First time at this restaurant and the food was simply magnificent. I ordered a salad which consisted of steak and shrimp . Very hearty and filling and oh so tasty. I also tried their yellow rice which was good along with the red beans. I also tried their chicken wings which was also good and their passionfruit sangria which was also very very very good. I've only ever had takeout from here and I was really excited when I had the chance to dine in. They seem to only speak Spanish here so be patient with them! The food was delicious and I always get an order of their cheesy pandebonos. I came with some friends and we all wanted to share the mini empanadas. I thought they were tasty but a bit expensive, about a dollar per mini empanadas. I went for a thin steak but I think since it was thin, it cooks quick and so it came out a bit tough. What was great though, was the portion sizes. It was such a large plate and still had rice and maduros and I had to pack half to go. I really enjoyed their fish filet with mushroom sauce dish. Stopped for a quick bite.. boy were we pleasantly surprised! Music appropriate for the tropical feel of the restaurant. Our server Kevin was attentive and accommodating. Extremely Disappointed I don't usually write reviews, but our experience here was too frustrating to ignore. My family and I showed up hoping to enjoy a nice meal together, but because we didn't have a reservation, we were completely ignored. We were told there might be a wait of 15 to 20 minutes which we were fine with, but after 40 minutes of standing around watching other groups get seated, we realized we weren't even being considered. Not once did anyone check in with us or offer an update. The hostess was incredibly rude and dismissive almost like we were an inconvenience for even being there, to the point where other employees asked her about us and she snappe at them and told them very rudely they don't have a reservation. After being treated like we were invisible, we eventually just walked out. No one should be made to feel unwelcome or disrespected like that. There are plenty of other restaurants that actually care about their customers, this one clearly doesn't. read more

Colombian House does not disappoint. We ordered the salteado de pollo (very crispy pan fried chicken), the pechuga a la plancha, parrillada mixta and bistec con champiñones. All were fresh and tender. Note the salteado de pollo I suggest adding hot sauce to make it better as the sauce tastes like ketchup. The parilliada mixta we decided in the future we would order the entraña instead. The location is crowded on the weekends, so it might be a wait. They have their menu on their website if you want to figure out what to have. We also tried the Empanadas de Cambray which has guava and cheese, so good!! We shared an Arepa de chocolo con queso, and it was also very tasty. Our order was takeout and the portions were so big we had food left over for the next day. Ordered our drinks, frozen strawberry daiquiri & red sangria. At first thought the daiquiri didn't have any alcohol but it snuck up on me. She enjoyed her sangria. I came here for a Cinco de Mayo date night with the girlfriend. The restaurant was fairly busy, but we we're seated right away. I ordered a lemon Margarita with steak and a side of white rice. PRicans, Dominicans, etc, we just do them differently however here they were good - just enough chew in the center with a nice crisp fry around the edges. But the star ... the rice and beans ... which can wrangle with any Grandmother in the kitchen. They were very good. With rice, enough oil and flavor to give it texture, stays on a fork and isn't stuck together. The flavor of the beans, also the star. My wife and I finally decided to try this place on a Sunday around lunch time. The staff was accommodating and welcomed us in when we entered, we were seated right away. The service was prompt and everyone was very nice. They had both the breakfast menu and the lunch menu available. For an appetizer we had one pan de queso each which was full of flavor and the right amount of crunchiness and softness if that makes any sense. For entree my wife had the carne asada with rice and plantains, I had the bandeja paisa, both of these dishes were great, we both left full and still took home enough to have leftovers another day.
