Actually, an older woman bartender, who was preparing drinks for others, had to direct another bartender to serve me. The weird piece, once I starting singing (to myself) a song in Spanish that was being played on sound system, a regular started chatting with me. Then, once I started speaking Spanish, he was very friendly. I wonder if this is one of those places where folks only prefer to interact with their own at first, but all is good once they get to know you. Although no one was outwardly rude to me (at least in earshot of where I was sitting), many were not very welcoming. This feeling is something that I've experienced at another Latin bar/restaurant in this area of Wheaton.
