The first time I arrived earlier today, I was warmly greeted and welcomed by the technician, Mary or Marie. She had a great, positive demeanor and vibe to her, as she was very pleasant, patient, personable, and attentive. She is a great source of help when you have any questions or concerns. Even though I was a walk in, she was able to take me in almost right away or instantly. No pressure and no rush. Kudos to healthcare workers like her, who make your experience not only run smoothly, but worthwhile! Thank you so much!

The waiting room was completely empty. Instead of a simple check-in or even a neutral response, the phlebotomist came out visibly angry and immediately started scolding my wife and son for being late. This is a medical setting. People come in already dealing with stress, anxiety, or health concerns. A little understanding and professionalism goes a long way. There was no reason to escalate the situation or speak to them that way, especially over a 3-minute delay with no other patients waiting. We understand schedules matter. But so does basic human decency. I hope management takes this seriously, because interactions like this can make an already stressful situation worse for patients.

They pretend to be professional and caring, but after they they have done their billing they don't care a thing about you. They don't give a hoot. If I would tell them that it's an emergency and that I'm dying, I promise you they would either hang up the phone on you or they will say something like "Our next appointment is in three weeks.." Phlebotomists not to blame, but my freakishly tiny veins. I arrived 10 minutes early, super hydrated and Latoya caught me doing jumping jacks in the waiting area to keep my blood pumping! She was thorough, methodical and very professional whilst being warm and friendly. She apologized that she had to stick me twice because the flow was so slow...no big deal whatsoever. You can book online days in advanced or even an hour before you'd like to go! It's extremely easy and convenient. Both times I went I experience little to no waiting time and was treated nicely. The staff/docs were great and caring. The second time I went for food poisoning and the PA gave me some good advice about how to introduce certain foods/proteins back into my diet slowly while my body readjusts. I recommend AFC to anyone, they accept a lot of insurances including certain Medicaid plans. Check the website for more info regarding insurance or give them a call!

Waited several minutes or more and when she finally came in, she was dismissive. She says the one test I have to send out for will be back in 24 hours and they will call me and email results. By 5pm the next day, I decided to call because I had heard nothing. I find out I'm actually positive for the flu (though they ruled it out). Overall, I wish they had been more clear about the possibility. Instead, NP was not specific about all tests and stated that what I had was likely a common cold.
