I went with my sister to assist her at a LabCorp appointment which she made for 9am. She checked in via their mobile app even though she waited in the lobby. We noticed several people taken in who did not have appointments. She then asked about her appointment at 9am. The receptionist told her she hadn't checked in and apparently this office doesn't use the mobile app or the scanner to check in. One checks in by making face to face eye contact with the receptionist. Apparently you have to be psychic to know this as there's no signage alerting a patient to their appointment process. Fifteen minutes after her appointment time, she was called in by a woman who didn't look like she was an employee because of her ill fitting smock. The woman who took her blood appeared to have slept in her clothes. After the blood draw, my sister complained about the customer service and the phlebotomist said, "Why do you come here. Don't come back." WOW!!! Also, this location in San Pedro is not very clean and presentable and is operated by equally unprofessional and rude people. I personally use LabCorp in Pasadena and have had excellent customer service from the office in the Walgreens on Lake Avenue. In fact, on my last visit there, they could not accommodate me as a "walk-in" so they directed me to a nearby Quest office that took me in immediately. My advice to my sister is to stay away from this poorly managed and maintained LabCorp facility in San Pedro and try Quest or drive to Torrance for better service. I can't imagine having rude and unfriendly people sticking a needle in my arm. read more

[Pros]: * Huge and free parking lot. * Gosh service was FAST - I did the mobile check-in and the staff at the counter called my name within 5 minutes of my appointment time. * There's an unisex restroom readily available and not all Labcorp office has an accessible restroom to use at the waiting area. * Friendly phlebotomist and staff at the front counter. * The whole process was completed in less than 15 minutes. * Out of all Labcorp locations in the South Bay, this location typically has the earliest appointment time. [Cons]: * No easy freeway access to this location and San Pedro is fairly off the way for most of the South Bay residents. [Conclusion]: Honestly I wouldn't mind driving out of my way to this location if I need more future blood draws. read more

I'm extremely disappointed with the unprofessional and rude behavior from the staff at this LabCorp location. This is supposed to be a walk-in site, yet I've come twice now and either the office was closed early or on lunch with no notice. Today, when I finally managed to come in after finding someone to watch my newborn, the staff member gave me a rude remark telling me to "just make an appointment or get a babysitter." That comment was completely unnecessary and insensitive -- not everyone has easy childcare options. As a postpartum mother who hasn't been feeling well and just needs basic bloodwork, I expected compassion and professionalism, not attitude. If appointments are now mandatory, it should be clearly posted online and at the site to save patients time and stress. This experience was incredibly disappointing, and I hope LabCorp addresses this lack of empathy and communication from their staff. read more

I always go to quest diagnostics but my doctor only works with Labcorp this is the worst Lab I've ever been to they are extremely rude and have no patience with the elderly. The only person that is nice and helpful is the African American lady in the front office (sorry I didn't get her name). If you don't have patience with people then look for another job. I've been to several of their locations for myself and clients. This was by far the nicest staff of any of them...so helpful and nice!!!! Really. It took longer than it was supposed to but I didn't mind bc they kept checking in and apologizing. They were efficient and nice. The facility was clean. Place itself is really nice and spacious enough so that you could social distance. The whole process was really quick and easy considering I was a walk in. Staff was super nice and helpful. Nena was my phlebotomist and I like how she conversed with me instead of just sticking to the routine of drawing blood. I had been holding off on taking my 6 year old to get her blood drawn per her doctor's request a few weeks ago. My daughter has phobia of needles from past experiences. But from the moment we walked in, the ladies at the front desk were so nice and welcoming, and even informed me regarding a bit of a wait as they wanted to confirm some of the tests requested by the pediatrician. Tiffany and the other lady helping her were so sweet and patient with my daughter. Despite her initial freak out after seeing the needles, they kept her distracted by talking to her and encouraging her and before you know it, she had 4 vials of blood drawn. They gave her a little sticker and praised her being so brave. My daughter felt so proud and was excited to go back to school to let her teacher know about the experience. I cringe at the thought of needles. I'm the kinda guy that has to look away when getting a shot or getting blood drawn. Total wuss I know. So when the time comes that I have to go to a place like LabCorp I am none too thrilled. That time came today. Yikes!!! I figured I would go first thing in the morning and just get it over with. Well to my surprise apparently everybody else had the same idea. I walked into a full waiting room. Ugh!! The receptionist Monique was speedy and efficient with the processing of everyones paperwork and insurance cards. When my name was called Nina sat me in the chair and was friendly and tried to put me at ease with polite conversation. I was replying as I looked the other way at the wall trying to play it off like I'm not a chicken shit but it was only obvious. I felt a small pinch and decided to man up and look down at my arm being drained of its life. That was a small victory for this big man. It was over in a matter of minutes and I survived. I have to have my blood drawn on a regular basis and have had some terrible experiences at other places. Because of that I have such terrible anxiety about having my blood drawn I can physically get sick. My first time having my blood drawn at Lab Corp in San Pedro I explained to the lady at the front desk my anxiety and she put me with Heidi for my draw. Heidi had such a gentle touch and a personality of sunshine, my anxiety is so much better. She has done my draw 5 times now and each time I feel less anxious as she is so good at it. I would highly recommend requesting Heidi if you have anxiety as I do. Everyone is extremely friendly here however and the wait is always short! read more

The only reason I gave them 2 stars is the check in staff was very friendly and helpful as was the phlebotomist that drew my blood. Other than that, her other co workers were just rude and had no bed side manner. When I walked in they said go to specific seat which I couldn't because their was still a patient with her child trying to get up. So the geniuses rudely kept telling me "go,go!" . Then I had to go to another room for a different part of the test and my phlebotomist told her coworker not to give away the seat, we would be returning. She just totally blew her off and when we returned another patient was there. I had to ask her to leave as I was returning to complete my test and another coworker rudely and quickly pointed his finger In My face and pointed to Another area. I did not budge, and when the phlebotomist returned her coworker just shrugged and said "Oh, so that's what she said" Wow, I have received better treatment taking my dogs for their shots!! So came here today to get some lab tests and to be honest I would have been in and out because there was nobody in there clinic today because it was Presidents day. Unfortunately the lab techs here are little chatter boxes and just can't help themselves so they sat and talked and talked about it being such a terrible day and how they wished they were somewhere else and yatta yatta yatta and then 25 minutes later it was time for me to take my test and then more chattering and then finally omg im finished thank goodness it wasn't more than an half an hour. Come on ladies keep it professional and get stuff over with, talk a little bit and then drop the talking when you have to get stuff done. I mean I literally sat there and listened to these women talk about how one girl got her phone broken and girls asking here how she was going to be able to get through her day without one, oh well at least thats over with. read more
