Just one fourth of their pastry/baked good case.

Had some idle time and was craving a burrito. Did a search for Mexican food near me and La Yolanda popped up as a location close by. Saw someone comment on their hot food (chilaquiles and burritos) even though it appears to be a bakery. La Yolanda was about a 5-min walk so I decided to go for it. It is a place I would easily pass by without a thought. Inside is unassuming, no menus on the walls, but a few pictures near the counter with pictures of food items and prices on the pictures. Large case of delicious looking pastries and baked goodies. Eight to ten tables, half are booths along the front window. Mounted from the ceiling was one was TV from which I heard Spanish being spoken. I looked at all the baked goods, but since I was craving savory, I stuck with ordering a burrito. A soft-spoken young woman behind the counter took my order. I told her I just wanted a burrito and asked if they had chili Colorado, and if not, chicken would be great. She said she would ask in the back, took my order, I paid for the burrito ($9.99, but totaled $10.89 including tax) and she went back to the kitchen. While I waited I looked again at the baked goods and saw a sign on the case with fruit filled pastries, and decided I should try one with guava (just $1.50 each!) However, I had no idea which of them were the guava pastries, so I went back to the counter to ask for help. There was a couple who had just taken their selected pastries to the counter, so I waited to for the employee to complete the transaction with them. She then went to look at the pastries and when she came over to me, broke the bad news that all the guava pastries were gone. Another Yelp reviewer suggested ordering 10-15min ahead, I think that was good advice, and should have heeded it, but figured I'd wing it. I ended up waiting close to 15min waiting for my burrito, and was so happy to receive my order, nice and hot, from a woman who brought it to me from their kitchen. My burrito was hefty, and my stomach was growling... I didn't want to wait until I got back to my destination, so I unwrapped one end as I was walking back, and dug in. I didn't know if my burrito was chili Colorado or chicken, but at that point it didn't matter. Took a bite and found it was the former. It was good, hot, the beef was tender and nicely flavored, accompanied with refried beans, cheese and rice. I was a happy camper! I ended up polishing off half of the burrito, saving the other half for lunch. I would go back again if I am in the area. Very curious to try the guava filled pastry.

My husband has returned for the pan dulce as it's one of the closer panaderías. They have now added cabinet doors to the shelves. The pan dulce is decent and my kids like it, I still think its on the drier side. We have tried the tamales and they were super fresh and flavorful however very little meat.

Omg my grand father gets me pan dulce and coffee from here and it hits the spot every time. It reminds me of Home. When I am in Stockton La Yolanda is a must for breakfast. They have really good tamales as well!!

This is a humble restaurant but they have great food and pan dulce. One of those places that you're not sure if it will be good. It is a little rough around the edges, and the kitchen seem to be run by a single person. Still they push food out, and not just any food. Quality food.

Went to La Yolanda for dinner. Ordered chicken flautas. It's supposed to come with 2 and the sweet owner put in an extra one. They were so crispy and delicious! This place is a hidden gem. Please go in and try out their fresh and delicious menu items. Also, they offer pan dulce that smells divine when you walk in. Will definitely go again!

I'm so happy because I got my cheesecake today and it's absolutely freakin amazing. It's everything…read moreI was hoping for and more. I used to get my cheesecake fix from a restaurant in Woodbridge that made it homemade and it was very good, until the restaurant was sold and the new owners aren't continuing to sell it. Well I shouldn't say they aren't selling cheesecake because I'm not sure if they are or not, but I was told the homemade cheesecake will not be available from now on there. So I've been looking high and low, from city to city and going as far as Modesto to find a replacement. I wasn't satisfied still so as I visit new areas one of the 1st things I always check on 1st is if there is a local place that has the "best" cheesecake. I've come across some decent cheesecake but I still hadn't found one as good as my favorite cheesecake in Woodbridge. That is until I came across Jennifer. I was searching on Yelp once again and came across her Yelp page once again and thought it was time to take the plunge and contact Jennifer to order one of her cheesecakes. I hadn't called her yet because there wasn't a reason for me ordering an entire cheesecake and felt like it's a bit much to order myself an entire cheesecake. But after so many failed attempts I felt like it was time, after all maybe I can freeze it for future cravings. I let her know I love crust and was requesting a thicker one. She ended up asking me if I wanted my cheesecake to have a crust on top so that way I'd have crust on the top and bottom. I told her it sounded good and I really appreciated the fact that she took into consideration what I told her I liked. So today I got my cheesecake and I couldn't be any happier. It's creamy just like I prefer and there's definitely a lot of good crust. I'm so happy to have found Jennifer and look forward to getting more from her in the future. From what I saw on Yelp she makes really good treats. If you're looking for great cheesecake or other desserts you really don't need to look any further, I'm positive that you'll be more then happy with what you order from Jennifer. She's also very friendly and of course accommodating obviously. That's better then any bakery I've ever went to. There's nothing better then getting the exact dessert that you've been craving. Happy cheesecake eating to me. Bon Appétit

The Go-To Spot for Pastries in Stockton!…read more If you're on a quest for the best pastry and drink run in town, 85°C Bakery Cafe is our absolute favorite. While we usually skip the cakes, the fresh-baked selection and signature sips keep us coming back every time. The Haul: * 85°C Roll: It's giving Porto's vibes! Flaky, buttery, and filled with velvety cream cheese. This is a permanent resident on our "must-buy" list. * Pork Sung Bun: Taiwanese bun with shredded pork and special mayo. This is my personal favorite. * Red Bean Bread: A classic done right. Soft bread with a sweet red bean center--this is my husband's top pick! * Chocolate Cookie Bread: A chocolate lover's dream with a crunchy Oreo crumb layer. * Sugared Cream Cheese Brioche: Light, airy, and dotted with sweet cream cheese. * Taro Roll: A flaky, buttery pastry filled with a smooth, subtly sweet taro filling. * Garlic Cheese: Soft, pillowy bread topped with a punchy garlic spread and a generous layer of mozzarella. Our Signature Sips: * Sea Salt Chocolate: My go-to. It uses semi-sweet Ghirardelli chocolate topped with their classic sea salt cream. It's the perfect salty-sweet balance. * Taro Lavender Latte: My Husband's favorite. Creamy latte with steamed milk, taro, with a hint of lavender and topped with that same delicious sea salt cream. The Vibe: The staff is consistently friendly and the turnover is high, so things are usually fresh. Just keep in mind that stock depends entirely on the time of day!

*PSA*: DO NOT MISS OUT ON NIKA'S MAD SWEETS!…read more Life is short, eat dessert first! And that was exactly what I intended to do when I was blessed with the fact that Nika's IG popped up on my FYP and had me drooling at the sight of all of her delicious creations. If you've heard about the quaint local Stockton Whimsy Market, you would know that Nika and her small business that consists of her adorable family, have a booth regularly at this market. I set out to go to the next one lined up and when I arrived I made a beeline for her booth. You know something lives up to it's hype if the lines are long! To be honest, waiting in line added to the anticipation of trying out the lineup she had that evening. Her husband was the one taking orders and not only was he kind but he made great small talk. It was a nice added personal touch. I'm all about community and getting to know people so when people take the time to greet you and chat, it goes a long way. I went home with their Best Selling Award Winning Ube White Chocolate Blondie. I've been hooked ever since. Did you know that she also makes custom cakes? No? Well now you do! Nika is an absolute sweetheart! I was so nervous to reach out to her on IG for my daughter's birthday cake. I had spoken to her on IG here and there before asking and was pleasantly surprised that she's the type of small business to engage with her followers. It made it a lot easier for me to ask if she would do me the honor of making my daughters 1st professionally made themed birthday cake for her 3rd birthday. Of course she agreed and she was so wonderful during the whole process of listening to what I had envisioned for the design, whilst also giving me great ideas and even had her friend also make a beautiful cake topper for it. I went for a classic chocolate cake with a swiss meringue butter cream and it was a hit at my daughter's party! Ever since then I've actively been trying out new sweets any chance I get and have fallen in love with so many more. After the Ube White Chocolate Blondie, my next favorite would have to be her Sweet Corn Mochi! She has such a variety of desserts that you'll never get tired of what she has to offer and believe me when I say, you'll continue to consistently come back for your favorites and new creations she comes up with! I'm floored that I'm the first one to review her small business, but don't let that fool you into thinking it's not worth trying. TRUST when I say RUN do not WALK at the opportunity to grab some delicious desserts and sweets. I promise just browsing through her IG alone will seal the deal for you! Her IG handle is: @nikasmadsweets! You can't buy happiness, but you can buy desserts and that's kind of the same thing! I'm the first to review so don't come for me that this was "too long!" I'm genuinely a huge fan and supporter of this small business! .
