One of the queens needs to relocate to San Jose! I got the nacho fries with half carnitas and half asada. I enjoyed it with the steak better, but the carnitas was super bomb too. I took it out and made a couple of fire ass tacos later for dinner. They give you a good amount of food and their green sauce needs to be bottled and sold. The steak was seasoned so well, I was giving up hope for Mexican taquerias that don't marinate or season their meat enough. I'm not sure what is going on, but some places are really turning down on the flavor. Staff here were super nice and the place was clean. I was really tempted to get a churro from the other vendor in this location, but I can't eat too much fried food in one sitting. I'm not a spring chicken anymore, just a hefty hen lol. read more

I'm so glad I found 3 Queens! Hollister is not the place when you're hungry and looking for good food. I needed to grab a quick bite before driving an hour back to SJ. I ordered 2 carne asada tacos and the meat was perfectly marinated and filled up. They didn't skimp on the protein, onions, and cilantro. The booth next to the taco counter sold churros and desserts. My husband and I were passing through Hollister on our way home from Pinnacles and decided to stop here when I read the good reviews on the carnitas burrito. Usually I'm one for a super burrito with all the extra fillings but we decided to split a regular so we could really taste the carnitas itself. So glad we did because it was so flavorful. Very smoky which both of us liked a lot and wasn't dry. We also just loved how kind and accommodating the woman at the register was. I was craving a cold horchata but they cycle through agua fresca flavors and didn't have it today so she let us sample the triple berry cheesecake agua fresca and it was delicious so we got that too. All around glad we picked this spot after our camping adventure. Really hit the spot. Sad we don't live close otherwise we'd be back again with friends! read more

I stopped by today for lunch. Hollister had more than its fair share of Mexican restaurants/ taquerias so it has taken me a while to try this one. The server told me they expanded their menu so they have more than just carnitas, such as chile verde and "Steak". Not on the menu were Tamales. I decided to try the tamales. I chose a Jalapeño & cheese and a carnitas tamale. They came with both a green and a red sauce. I put the green sauce on the jalapeño and the red in the carnitas. I enjoyed both, but I like the carnitas one the best. The masa was thin and light and meat very moist. They are remodeling so I will not comment on the ambiance at this time read more

After reading all nice reviews we decided to give this place a try. Boy what mistake. Ordered 2 super burritos 15 dollars each. Mine had very average carnitas lots of rice some beans and sour cream. It was missing the cheese guacamole pico and onions and no salsa we asked for red salsa and received a tablespoon of something orange. They messed up my wife's also but to a lesser degree she wanted refried beans but it had whole beans. Walked in and ordered their 1LB pork carnitas and their large tray of rice. They had it ready and packed in about 5 minutes. The pork was on the saltier side, but quite tender. There was a combination of meat and fat, but it was very close to 1 pound. Their rice was pleasantly fluffy and well seasoned. I think listing 32oz "tray" is a little deceiving. I would return since both items lasted me a few meals. Hopefully the carnitas is less salty the next time around. read more

What can I say? First time getting a meal from Three Queens. I was pleasantly surprised and impressed. If you're looking for flavor this is the place. I enjoyed the taco plate and the quesadillas. Very flavorful and authentic. Even the bean and cheese burrito was good. The ambiance is street dining and it's shared with a churro establishment and is very welcoming. SERVICE AND ATMOSPHERE: Service is friendly and quick. The dining room decor is clean and simple. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. PARKING: Plenty of parking is available in the lot. IMPRESSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS: I had their carnitas nachos 3 times one week! Their full size order can be too big and the mini can be too small. So, it might help to share the full size with another person along with another dish. I would appreciate a larger scoop of guacamole though, and some times they don't give enough toppings for all the chips! Got the carnitas nachos and carnitas rice bowl with my boyfriend and the portions are nice and filling for the price. The carnitas were yummy, soft, and tender, tasted similar to carnitas served at other places. The toppings are generous. The bowl got a bit watery at the end, probably from the pico de gallo. I used the bathroom and there was no soap and when I told the worker, they just said okay. It made me wonder what their sanitation practices are there. As the name says, they specialize in carnitas. The establishment is super clean. I got a veggie bowl as I don't eat carnitas that often, but I was told that the carnitas are a bit greasier than preferred. They are good though. Veggie bowl was good. It contained two slices of avocado, lettuce, pinto beans, Mexican rice, and pico de gallo. Also got the banana ice cream fresca, which is super sweet and very banana-y. I mean.... It's "ok." I went with high expectations, given the reviews but it was nothing special. I ordered a carne asada quesadilla. The meat was too salty - bland, otherwise. The salsas... I'm not sure I could call them that (because they don't resemble any other salsa I've ever had). I tried both the red and green. They are more like "sauces." Zero kick and extremely thin, Iike water. The melon water was, again, "ok." Very little flavor but sweet enough to cover it up (I did like their ice, though - looked like they used boiled water since the chips were so clear and crispy). There is a wide array of great Mexican food in East Salinas (from whence we hail) and perhaps my bar is a little too high. The ambiance was nice. It was clean. The service was fine. This is my go to stop for a burrito. Their carnitas are absolutely amazing, which is what you'd expect from a place that ONLY serves dishes made with carnitas. If you're feeling particularly hungry and brave, tackle the nachos. They're MASSIVE and very tasty. My regular is a carnitas burrito with everything, and you're guaranteed to find my family and I there at some point about once a week. They also make fresh aqua Fresca every day in different flavors, so make sure you grab one. They'll give you a taster too to make sure you get the one you like without any guessing involved. The staff here is pretty great. Whether you call in on the phone or walk in, you're going to be treated well, and never feel like you're inconveniencing someone. That's sort of a deal with a lot of modern service jobs. It's easy to have someone treat you like you're getting in the way of their otherwise awesome group text, but you won't get that here. One small word of caution for people who have kids - they do have a Spanish music video channel playing on the TVs in there, and some of the content can be a little spicy if you catch my drift.
