Wanted to love it, just didn't. It has (and if changes are made) maybe still has room for potential. Milano fills a need in the missing Italian food options in Georgetown. But the execution just fell very short. 1. Decor - the faux stained glass on the exterior draws curiosity, but should be a larger concern over the icky cheap decor inside. Either do it right, or don't. It feels tacky. 2. Plastic pre-prepped dressing cups on top of salads - I get the time saving idea (sort of), but dont put it on top of my greenery and how much better would it come across if a prep worker could pour dressing into a dressing cup? Plastic says we dont want to take the time and youre not worth the time. 3. Bar - again, do it right or don't do it. Four months to get your liquor license and staffing isn't figured out? The manager on duty should be cross-trained or the owner needs to be doing it, but to have no one there. Same situation as the former Brown Barrel and that vibe meant you lost out on 6 drinks our table would have ordered. 4. Food - fine. Nothing to write home about. read more

We went to celebrate my birthday with family. They do not take reservations but we were seated in fifteen minutes after arriving which is reasonable. I noticed that most tables were filled which is understandable because the meals from their menu are family recipes and prepared as ordered. Our server informed us that the kitchen was running behind and offered more bread while we waited. read more

This place is no longer called Milano's it's called Grappa. The food is about the same prices are higher but the service is horrible. There was only two of us and they put us between two groups of people in a pretty empty restaurant. And then kinda forgot about us. The two groups on both sides of us got great service and we waited for drinks to get refilled. Then when asked for to go boxes well didn't get a bill and had to wait again for that. So if you don't mind bad service but good food then I would say go and have two hours for dinner as you might get forgotten. Will be a long time before we come back my time is with worth more than waiting for a waiter talking to coworkers and playing on a phone. read more

Priced this place while driving past and wanted to give them a try. Went to their website and clicked to order online. A pop-up asked us to download an app as it saves the restaurant and the customer fees. What a pain, but ok, download the app, place the order and waited. Waited, and waited. Eventually a delivery driver who speaks no English called from the restaurant. He had the restaurant staff speak to me. They say a different DoorDash driver picked up my order and they could not re-make my items because the didn't get a reorder from DoorDash I explained that I didn't have a different driver, only the one who called me and I did NOT receive my order. The restaurant who picked the app and delivery service, gave my order to someone else, and did not care at all about trying to help me with my $100 + order/ charges. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else! read more

We had lunch today. The Milano signage is up, and we asked if they were Milano or Grappa since there is a website for both and both show the same picture of the inside of the restaurant. The answer we got was "I am just a server here, I have no information". Our food was good, service was good. Whichever name they go with, we will return. Wow...what a strange experience...the food was fine (except the spicy pasta grappa) , but numerous things were WAY at of wack. First, with signs for red wine on placard at front, we find no alcohol. Half salads comes with pasta and entrees, BUT MUST be Caesar with entrees and garden with pasta. And while menu explicitly says half salad comes with em, if you don't request it you don't get it. Finally, we had to make a manager request to get a pizza box to take nearly a full pie left over to home. Server brought 2 bread plates with 6 people at table. When told we needed more napkins, she brought 2...so overall place is managed weird and this server needs more training. Calzone was good, pizza ok and some entrees ok. read more

Their food is delicious and rich in flavor. Our waiter was very nice, informative and attentive. Their prices are reasonable and competitive. Milano's is so much better than Olive Garden and is now my favorite Italian restaurant. They have it decorated beautifully even down to their restrooms. I love the large water fountain in the middle of the restaurant. The sound of the water is soothing. I highly recommend you give them a try if you haven't already. read more

I was very impressed with this new restaurant in Georgetown Ky. The atmosphere was comfortable and very old world Italian. the meals were awesome with an excellent red sauce. If you want to get seated in the order you come in, this is apparently not the place to go. Guy wasn't even apologetic, just kept saying one moment after he sat a group same size as ours that came in 10 minutes after us. We had gotten the text table was ready, our handicapped mother had already stood up. Was still another 5 minutes at least before we were seated. Good thing for them the food is good, otherwise this would be a 1 star. Music is way too loud to enjoy your companions. read more

My son had taken his girlfriend here for lunch and raved about the gorgeous murals, fountain, decor, & most importantly the food! So off my husband I went to try it out on a lazy frigid cold Saturday late afternoon. Milano's is located in a very small strip Mall that has Fire glass blowing shop in it. We walked in and were wowed by the gorgeous hand painted Italian murals, the beautiful lighting, spotlessly clean, and warm atmosphere. We arrived around 3:30 so there were maybe 3 tables with patrons and we were seated in a quiet booth near the beautiful bar area. Our waiter arrived promptly for bringing us menus, taking our drink orders, and answering questions. Soon warm breadsticks with generous sprinklings of Parmesan and a rich, thick, tomato marinara arrived to our table. I had to limit myself so as not to fill up before the meal. These were above average breadsticks, ya'all! My husband requested a custom salad from salad toppings shown on various salads on the menu and the restaurant was able to accommodate and happily did so at a very reasonable price. The menu is extensive so it took a bit for me to decide on eggplant Parmesan which I mainly chose because I don't make it at home and hadn't had it anywhere in awhile. Our waiter was on top of drink refills and checking in on us just enough but not so much that it would be disruptive or annoying. Always great! We both really enjoyed our food and I'd just request the spaghetti that was a side with the eggplant Parmesan to have less of the red sauce next time. The red sauce was good just very thick and a bit tart for my tastes so less of it would suit my preference future times here. The bar seemed to have lots to offer and upon leaving we noticed a Happy Hour sign listing certain drink discounts depending on the day of the week. We were impressed by the extremely reasonable prices and the variety of menu offerings. We look forward to bringing friends here and returning many more times! read more

My husband and I decided to give this place a try. We enjoyed it. First, the ambiance is gorgeous. We like the setting. The service was fast and friendly. For appetizers they brought out some bread and we added some cheese sticks. It was average compared to other places. My husband ordered the Italian Meatballs Calzone for his entree. It was gigantic. He barely out a dent in it. But he says it was delicious! For my entree, I ordered pasta. The Vesuvio with chicken which is basically like chicken Marsala but cooked in white wine sauce instead of Marsala wine sauce. It was tasty but I would have liked my pasta noodles to have marinated in the sauce a bit longer to make it a bit for flavorful. The big hitter for me was the Italian Margarita. Delish with a fling! Overall, it was slightly better than good. We will likely return to try something different and see if the service and drinks are consistent and maybe the food will be even better next time! read more

We went back to milanos. We got the worse waiter on earth. His name is Andy. Here doesn't listen. We told him fettuccini sauce on my Sons noodles. He brought the wrong order not once but twice. It took forever to get his correct order. The rest of us had already eaten. The bread is very dense. It's like eating play dough. The salads are decent. Andy would never refill the drinks, clear the dirty dishes off the table. I put the dishes on another table. He is 1 of the worst I have had in my life. The chicken looks like boiled crap. Who boils their chicken? The frutti de mare is not worth the money. I wasn't impressed by their puttanesca. If you go there ask for susanna. I doubt if I return?!!? It's the only Italian restaurant that only employs all Mexicans.... they maybe better as a Mexican restaurant, not Italian. read more

While staying at a hotel in the Springhurst area, we had a hankering for Italian. We ordered dinner for delivery - tri-color pasta and meat ravioli. Both were very tasty. My wife and I have come to like this place. Yes, it is a bit pretentious with its Lobster Linguini and similar items that really should be on the menu. However, if you want an excellent pizza pub it fits the bill. The sandwiches, pizza, calzones, and salads are all great and they often run good drink specials. The service has always been fair to good and the free bread that comes out is very tasty. The ambience is a strange combo of tacky Italian themed that manages to be cute. We recommend. read more

The first two times we visited, we were in love! We ordered baked spaghetti and baked lasagna. Told our friends about it. The third time we came, the service was HORRIBLE! I purposely slurped my empty cup for 20 mins to hopefully catch the attention of my waitress who was congregated in the booth next to us with other staff. Stop here! We stopped here because it was close to the hotel where we were staying the night. Fantastic happenstance choice. Friendly greeting upon entering. We arrived with only one hour until closing, so it was empty (well past regular dining hours). We got our drinks promptly and a basket of breadsticks. The breadsticks had olive oil and cheese on them and were delicious. We ordered a pizza (we did not see where they had thin crust), but the menu did emphasize that they made their own pizza dough. Short wait for the pizza, and it was epic....loaded with topping and cheese, they did not skimp. The menu was pretty extensive with other choices, so I feel that there would be something for everyone. If we lived in the area we would definitely be back. The only complaint was the AC was set too low for me. The restaurant had murals painted on the walls and the booths had high backs so you could not see the people either in front of you or behind you. Easy. Easy 5 star. This is actually in my top 5 restaurants in this whole city. I've wanted to go here for awhile and we decided to spend part of our day out and about. They had the front side of the restaurant open to let air into the area. THERE WAS A FOUNTAIN IN THE MIDDLE INSIDE! It was elegant but not too fancy. It was a casual place to go. The Cheeseburger Calzone might have been a bad idea in a good way. IT WAS MASSIVE! It was way bigger than my hand. It was amazing. $9.99 for an insanely large meal. I would get it again. I had ordered the Italian Style Cheese Bread because I thought it would be a basket to share, I was wrong. The basket of bread is free. I had ordered a pizza with no sauce as an appetizer. It was still an amazing item to have with my meal. I put it in a to-go box for my lunch tomorrow. I can't imagine how great it will be air fried. We had also ordered Bruschetta with toppings. It was light and tasty. Can't go wrong with bread, tomatoes, and mozzarella. The Free Basket of Bread was a great starter. It was crispy but dense in the middle. The marinara sauce on the side was warm and elegant. I couldn't get enough of it. If I had any tips about this place, it would be don't order cheese bread. You get some in a basket already. Now I'm not saying DON'T order it at all, it was amazing.
