Pretty good overall. About average service. The restaurant was small, but had a nice outdoor patio. It was about 4:30pm on Saturday & it was not busy so one would expect faster service. I'd say the best part was the drink. The tacos were very average, but tasty. At the end of the day it could have been better, but I'm full. I'll try and update a review my next time in Hollister. read more

First time here The place was really cute, it gave off Mexico vibe which I loved. We sat in the patio in the back which I loved. The weather was perfect and we were surrounded by plants and fresh air. The food was amazing, I got the huevos divorciados con chilaquiles and added carne asada, and let me tell you those chilaquiles were so good, the sauces was good and the consistency of the chips was perfect. Also tried the ceviche tostada, which it was okay. Definitely going back for some breakfast here. read more

El Rinconcito is the best, most authentic and flavorful Mexican restaurant in Hollister! (I may be a gringo, but I love Mexican food.) The service is great, food arrives fresh and hot, drinks are refilled, all in a timely manner. It is also reasonably priced. They allow us to sit anywhere, including a large garden section outdoors. read more

The enchiladas americanas were just ok. They were also small as were the rice and beans portions. I might have enjoyed them more if they spent a few more minutes in the oven. I'm not sure the tortillas were even cooked at all. I got the pollo in one and it was tasty. The container in my pic is small so it looks like there is more than there really is. It comes with pico, guac, lettuce and sour cream. My husband enjoyed them more than I did. Everyone was nice, everything looked clean enough. $18 for this. read more

First time ordering food from here. Got a potato with bacon and egg breakfast burrito. Was expecting something hardy that would fill me up. When I received the burrito I was like where is the rest of it lol. For $10 bucks not worth it. Flavor wise it was ok nothing special. Not impressed. Flavorless taco, uncooked tortilla, unflavored beans. I ordered shrimp tacos and the shrimp is chopped up cooked like ceviche style. Nasty! My kids tacos de asada were made from stiff cheap meat in huge chunks. Nasty food. read more

I was a little skeptical eating at this spot again since the last few times I was there my dishes did not taste as they should have, must of have been different cooks those 3 times, so I stopped going for a few years however we recently ordered to go food on a Friday and it was delicious. I had the Mariscada and it was delicious, portion wasn't as big as I remember them being but non the less it was satisfying. My girlfriend had the shrimp cocktail and she also loved her food. With that, we will be eating here again more often. read more

Waitress never came to check up on us. We were missing 2 orders of tortillas, I got up to ask them for it and the waitress said she would take it to us, we finished our food and never received them. Portions were too small for their price point. You're better off going elsewhere. read more

Came here for lunch and it was busy, so I sat outside. Waitress came with salsa and chips quickly, but when taking my order I noticed she wasn't writing anything down, and had me repeat my order several times. One wet burrito, guac and sour cream, carne asada. One Chile relleno plate. . When the food came? She forgot to place the order for the wet burrito. The Chile relleno could have been good, the plate was scorching, but the relleno was cold in the center. 4$ for an iced tea. And the scoop is f rice was extremely small. 17$ only ate half my relleno. Left zero tip. First time I've ever done that. El rinconcito is usually a guaranteed hit, but that waitress needs better training. Disappointed. read more

This unassuming restaurant is located in the same corner lot as McDonalds! I usually order the Seafood Mariscada! It is a HIT every time! My fave dish! The girls are all so lovely and sweet! The food is consistently delicious! And I know every time it will hit the spot! read more

While I really enjoy their food. I feel the service is lousy. Went there a few months ago and was shocked they charged me 6 bucks for sour cream for my fajitas. I questioned it , then the server suddenly couldn't speak English. Like who charges $6 bucks for a tablespoon of sour cream? We went there this evening and waited 15mins for water. We noticed several tables that came in after us being served before us. The server never came by to ask if we needed refills, so I stopped her while walking past us and asked for water. It literally took 15mins. I noticed she was very tentative to her own people. It's to bad cause it's a place we really like. But being treated less is bothersome so we will take our business elsewhere. read more

One of the best Mexican food places around. Very decently priced meals, decent service. Place could be a little cleaner but since the food is so good, I'll over look that fact. I guess what I'm saying is, this place is a def fav of mine. Take a look at the photos. Pics don't lie...they put care into their food from what we have seen. I'd prefer the real Mexican cheeses over the mix they use but that's a small complaint overall. Try them out. It's worth it! Enjoy! read more

Last night at El Riconsito was amazing, not only was the food amazing the customer service was phenomenal. Our hostess Estefania greeted us as soon as we walked in the door, with these times and face masks its difficult to read people's facial expression but Estefania made sure we felt safe and comfortable every minute we were there. We had quesabirria tacos with consome and the cheese would just melt with every bite. This restaurant is a must. read more

My first machaca was 20 years ago at a restaurant in downtown Hollister (could never find it again) and I was blown away about how delicious it was. This place is complete overpriced. They don't have menus and force you to scan a QT code for their online menu. This menu has no descriptions and most items are missing photos. This is a problem if you don't speak Spanish. Also really hard ordering for a family with kids this way. The server was cold and could care less if we came in. Every drink we ordered (beer and margarita) have a ton of salt inside and outside. Couldn't finish either drink. $160 for our family!!! I will not be going back. read more

Best Mexican restaurant! It took us a bit to discover this gem but it's tucked away and not only good food but good service. Drinks and food are good! Posted up to date photos of the menu. Also Saturdays they close at 7pm currently so it's a bit early but not a huge crowd. Chavelas, margaritas, the cantarito all are good! You won't be disappointed. read more

3rd visit...so this place doesn't have a lot of breakfast options especially for someone who doesn't eat pork so I tried getting a carne asada, egg and cheese burrito (not on their menu) but they dont offer subsitutions. I don't get why they couldn't just do it at a higher price(I definitely would've paid extra to eat something I actually want), instead I had to eat something else, a vegetarian cheese sandwich with burn eggs and bland potatoes. I don't care to ever come back, if i do it would only be for my honey to get menudo. This place is very underwhelming read more

Went back yesterday (11:50am) to try the dining experience for lunch. WARNING! Lunch special starts at 12:00pm. Not even a few minutes earlier. You get NO chips/salsa until after 12:00pm. The regular lunch menu is $2-3.00 more, but supposed to include salad and I would assume chips and salsa at least(?). We got no salad with our meal- and she just came back to present the check. Not happy with this type of service. Food is not exceptional enough. read more

Went here a few times during the last week. Both times we order the super burritos and nachos. The first time all the food was great. We paid just over $40 for the three items. This second time we ordered the asada nachos were a bit less on the toppings and the asada meat was way over cooked. To the point of it being burnt. It was a big disappointment after the first time of the food being great. I guess lessons learned here is to never thing that a restaurant will be consistent with their food. The cook should have been embarrassed to have served that poor quality of food. read more

Gave this place a try and the waitress Itzel who helped us was so nice. I had the Alacarta Taco birria and chicken sope and both were delicious. My husband ordered the El Rey Barril which is a chelada including prawns. He loved it! Will be back!!! read more

I have never experienced any restaurant like this. I came here with my daughter and her happy meal for lunch. the staff told me that we were not allowed to bring in outside food. we had numerous people in our party and I've never had someone tell me that my child couldn't eat their food with us as a party of five . the worker was rude and declined us service just because my daughter had a happy meal with her. I cannot believe this is happening in America with all we live for and all the chaos happening in the time of our lives. I wouldn't eat here ever . I'm sure the manager should be told about this incident, poor service at this restaurant. dont eat here read more

To start off it was our first time here, the wait time to get our food was over an hour and wasn't busy for the amount of time , this was a picture of the shrimp in the 7 mares looks rotten and smelled nasty so un safe to eat and the steak was really dry . Definitely won't be here again so not come here. read more

Saw them pulling menudo out a bag and heating it to serve OMG !! That was so disgusting if you sit inside and look at how they make the food trust you won't want to eat here !! Also the servers did not change there gloves while cleaning and handling money THE SAME DIRTY GLOVES WERE USED TO SERVE PEOPLES FOOD !! I myself left I cancelled my order even though I was starving I couldn't!! Take this as a warning sign to go elsewhere read more

When he got back and we opened the food the tray of fajitas had mostly bell peppers, definitely not enough meat for 15 people! Also don't expect the fajitas to come with tortillas apparently you have to order those separately which I didn't realize. We ended up running to the grocery store to buy tortillas. I would still recommend Buenos Días Cafecito if you have time and patience that day. The food really is that good, just don't come in a rush or expecting smooth service.

It has really gone down hill recently so it means either they've changed owners or new cooks. Now there are no Mexican restaurants left in Hollister that are decent. So disappointing because I'd say at least in the last year or more it's slowly gone downhill.

Was craving some street tacos and found this place on yelp. Hit the spot for sure. I ordered cabeza…read moreand al pastor and both were tasty. They put a lot of meat on the tacos and also have a salsa bar where you can add guacamole,salsa, onion, and cilantro. Very glad I tried this place out and will definitely be hitting this place up whenever I'm in Hollister!
