacio was 10 stars!!! I will be dreaming about this dish. This restaurant was amazing for my birthday on the 22nd. I ordered the carbonara and French Fries (I'm 13, as expected). They were amazing. I even wanted to order the pizza, which I've never tried traditional Italian pizza, but it was so hard to choose between the carbonara and pizza. The service was very good, the server was very nice. Before I left, since it was my birthday they brought me, almost like fireworks to celebrate my birthday. The atmosphere in La Trattoria was really good. I ordered the risotto fruitta de mare, no good. the rice was too heavy & too much. They served my coffee which was a very small cup with no milk. The food and service at La Trattoria are excellent! We made a reservation for 8 people - we were in town for my friend's bachelorette trip. I'm so glad my friend found this place because we had an amazing experience here. When we walked in we were greeted with a warm and friendly smile by one of the managers (I actually think he's one of the owners). He was very welcoming and showed us the way to our table. He introduced us to our server and asked if we were celebrating something special. I loved his charisma and his energy! He told us he would get my friend a shot on the house after dinner. We were all pleasantly surprised at the end of our meal when the bartender walked up to our table with a round of shots for all of us! He proceeded to do a cool trick with fire and handed all of us a shot. Amazing. Our server was perfect. Very friendly and attentive. Quick to bring out anything we needed. We ordered a few drinks, two pizzas, a couple of pasta dishes, and dessert (Nutella pizza). Everything was delicious and tasted so fresh. I felt like I was eating at someone's Italian granny's house. This is an authentic Italian place. Our server and even the manager/owner checked on us regularly. Every time the manager stopped by he made silly jokes that made everyone laugh. Music was jammin! And the service was above average. Unfortunately that's where the good news ends. My gf and I stopped here after arriving a bit late at Cafe Milano. I thought I had heard some good stuff about this place. I also was attracted to the late night hours. Well, their $12 Limoncello margarita isn't a margarita. Served in the same glass as water. Not sure if Italy or Mexico would approve of that. It wasn't anything special either. The owner later explained it was due to not having a proper bartender. While I understand I feel that without disclosure to the customer, they'll still expect a $12-worth drink. And they'll expect it to be up to par with the other $12 offerings on 5th ave. Not a biggie but it didn't help. Second round was for appetizers and we chose the Carpaccio de Tonno and Calamari. The salad came with the thinnest carpaccio I've ever been served. For a $16 appetizer salad it was not only small, but the tuna was nearly translucent. That again leaves you wishing you chose something else. Did the calamari save the day? Sadly, no. It was not crispy. It looked sad. Some pieces were rubbery, and others weren't terrible. It was all soggy, and very oily. It didn't taste like calamari. The dipping sauce wasn't bad however. The bill was $70 for two drinks, a small appetizer with receipt paper-thin carpaccio and soggy oily calamari. The server was a nice guy, owner who seated us was also super pleasant. Music was jamming too! But we didn't go for those things. We wanted delicious Italian food late night and this did not hit the spot. read more

My family and I came to this restaurant as a second option. We had reserved at a restaurant nearby, Molto, and let me just say, they had the potential to ruin our night. The staff and owner were so incredibly rude to us at Molto that after waiting for 40 min even with a reservation and treated so badly we had to leave. We went to La Trattoria and I can say they were so gracious, accommodating and sweet. We were immediately sat at a beautiful table. The decor was so nice and the pizzas outstanding.
