What I did to past the time was browse the games I did saw a couple that I wanted and pick up three of them at the time so when I was ready to pay, I asked the guy if he takes Apple Pay he said yes Then I asked him questions about the Nintendo 64 games for super smash Bros and super Mario 64 he said those are not real. Those are authentic, I told him the games I wanted for transformers, he was about to go to a different section that I didn't found it at so when I realize what he was doing I told him not there and then I showed him where I found it and then yeah so I'm not sure what's up with that Same thing for the 360s and the PlayStation 2 games until I showed them where it was. I guess it might. He has a bad memory of where it is. I'm not sure. I saw more of luck review and if it is true that he is not passion and that depress then yeah you're not wrong. Like what's the whole point of working there if your don't like gaming but when I first saw him and when I asked him the question, he didn't look depressed. He look normal Besides that him repeating for the games and asking if it's yours, that's crazy like one he probably doesn't see the price on the cover or two. He has a very bad memory. But damn, that's crazy way different from my experience when I went there for the first time I guess go on your own risk or don't go For me, the only reason I went here is because I was far away from home and I was gonna go to Ross and I want to look at the area they have any retro games around the area and I saw this location so like why not and headed at that location the price is iffy, but I mean for the games they had the box I can't complain And since he's not passionate for the games, I mean, I don't really care. They sold me the wrong battery intentionally I told them specifically had a Nintendo DS light spent $30 on two batteries and they turned out to be regular Nintendo DS. They will not refund me The money or exchange for the correct battery batteries. I don't recommend asking them for help in any way shape or form they're not aware of the difference in game systems even though they are called a video game. They are clearly unprofessional and their vendors sell broken items as well they do no inspect their games or games systems so please be aware it's best they shut down read more

STEER CLEAR. Vibes were off the second i stepped in the door. No lights on. Almost felt super awkward, like this guy decided I wasn't worth his time immediately. I had called prior about checking some games I wanted to sell. Whole time I tried to make small talk and just have a regular interaction felt like this guy was so annoyed. Sucks to see someone so clearly not passionate about the community / video games in general working at a store like this. Most of what he said was he doesn't have time to play anything. Just seemed super depressed the whole time. But fine I'll let him be I thought. Took 20 minutes to quote me. He then repeatedly asked me if these were my own games?? Then just wouldn't say anything after I answered. The whole thing was very odd. Any questions I had about displayed items were brushed off or ignored entirely. Like dude you work at a semi local video game store, not louis vuitton. the least you can do is be pleasant / pretend to be when someone wants to give you business in some capacity. Of course, this all ended off with a DISRESPECTFULLY low offer with the caveat it would more in store credit. For reference on pricing, I would highly recommend looking for anything you want to purchase here locally on a Facebook marketplace or offer up. Prices are very high. read more

After hearing all the fallout promo hype and seeing the celebs who frequented here I decided to give it a shot. I normally don't go to melrose for the shit parking but figured it deserved some love. When we went I was surprised to see the place was actually quite small with barely enough space with the cases for one person to walk and bend over to look at every case. While they do have a lot of things to look at and some I haven't seen everything was astronomically overpriced for the ones I have or found at other places. Because of this we left with nothing unfortunately but hopefully prices go down to match the market and I'd easily come back to peruse the aisles. read more

Bought Pokémon blue and silver version cartridge at this store, supposedly they have different vendors who sell their items at the store in their own sections who only accept cash app or alternate payments specifically went through Daniel Aparico's section ($dannyphix-cashapp). I specifically asked the worker if they have new batteries inside the cartridge, worker assured me that yes they do and games fully function with no problems Well the blue version is corrupted and doesn't work for save files and seems to have a dead battery and crashes. Way overpriced. I visited 5 retro video game stores in the Los Angeles area and this store's prices were exponentially higher than the others. When I inquired about pricing they initially said that their games were priced at "market value" which simply isn't true. When I pressed further, they admitted to taking in a bit of a "premium" on the sale but still doesn't explain why their prices are sky high. Their games are priced 2x-3x market value and they get away with it because they're in a trendy location. If you're like me and you love retro games and you're on the hunt to complete your collection, stay away from this store. They're ripping people off here and they're laughing all the way to the bank. Take your money elsewhere. They do keep the store nice and tidy, so they get one star for cleanliness. read more

The service is good, but this store charges above the normal used retail price. They are very picky about accepting games for trade or store credit. Even when the video game that you offer is in good working condition and with no scratches, they will reject anything that isn't perfect like new or mint condition or not of their preference. Also they will give you 30%-40% of the game value, but they will sell it above market value under the excuse that is is at collectible level when in reality is just a normal good used game. If you are looking for normal video games at the normal prices, this is not the place to go to. I was expecting them to have a vast amount of games available that l was looking for but they are very limited in reality. They do have good collectible games, but it is up to you if you want to overpay them. read more

honestly i wouldn't come here again. I called ahead of time to confirm if they bought pokemon cards, they said yes and to come in anytime before closing. i got here around 5:20/5:30pm. Gave the girl my cards and she said to give her 20/25 mins to go through them. I said sure take your time. at 5:42pm the owner or whatever says he can't go through the cards before closing because it's "it's too much" THERE IS NO ONE IN THE STORE LOL, i told him what do you check on because i checked on so and so and it said this much look. he then said " even then i wouldn't buy at cash id do store credit" mind you i CALLED BEFORE MAKING THE TRIP. i live probably 50 mins away on the bus. he told me to come back earlier next time but over the phone it was "come any time before closing". Good selection of GBA games. I enjoyed looking around. Some stuff can be fairly pricey. Others are great deals. There are custom legos whcih are very cool. games for most any console. It's a tiny store, but worth stopping in if you are in the area. The guy behind the desk was fine and helped me get what I needed.
