My husband and I started going to Sonora quest and were very pleased with the experience. Place was clean and staff friendly and efficient. My frustration is with the billing... we have been with the same insurance for 36 years and labs are at no cost. Yet we receive bills... not much but odd. Contacted billing who said insurance rejected due to co-insurance which there isn't. So it appears the billing dept is providing that. Last blood draw I confirmed with the staff that they just have the one primary insurance and she confirmed. Both Sonora and our insurance confirm that they are a network provider. I'm not going to dispute the bills, not worth it as they will turn them over to collection and harm our credit. All we can do is go elsewhere.

I was having some tests done that are not your run of the mill tests. Story goes like this... I wait an hour past my appointment time (this should have been the first red flag). Once in the back, I notice it is taking the lab tech extra long to put my lab order in the computer. I ask if everything is ok, lab tech says "yea, having a little trouble with one of these tests, can't seem to find it" (second red flag). About a minute after I ask if everything is ok the lab tech leaves the room, comes back with another lady. They are both looking at computer, tech 1 say's I'm not sure which one to use (third red flag), 2nd tech say's I think it's that one (fourth red flag). The second tech leaves, not 2 seconds later a third tech comes in, and say's that the second tech wants her to check and make sure it's the right code (fifth red flag). Finally, after an hour of waiting after my appointment and 20 minutes in the room trying to figure out what code is correct I finally get my blood drawn. Fast forward a week and half. I hadn't seen anything come through my Insurance via my portal (I have had issues with Sonora not billing my Insurance in the past), so I called Sonora, and low/behold the rep tells me "Oh, your claim is on hold pending a letter from your doctor saying that this test was needed", say what?! The rep then proceeds to tell me that the test that was put in the system is not FDA approved! My mind is blown!!! Now I know why it was taking so long for the lab tech, instead of informing me that she could not find the correct code for that test she decided to find a code that closely matched the test I was suppose to get. It's still too early to get a bill because they still have not billed my insurance. I am be proactive and letting people know. I am also filing a complaint with my insurance and the BBB. If needed I will escalate to the district attorney's office. I should not be on the hook for a lab test that is not FDA approved, I should have been informed, and given the option to opt out!

Optum says they are able to locate a report in the Lab Corp system that the lab results are still pending. Lab Corp system shows they faxed the blood report on 5-5-26 to Optum. She didn't have on closed toed shoes and was flinging them around and kept sticking her long nails in her ears and wiping it on the table and playing with her earrings. She was huffing and mumbling under her breath this second visit as well. She then continued to have an extremely rude and condescending tone when I kept mine polite and friendly. She had to give me a sticky with her email and tossed it at me. After she printed out orders that she was visibly annoyed I had to email her she yelled at me for not reading the directions and not fasting. I politely told her no problem I will come back and left crying. She is horrid and should not be dealing with patience when she is obviously so upset and angry with something and taking it out on patients. Maybe I look like someone she doesn't like or she hates her job either way 2 out of 2 times I would not recommend lab draws by her.
