I usually tend to talk directly to the people, but this is now the second time I've walked into ice cream chef I had the worst experience possible. A few years ago I came in and the person working the front was extremely rude to me. Let me know I contact with me, didn't greet me, we had to get their attention and when we did, they gave attitude. I ended up walking out and they're not purchasing anything. Years ago when they first opened, I used to work in one of the nearby shops and people that were so kind and reall I used to genuinely care about and support this business, but the customer service has steadily declined. Today, I walked in with my service animal. As soon as we entered, he lay down because it was extremely hot outside. Like most dogs, he was curious about the smells around him, but he remained calm and under control. The employees at the front asked whether he was a service animal, and I told them that he was. While I was trying to place my order on the tablet, no one offered to help me. My dog walked a few steps away from me while still attached to his leash. There were no other customers in the shop. One of the employees told me that if my dog continued to pull against the leash, she would have to ask me to leave. After noticing my reaction, she quietly added that I could leave him outside. I simply replied, "No, thank you," and walked out. I understand the importance of maintaining health and safety standards and following company policies, but the way this situation was handled felt unnecessary and unwelcoming. My dog was not bothering anyone, and there wasn't a single customer in the store. Businesses should also understand that service animals are protected under the law and generally cannot be excluded simply because they are present. A service animal must be under the handler's control, but asking someone to leave under these circumstances was disappointing. Unfortunately, I won't be returning. read more

My daughter wanted ice cream after the movies and we decided to give this place a try since it is in the same plaza and it was SO GOOD! We got the PB Chocolate and Nutella and we were both very happy with our choices. They are like $10 each but as a reward treat it is totally worth it! There was only one staff member but she was very kind and helpful! She noticed a customer had their dog outside and offered a cup of water for her pup which was so thoughtful!! The order took about 2 minutes to make. It's creamy, richer and firmer than store bought or scooped ice cream. Good taste and texture, but because of the roll gimmick, it's pricier than other places. Came here last December. This is located in the same plaza as the movie theaters. I love that they have the half and half option available. The ice cream takes about four minutes of preparation since they make it as you order. It's pretty cool to see how they make/mix them. I got the chocolate milk and vanilla milk. The flavors are good and tastes authentic. I can definitely feel the difference in texture since they mix and roll it up this way. It's not light and fluffy like regular ice cream. This is dense and packed in a good way. My mom got the taro and vanilla and she liked it. It's a bit pricey in my opinion, but I feel like most ice cream places are in this price range nowadays. I would've liked to have seen a few more slices of the fruit rather than just 3 slices. Nonetheless, it was still delicious! The young guy working behind the counter was kind and inviting. There's glass so you can see them working on the ice cream and rolling it up. We were the only customers in there so our cup came out quickly. Rolled ice cream is always such a fun dessert! Then Covid struck, lots of places closed and some didn't recover. It was great that they re-opened in April 2021. I won a year's worth of ice cream (one a month) playing their roulette. As if I needed more incentive to get ice cream. I've tasted their rocky road, s'mores, horchata, and, taro ice cream. Of course I like the rocky road the best. It's fun to watch how they mix and nudge the liquid cream on the cold slab until finally they roll the ice cream and slowly assemble them into a cup. When you choose from one of the Chef's Specials, the topping are already set. It's not bad, it's not great though. I'd say overrated, it's pretty much just like Icicles and not worth the price. But the staff was friendly and I LOVED the topping labels - cinnamon toes cranch and niller walfors cracked me up. It's this meme which I think originated with RANIBOW SPRIMKLE, and I just thought it was really funny. I think that brought it from 3 stars to 4 stars. But the service was 5 stars and my 11 year old cousin loved the ice cream, and we did go for her, so mission success I guess! I just personally wouldn't buy it myself. Lucky for me, her dad (aka my uncle) paid for us so that was cool for me! The complex is nice. Lots of parking. Located in The Lakes Mall complex you might not know it's there as it's not very visible from the street (it is in the same area as Edwards Cinema). This is a rolled ice cream place so it takes a few minutes to mix, pour, and roll the ice cream. They have several "chef specials" which are in-house concoctions that are pictured on their menu board. Or you can create your own. I chose one of the specialties: "coffee". This ice cream treat consisted of rolled coffee ice cream with chocolate wafers, sprinkled chocolate graham cracker crumbs, chocolate and caramel syrup, and some whipped cream. The ice cream rolls had a fairly strong coffee flavor which I enjoyed and all the toppings were sweet and delicious. Next time I'd ask for a little more of the syrups (that's just me and my sweet tooth). And they were so backed up that they gave us the marshmallow burnt instead of remaking another one.
