My experience at this office was great! Polite staff, fresh coffee, there was no wait AND they took care of all the paper work! :-)

We noticed several people taken in who did not have appointments. She then asked about her appointment at 9am. The receptionist told her she hadn't checked in and apparently this office doesn't use the mobile app or the scanner to check in. One checks in by making face to face eye contact with the receptionist. Apparently you have to be psychic to know this as there's no signage alerting a patient to their appointment process. Fifteen minutes after her appointment time, she was called in by a woman who didn't look like she was an employee because of her ill fitting smock. The woman who took her blood appeared to have slept in her clothes. After the blood draw, my sister complained about the customer service and the phlebotomist said, "Why do you come here. Don't come back." WOW!!! Also, this location in San Pedro is not very clean and presentable and is operated by equally unprofessional and rude people. I personally use LabCorp in Pasadena and have had excellent customer service from the office in the Walgreens on Lake Avenue. In fact, on my last visit there, they could not accommodate me as a "walk-in" so they directed me to a nearby Quest office that took me in immediately. My advice to my sister is to stay away from this poorly managed and maintained LabCorp facility in San Pedro and try Quest or drive to Torrance for better service. I can't imagine having rude and unfriendly people sticking a needle in my arm.

[Cons]: * No easy freeway access to this location and San Pedro is fairly off the way for most of the South Bay residents. [Conclusion]: Honestly I wouldn't mind driving out of my way to this location if I need more future blood draws.

I had an appointment and no one told me that I had to pull out a QR code if I had an appointment only until after I waited 40 mins just to get a routine blood draw. They need to have a better system in place. There was a lady that told me I was on the list for the appointment--NO MENTION AT ALL about a QR code. When I approached the front desk lady after I had waited, she then told me about the QR code. All the meanwhile they have a stapled list of names of people with appointments. Ridiculous. They really need to give better instructions to their patients.

I normally hate when I have to do lab work, but for my health and well being, I know it must be done. This office on 3440 Lomita, Torrance always complete my lab work with no problems. However, I had lab work completed today and the person who completed my lab work was the best I have ever had since I have been having to do lab work. She did it with ease and I felt nothing!!! I normally do not write reviews but I was so amazed at her expertise. She talk to me and made me feel real comfortable. I guess she notice that I was afraid. I was still waiting for her to put the needle in my vein until I look at my arm and seem she had already completed one tube and was on the second tube. She was awesome!! I wish I could get her every time I go but she assure me that all the ones who work in this office was great. Her name was Diane F. Well, I don't know if I am going to get Mrs. Diane F again, but I am going to really try to get her. If I don't get her next time, at least I know I will be comfortable in getting my lab work at this branch. She will definitely be on my "Christmas list". Also the receptionist at the front desk was very nice. Well, this is my Place from now on. N.C.

Do yourself a favor- just book an appointment online. I would not recommend walking-in. They do…read moretake walk-ins but its a big gamble on how long you will wait. It feels like there isn't much staff there and maybe average number of people being serviced would be maybe 2 at a time. Sometimes 3 people, but sometimes only 1 person. They also prioritize the appointments so that affects your wait as a walk-in. You may be waiting for a long time thinking that you will be next (because they have a screen of the names of the appointments of people who have checked in and the names of the people who are walk-ins), but the moment the scheduled appointment comes in, you'll have to continue waiting. Pretty much it feels like a walk-in will be seen once there is time in between appointments. Also when you have an appointment, BE ON TIME. Their check-ins are through kiosks only. There is no front desk for you to talk to someone. If you are more than 10 mins late, you pretty much lose that appointment and will be given an option to either join the walk-in queue, or if there is availability, they will offer you an option for a later appointment. And when I say be on time, that also means checking in on time because if you get there close to 10 minutes after but then take too long checking in on the kiosks, then you are over 10 minutes late and you'll lose your appointment. I saw that happen to a few other people after me. So give yourself time to check-in. The check-in process isn't complicated but I did notice some people having issues with scanning either their ID or QR code which affected them checking in timely. I was late a little over 10 minutes unfortunately because I had made the mistake of leaving my paperwork at home and had to go back for it. My appointment was at 10:20am but because I was late, it gave me the option to join the walk-in queue or take an appointment sometime after 1pm. I didn't want to make the trip all the way back there when I was already there so I decided to do the walk-in queue because there was literally only one other person ahead of me waiting for a walk-in. I spoke with that person right before they got called in and they only waited for about 30 minutes while I ended up waiting close to an hour and 45 minutes after them... So again its a big gamble and honestly just depends on the scheduled appointments. Aside from that, the location is ok. Parking is spacious and free. Location is easy to find. Staff seem friendly. I was surprised though because I rarely bruise or have issues when getting my blood drawn and although the girl seemed nice, she ended up giving me a small bruise and I noticed I bleed a lot on the cotton. Again, not my usual outcome when I get my blood taken but also wasn't a deal breaker for me since at least it didn't really hurt. Was more just surprised if anything. It seems like if you go for an appointment and arrive timely then you should be in and out in around 15 minutes. Just seriously don't be late.

Absolutely horrible experience at Quest Diagnostics in Torrance…read more There was no one available to speak with or help answer basic questions. The employees we did encounter were dismissive, rude, and acted as though patients were an inconvenience. To make matters worse, there is no bathroom available for patients--which is unbelievable for a medical laboratory where people may literally be asked to provide urine samples. The entire environment felt cold, unwelcoming, and more like a prison intake facility than a healthcare office. There was no compassion, communication, or basic customer service whatsoever. Quest is dealing with patients who may already be anxious about their health. A little professionalism and human decency should be the bare minimum. I will not return to this location and strongly recommend going elsewhere.
