    Asada Super Burrito
    Ramy H.

Oh how the mighty have fallen! I've always spoken highly of this place to friends in the area. If anyone I know is driving through Hollister, I'm eager to tell them about my "hole in the wall" spot with the best tortillas you've ever tasted. The food has never disappointed, the service was always friendly, and the ambiance welcoming and quaint. After a day of wine tasting in San Benito County, all I had on my mind was this burrito. I hyped up my friends and they were in. When we arrived, the place was at about 50% capacity. Not atypical. We sat down and were greeted fairly quickly and given a basket of chips and salsa. The salsa here is always delicious and I love that a few avocados seem to always make it in there somehow. Random... but delicious. After ordering our food, things seemed to take a really long time. Then food was brought out at different times and part of our party was halfway through their meal before the last plates arrived. We were a party of 5 so, not too big of a party and our orders were uncomplicated; a couple of burritos and some enchiladas plates. I can confirm that the burrito is still stellar. The tortilla tastes homemade (but I can't confirm for sure) and the fillings all seasoned and wrapped perfectly. The enchiladas though left something to be desired. They were lightly filled and the corn tortilla didn't have great flavor on its own. Not bad but not great. The rice was very dry and was the most disappointing thing on the dish. The beans were good but over-macerated and also overdone. Service this time was lackluster. We rarely saw our server and he seemed stand-offish for some reason. Maybe he's new? Overall, I'm still giving this place a 4 out of 5. Maybe this experience deserves closer to a 3 but I can't go there just yet. This could have been an off day and I'll still come back and try again. If this is their new normal though, that will truly be a letdown.

This was my second time visiting and let me just say.... Best burritos ever!!! The tortilla is SO FRESH. I ordered a chicken super burrito with the sour cream on the side. Service here is attentive, quick, and friendly. They offer complimentary chips and salsa which is always nice when you are waiting for your main dish. I can't wait to come back next time I'm in Hollister. YUM!

Liked the avocado chunks in the salsa. Got a chile verde ($15). Great tortillas, super tender and flavorful pork. Rice and beans were meh. Loved their hot sauce (the non-tapatio one that comes in a little salsa bowl). Lots of parking, good atmosphere, good service. Definitely 100% recommend!

I don't know. This place wasn't terrible, the burrito was kind of small. Flavor was dull.

Would not recommend this place to anyone! Food had no flavor, bland, not real Mexican food. Service was alright. Ambiance was just ok.

Everything I've tried has been delicious. I usually get their sushi and Tostada De Jaiva. Yesterday I got the carnitas tacos... oh my goodness they were hands down the BEST carnitas tacos I've EVER had. The corn tortillas are handmade and the carnitas were fresh and tender with a little crisp, AMAZING. I don't think the people of Hollister know, but they serve breakfast too. I wanna be selfish, cause I know there will be a wait once people find out, but I also want them to keep serving it cause it's so good. My husband usually gets the Huevos Rancheros, I get Chilaquiles Verdes w/ Cafe de Olla, and my kids get the pancakes that are not only beautiful, but so yummy. The chilaquiles are delicious, the tortilla chips have a good crisp in every bite. Their pancake batter is unique and definitely made in house, I wish I could get the recipe to make at home.

It's fine. My Spanish is not the greatest... but, I managed to stop in and order by pointing at some menu items they have listed. Ultimately, it all worked out. Managed to get an order in for carne asada fries and a round of tacos too. While the tacos were nothing to write home about--the carne asada fries on the other hand, were spectacular! The portion is huge and the flavors of all the ingredients are truly amazing. I don't want to sound corny, but each bite was like a friggin' fiesta in my mouth. Almost as good as the stuff I used to get close to the border when I lived in SoCal. Close. This place is a total hole in the wall, but definitely a great local find. Great service, amazing food variety and a good bang for your buck. Looking forward to stopping and trying their other offerings soon.

Per a Yelp check for a breakfast spot, found this place with Great reviews of huevos rancheros and chilaquiles and cafe de olla--so I knew we had to come here. It didn't disappoint! I got the Huevos Rancheros (no additional protein) abs my husband got the Chilaquiles with chicken with half red and half green sauce. We received a wrong order with asada and my husband thought oh well, we won't bother and it'll still be fine. But a little later he recognized it's a red sauce and I suspected we got someone else's order! And the server confirmed we did. She felt bad but we didn't have an issue because we were hungry. The staff is very kind and clearly working hard, but the system itself feels completely unorganized. It honestly feels like everyone is on their first day at the same time. Tables don't seem to be divided in a logical way. Instead of one server handling inside and another the patio, servers are running back and forth between both areas, which slows everything down. During our visit, we ordered drinks with one person, placed our food order with who I think was our actual waitress, had our food delivered by someone from the kitchen who wasn't sure which table it belonged to, got refills from someone who may have been the manager or owner, and didn't see our waitress again until we had to go ask for the check ourselves. Kitchen staff were walking out with dishes asking around to find the right table, which added to the confusion. Everyone is friendly and clearly trying their best, but the lack of organization makes the experience inefficient and a bit stressful as a customer. I would still recommend Buenos Días Cafecito if you have time and patience that day. The food really is that good, just don't come in a rush or expecting smooth service.
