After hearing about it for a while, I finally visited this restaurant late at night when a friend and I decided to go out for drinks and I'm glad we did. We arrived around 11 PM on a Friday and the place had great energy. It was lively without feeling overwhelming, and a few tables looked like they were celebrating special occasions, which added to the vibe. The music was excellent and honestly brought back a bit of that nostalgic, high school party feel in the best way. We ordered a couple of drinks and they were definitely strong and well made. The service stood out just as much as the atmosphere. The owner was incredibly pleasant and attentive, checking in with us several times to make sure we were taken care of. You could tell she genuinely cared about the guests. I also learned the owners are Trini and Guyanese, which I loved because it added a nice personal touch to the experience. As a first time visitor, I really appreciated that she thanked us for coming when we left. It made the experience feel welcoming and personal. I'll definitely be back to try the food. As a vegetarian, I'm hoping to make a special request since there aren't many Chinese vegetarian options on the menu, but I'm confident they'll accommodate it. We left after 1 AM and people were still coming in, so it's clearly a popular late night spot. Great location right off University with plenty of parking, which makes it super convenient. They helped us and served a buffet for almost 30 people. We were celebrating an 80th birthday. The food was delicious chicken peas, curry chicken, Asian rice, Asian chicken, and rotti. They need to have both types of Roti, and wrap them, I ordered a curry beef with potatoes and chick peas and I was very disappointed with the results, I had to throw it away. Also on their delivery menu they need to include Mauby as one of their drinks. read more

The service is a bit sub par, staff confused orders and missed our drinks order... willing to try again given that they were new and crowded. The one star rating is truly the best I can do. I'll give credit for how nicely decorated the inside is and the lovely overworked server. However, the food is absolute trash! We placed an order in this following order drink, appetizer and main course. The main dish came before the drinks and appetizer. The sodas called Solo was flat. The server let us know the appetizer was coming, hungry we started eating our main dish. We got the honey chicken combo, fried rice and lo mein. The rice was stiff and lukewarm. How does freshly made fried rice not steam? The lo mein was full of msg and some kinda preservative and hard. Tasted like it was warmed in a microwave and brought out. The honey chicken tasted like chemicals mixed with chicken. It was so bad. The server brought new drinks... same issue and the appetizer still didn't come out. When we let her know how horrible the food was she apologized and asked if we liked the appetizer. Shocked by her own question when she realized it still hadn't come out. When it did, we truly tried to eat it... fried shrimp wontons. Under cooked with raw shrimp chunks. As a person from the Caribbean I try to support my people and all businesses. NOT HALAL! I visited them one day and saw the trash being taken out and it was NOT HALAL, as a muslim Caribbean I'm very disappointed! I was so excited to try this restaurant, but it just did not live up to its reputation or the taste of authentic Caribbean food. I spent over $100, and honestly, it feels like it went straight down the drain. I tried them out several times, from when they open to now hoping they get better as they just opened, but no improvement, they lost me at the non-halal food! Playing with people religions is not nice, if you can't offer halal just because it cost a lil extra just say so! First, the flavors were all off--everything tasted either overly sweet or overly sour, to the point where it felt like it was old or had chemicals in it. The Chinese chicken with fried rice was especially bad, and I'm sorry to say it's probably the worst I've ever had. The rice tasted stale, and the chicken was bland and oily, with an odd aftertaste. And the roti? It was so hard that it felt like it had been sitting out for days. Not fresh, soft, or flaky like it should be. Even the entrees themselves were pretty horrible in both taste and smell, like they were made well in advance and just reheated. I had really looked forward to enjoying some true Caribbean flavors, but this just wasn't it. Overall, a big letdown and definitely not worth the money. Being a carib restaurant they dont have the crowd you'd expect at like Joys and Lallos, nicely decorated but come on food has to be top tier regardless how it look you know. I had high hopes for this place but was deeply disappointed. This is an unfortunate representation of Caribbean food and culture. Firstly, the food is made to order. This is understandable but we waited an hour for the most underwhelming experience. The guy at the table across from us got up yelling and walked out because of how long he waited for his appetizer. The food had little to no flavor. The pepper shrimp was too sour and everything else was mushy, cold, and the rice was too hard. Service is okay, the ladies here are somewhat nice. Let's not address the snarky comment made by the host to my mom. There's no ambiance. Nice theming but it's quiet as there is no music or tv on. We attended on a Sunday (Mother's Day). Firstly, the place is very spacious and I believe before this restaurant it was a waste Indian restaurant but nevermind that it can accommodate many people with a nice size bar!! Also I will definetly going back for some rum punch. Secondly, I ordered curry goat, rice and peas, and came with cabbage & assorted vegetables. Let me start by saying the goat was super tender with so much flavor and could drink the gravy!! The rice and peas and vegetables where very so good as well. Thirdly, the only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars going by the food is because I wish they would have given me a little bit more goat since the pieces that were given had a lot of bones.. Also I would have liked to have a little bit more rice and peas. Lastly, overall I will bring my wife back so we can dine in and try some more things on the menu. I came along this new restaurant by recently and I must say I truly enjoyed my time here. From the cleanliness to the outside of the restaurants location, to the cleanliness and beautiful atmosphere inside.. I'd called it luxury Caribbean dining. The staff made me feel welcomed and recommended some appetizers, entrees, and drinks that were most appreciated at the restaurant. I tried the Honey Garlic Wings, Fried Wontons, Pepper Steak Combination with the Fried Rice and Lowmein with Vegetables, and wow everything was delicious and packed with flavor. My meals were freshly made, and came out at a perfect time. Everything flowed well, and I must say this is a restaurant I would recommend to friends and family. From the moment we walked we received a warm welcome by owners Don & Usha. The restaurant was beautiful and super clean. The elegant decor was an added bonus. We had some delicious food from pumpkin, aloo and Channa curry w/ roti. Lo Mein, fried rice, Chinese Chicken and Pepper shrimp and we finished our meal off with some coconut ice cream. Needless to say we did not leave hungry or disappointed. The service and food were terrific. This will definitely be a place on repeat for us to enjoy the taste of our culture.
