I always look forward to supporting black owned businesses in South Florida. So I was so happy to try this spot for the first time, rum punch was fantastically made with Wrey & nephew , food was freshly made and seasoned well, love the lively ambiance. A great place for a date night or to watch a game or even go just for good music and drinks. We ordered the bread fruit and spicy shrimp appetizers that were both soooo good! Then for dinner we did steamed, escovich snapper, salmon and curry goat. Everyone loved their meals. Only criticism was service was a bit slow in the beginning but we appreciated the communication. And rice was a bit undercooked and hard, like bottom of the pot rice, but rice and peas had great coconut flavor. Will definitely be back and recommend to fam & friends!

Visited on the recommendation of a friend. Wow, was she right. This is an amazing authentic Jamaican restaurant. With the live band on Friday night, the atmosphere was really perfect. My father-in-law sang along to every tune. It got a bit busy as the night went on but the staff was attentive and friendly. Everyone really enjoyed every selection we made from the menu. It was all cooked to perfection and nothing was lacking bold flavors. Perfect for a date night, a family celebration or just a place to hang for the night. Not sure about other nights but definitely make reservations on Friday nights.

This establishment was huge, with a full bar, plenty of indoor seating, a separate carryout section, and outdoor seating as well. The staff was friendly, attentive, and provided quick service. The menu had a great variety, offering everything from traditional main dishes to desserts and beverages. I ordered two doubles, which were okay--I've definitely had better--but the sweet bread was delicious! My sister had the pholourie, and my mom ordered the goat roti. The roti was filling but a little too spicy, even for us, and we definitely like some heat! Unfortunately, her cassava pone was a bit dry. Overall, there were some hits and a few misses, but there's plenty more on the menu I'd like to try. I'm sure I'll be returning for more Trini delights!

The waitress (she was black and had a short pony tail and she was big too) did not greet us, looked very uninterested when taking our orders , seemed very moody and when I said " I want to order ......." She replied very coldly "WITH WHAT?" And looked at me with big threatening eyes. When she placed the orders on our table, I said thank you but she did not even respond back to me. No spoons , no fork , no plates , absolutely nothing. We were sitting at our table with the food with no utensils. I had to go up front and grab everything myself. The waitress did not even come back to check on us. She took our orders and left , that's it. Honestly, owners can do better with training these ladies running the businesses. Very poor service. We will not be coming back.

The oxtail was incredibly tender, flavorful, and fell right off the bone. The pasta was perfectly cooked and coated in a rich, creamy sauce that paired so well with the seasoned oxtail. If you're looking for a spot that's perfect for date night, birthdays, or a night out with friends, Kekoon is worth checking out. I'll definitely be back to try more from the menu! For $60, their brunch offers unlimited drinks and food. I dont know what I expected but the quality and flavor of the food caught me off guard. The Jamaican spread was delicious. From jerk chicken and pork to pepper shrimp, oxtail and dumplings. The pepper shrimp is a must try! Brunch drinks were Bellinis, mimosas, margaritas and rum punch. Pro tip: mix the Bellini with a little rum punch and thank me later Chef Ricardo was an absolute darling, making rounds to our table, to ensure we were ok. I have to mention Michael, the manager, going above and beyond to ensure we felt welcomed. He joined in on our birthday celebration and kept the vibe going with birthday shots. The DJ here was also incredible. Spinning hip hop, reggae, dancehall, soca, mixing it just right for the diverseness of the crowd. Hookah was also on point. A bit pricy but well made. The bathroom situation was a little disappointing. Two stalls in the female bathroom with only one working. Hopefully this is not a permanent situation and will be looked at soon. There is lots of free parking around the restaurant. Great food & good vibes

We arrived around 11 PM on a Friday and the place had great energy. It was lively without feeling overwhelming, and a few tables looked like they were celebrating special occasions, which added to the vibe. The music was excellent and honestly brought back a bit of that nostalgic, high school party feel in the best way. We ordered a couple of drinks and they were definitely strong and well made. The service stood out just as much as the atmosphere. The owner was incredibly pleasant and attentive, checking in with us several times to make sure we were taken care of. You could tell she genuinely cared about the guests. I also learned the owners are Trini and Guyanese, which I loved because it added a nice personal touch to the experience. As a first time visitor, I really appreciated that she thanked us for coming when we left. It made the experience feel welcoming and personal. I'll definitely be back to try the food. As a vegetarian, I'm hoping to make a special request since there aren't many Chinese vegetarian options on the menu, but I'm confident they'll accommodate it. We left after 1 AM and people were still coming in, so it's clearly a popular late night spot. Great location right off University with plenty of parking, which makes it super convenient. Overall, a great night, great energy, and a place I'll be returning to.

Everyone who spoke to me looked me straight in the eyes. To a soul each person was polite, friendly, and helpful, and personable. Honestly, I haven't been treated like this in a restaurant in ages, maybe ever. But that was just the beginning! All guests are offered complimentary lemonade, and trust me, you want it. It's yummy. I had thought I'd just grab to-go, but when the staff asked and I looked around at the rustic homey setting, I decided to stay. So glad I did! As I would discover food like this is best enjoyed with other people around. Plus it was a pleasure to see how the staff treated each diner and delivery driver with respect and kindness. After some time with the menu, I decided on Brisket and Two Meats, ordering mixed brisket, pork, and chicken. It came with fried cornbread and two sides. I wanted to try more sides so in addition to potato salad and collard greens, I ordered black eyed peas, and sweet yams. Good heavens what a delicious meal! The brisket was so tender and moist. Truly the best I've ever had. The pork was chunked up and very tasty. And the chicken had a great char. Once I'd tasted everything, and realized it could all stand alone with no sauces, I added the bbq sauces. After all that's what I came for, and wow did Lickie Stickie deliver! One bbq sauce is a red sauce with wine - insanely good on the brisket, and the other is sweet and tangy with mustard - delicious on the chicken. Both are perfect! The pork could go either way. I liked the red on it. The sides were all tasty. Collards are a favorite of mine and these were quite good. The yams were delightful. The potato salad was good. The food was a very big portion. I ate til I was full and took home two very full containers of food. My first bite of the evening was the black-eyed peas. It was my first bite and my favorite bite all evening. Now, that in no way diminishes the utter deliciousness of all the rest of Chef Lynette's cooking. My eyes repeatedly rolled back in my head this whole meal., But it does tell you how much I loved those black-eyed peas. They had okra and turkey in them and they were beyond excellent. Food like this only comes from love. Go get ya some!

Chef Juliette and the Lickie Stickie crew hold a very special place in my heart. The love and light…read morethat lives in Chef Juliette truly trickles down through her staff and shows up in every detail of the service. No matter when I visit, it's always a warm, hospitable experience--honestly reminiscent of The Ritz-Carlton. Surrounding businesses could learn a great deal from them. I first met Chef Juliette during a visit from DC in September 2025. My best friend introduced us, and immediately I felt the love of a mother and the passion of a seasoned chef who genuinely loves what she does. And that passion? It translates directly through the food. A few weeks ago, I was back in town visiting again, and the energy was exactly the same. We stopped by to pick up a catering order for an event, and Chef Juliette sent us off with pork chop sandwiches so big--and so good--I barely touched the catering food that day (thank goodness for to-go boxes and a freezer). I was able to bring back BBQ chicken, ribs, and the "Turn It Up Rice"--which is out of this world. Perfectly cooked rice layered with crisp vegetables, shrimp, chicken, and brisket... smoky, flavorful, and such a creative spin on fried rice. Then, the day after, Chef invited us back for a VIP experience--and when I say the love is real, y'all... it's real! She prepared a savory seafood étouffée enriched with shrimp and lobster, served over creamy polenta--an elevated take on traditional shrimp and grits. Paired with fresh-baked buttermilk biscuits, sausage from her brother in Georgia, and perfectly crispy bacon... everything was divine. The kind of meal that evokes emotion--the kind that makes you feel genuinely cared for. The restaurant itself feels cozy and welcoming--rich with history and personality. Every time I visit, I discover a new layer of her story which is told along the walls and decor. Chef Juliette is truly something special. If you're ever in the Pompano or Fort Lauderdale area, do yourself a favor and visit Lickie Stickie! And don't leave without trying the baked beans and black-eyed peas--Chef puts okra in them, and I don't want them any other way ever again. Outstanding.
