This spot just opened. So let's see if they're pretty good eh or ew. The owner is super nice and they were sold out of a bunch of their pastries by the time I got there but I was able to try their Nutella cheese concha. The bread was super fluffy, pillowy, sweet, and cinnamony and had a crumbly buttery cookie top and was filled with a bit of smooth Nutella and cream cheese. I ordered a small Cafe de Olla. And it was just okay; nothing really stand out. Service was fast. Female staff were competent, docile and friendly. Cafe decor is vibrant with mini banderitas and logo neon sign. Overall, it's a modest coffee shop but there are better shops in the plaza. read more

This is a VERY popular mini-food-truck-type business. This trailer is conveniently parked daily on Badillo Street, directly in front of Covina Park. On my first visit, there were 10 people in line to order and/or awaiting their number to be called via the electronic buzzer they provide each customer. They offer many choices of drinks, and according to other customers in line, this is the only place they purchase their morning beverages, as they are delicious The two female employees working inside were friendly and polite. I waited about 15-20 minutes for my drink but truthfully, the flavor and the service more than made up for the wait. This isn't a stop-n-go shop after all, this isn't a Starbucks. This is a small business. The coffee truck is located next to Covina Park, so there's plenty of parking and space to wait. I really like that they have seasonal drinks, keeps customers like myself looking forward to new drinks every season. The employees are also very sweet. Great service, nice concept. Loved the Hispanic treats! The coffee was just ok for me. There was a long line when we there and a wait to get our coffee. Usually when we get coffee we're on the go, so this wasn't convenient but it was a nice coffee shop over all. Cute decor too! read more

Fresh and delicious the chocolate croissant was hot, flaky, and nicely sweet. We got the mini berries tres leche which was not too sweet and just right. Very moist. Their matcha latte and The Teddy were nice and hot. Teddy had the right amount of sweetness to it. The truck is cute! And they have an automatic screen to place the order. So make sure to not bring cash. The matcha price was around $7-8 which is standard for good matcha. And theirs(strawberry matcha) is pretty good. (Ceremonial and they offer different milk options). My boyfriend got their iced flavored latte which he picked with Horchata and cold foam. It was super taste. And lab kit $6-7. They ran out of ham&swiss croissants but over all the drinks were tasty. Will be coming back again! Took a star off because its by a park, not much human interaction and they don't take cash. read more

The matcha used to be delicious, but these past 3 times I got the strawberry matcha and the vaquita matcha the quality unfortunately has not been the same . Please go back to making it how it use to be . read more

Came by about two hours after opening and still ended up waiting 45 minutes. Unfortunately, most items were already sold out and the drink I ordered was pretty mediocre and lacked flavor. I'm writing this as a constructive criticism. As a latina myself, I want to support latin-ownded small businesses. However I had a not so great experience at Vaquita at Haven City today. I asked for 2 specialty cold coffees and two hot chocolates. The cashier look perturbed at the hot chocolate request and asked another barista for help. I specified just chocolate & milk warmed. I guess there wasnt a button for that so they charged me for two "mexican mochas" in their place and said theyd make the adjustments. I delcared I did not want espresso just chocolate and milk and they obliged. SO i went to pay for 4 drinks total. The wait was very long, and the baristas did not look rushed or focused at all, the cashier even came out from behind the counter to chat with some friends who came to visit her even tho orders were BACKED UP and many parties were waiting for their drinks. I waited a total of 28 minutes and when they finally started on my two hot chocolates I noticed the barista reached for the mexican mocha powder. I called out to her thinking she had forgotten about the adjustments and she tried correcting me saying this is what I ordered. I apologized and explained to her I was requesting simple hot chocolate (chocolate & milk warm) but since there wasnt a button for that, they charged me for mexican mocha instead. She seemed confused even tho she was the barista who originally coordinated with the cashier 28 minutes earlier. Finally she understood what I was requesting and proceeded to make them. However, I dont think I should have been charged for two "mexican mochas" when in fact i just wanted chocolate milk. And the wait time could have been better if they focused and kept working. Also the back counter was completely messy, opened containers, unorganized, the staff looked confused even keeping track of their orders/tickets. I really want this latin owned business to thrive here but the service, the lack of urgency and the disregard for proper menu options could have been much better. I hope they fix it. read more

I came to try the pistachio latte but it was seasonal and I missed it noooo but I tried the busy bee iced latte with almond milk and honestly It was really good! Little hidden gem in Haven City! Greeted by 2 friendly Baristas! Workers are always so friendly and knowledgeable w the beverages.
