The Silverside Rd. Labcorp is poorly ran. I went to this location for routine lab work. When I was called in, they claimed they never recieved lab order from my doctor. I called the doctor and they claimed they already sent it but they'll send it again. She read back the fax number and I confirmed she had the correct number. 15 minites later, they still claim they didn't recieve it. Called the doctor again and she said she has sent me the fax immediatly after I talked to her the last time. Waited 15 minites and they claim they still haven't received it. Each time I went to the window, The woman sitting at the desk said she's on the computer and to wait. She finished typing on her computer and now she won't even acknowlege I'm still at the window. Finally, she got up after I said excuse me, still ignoring me, she went in the back for about five minutes and I asked if she recieved the fax yet said she blurted out NO while having a stupid smirk on her face. By this time, I'd been there a hour. I had enough and left. While the women were loudly gabbing away, I heard profanity which was easily within earshot of the waiting room. These women are so unprofessional, I actually came to the conclusion I was probably better off them NOT poking me with a needle. This was easily the worst Labcorp I've ever been to. I had to cancel my doctor appointment because of this. read more

The lab techs at this location are amazing. I have nothing bad to say about them, but the check in and scheduling process is horrible. After checking in, the machine told me I would be notified via text when my turn was up. After an hour I returned to the lab and was told "the texting doesn't always work" So I waited for another hour, while people with appointments were seen before me. Walk ins are sent to the end of the priority line, and they should just require appointments. I wasn't told that I should re-sign in after I missed my initial call because I was waiting on a text, which extended my wait time even further. This location only had one technician administering the lab work, and it's check in system needs to be updated. read more

The staff at the front desk was extremely rude and dismissive when I first walked in. I was only here to drop a specimen off, with no one in the waiting room I still waited 30 minutes while I listened to 3 staff members talk about their personal lives instead of assisting me. read more

Great LabCorp location -- friendly and efficient staff, skilled phlebotomists that can draw blood painlessly. I got used to the kiosk check-in that simply takes a photo of your driver's license and then they call your name to come to the back. Fast in and out and get my results in an email in a day or two. read more

We05/01/24 First, the staff person at the window was fine, and the office was small but standard. This is the second car trip i have wasted to a Labcorp location. My doctor's office front desk recommended this one, although my care coordinator recommended a competitor. So, Lesson One: listen to the care coordinator first! Lesson Two: i will try to never again waste time anywhere where you can't get in without checking in with a machine. The people at the Labcorp window can't help -- they say you have to go through the kiosk. The kiosks crashed today, so they were as stuck as we were. Supposedly you can use your cell phone, but my cell phone crashes too, and today we didn't even get that far. (Maybe the cell texts move thru the kiosk software too?) Lesson 2b: don't think about cold-rebooting the kiosk by cutting its power - they can't do that, they're hard-wired in. I got to the place at 6:05 am, five minutes after they opened, 40 mins ahead of my appt., and there were already half a dozen people lined up fighting with the machines to get checked in. Lesson Two is really my main point: Labcorp is apparently trying to maximize their profit by eliminating human interaction except for the actual blood draw -- (but stay tuned - soon maybe they'll try drawing our blood via robot, too, like cows on a robo-milker!). The nice lady at the window confirmed that they do not answer their phones anymore: "None of us (locations) do". So good luck calling if you're lost/detoured trying to get there. Lesson Three, if you're still reading: when the kiosk asks you for a phone number, say you don't have one, or the kiosk may lock up (another tip overheard from the beleaguered window lady before the Big Crash). Lesson 4: If your Dr. tells you to fast for 8 hours, the kiosk (my first Labcorp location) asks if you've been fasting for twelve. This second time, I had done a dry run as a precaution, and actually got to ask a question at the window. I was told that if you answer the fasting question "no" (since you fasted for 8 instead of 12 hrs.), they will still give you the test rather than flunking you and trying to charge you for it anyway. It's the eight hours your Dr. told you that counts. (But you can't ask the kiosk about that.) And best of all - if you walk out because you have to get to work and can't wait, and the kiosk has already checked you in (got that far my first trip), and there is no human you can talk to (human to human), they won't try to charge you for a missed appt if you just go on your way. At least not yet. Reading the other (complimentary) reviews here, I figure either Labcorp is going downhill or they have been having some really bad days, at two days, two locations, in two states, that i have driven to unsuccessfully in the past two weeks. Well, I guess I can push my physical into the future --again-- and try a third time for the blood work. I feel really sad about the people ahead of me in line today, some of whom might have needed the blood work quickly because they're sick. read more

went there for routine bloodwork. yes, the waiting room is small, but i got there early and there was no waiting. They give you the option of waiting in your car by texting you when they are ready. Everyone is personable and professional. Everyone is masked up and the check in stations are easy to use, efficient and have alcohol next to them to clean. Zero COVID 19 precautions This lab has a TINY waiting room, further crowded by 3 electronic check-in stations and, weirdly, extra chairs piled up in a corner, potted plants, etc. It's impossible to keep a 6' or even a 3' distance from other visitors while checking in or waiting. Theoretically, you can choose to wait in your car, but you have to come inside to check in, and that option is not clearly presented at the check-in station. There is a sign that suggests you wipe down the check-in station, but the only wipes provided are 1" alcohol swabs, in the tiny box such swabs come in, set on a corner of the check-in desk. So the elderly and infirm patients have to spy out the little box from across the room, navigate the chair maze to fetch one, tear open the aluminum wrapping with their arthritic fingers and finally be rewarded with a square inch of alcohol dampened gauze. It's quite a sight. The door separating the waiting area from the lab area has a lever handle which can only be opened by grasping it. Again, no wipes. I suggested to the technician that they put out some wipes. Her reply was "We tried to, but the patients stole them." Of course! Silly me! The experience of having had a few light-fingered visitors clearly absolves you from any responsibility to all other patients. So, let's assume this Labcorp, that poor corporate giant, can't afford to lose a 3-pack of Lysol wipes (now available at Costco!) in an average day; are they not aware you can buy a wall mounted dispenser? Can they not remove the door lever so patients can push the door open with a shoulder? Can they not space the waiting room chairs? Clearly, I'm wound up about this, but I think for good reason: This is a HEALTH CARE FACILITY! In a PANDEMIC! As of today over 92,000 people have died in the US, over 300 in Delaware. And its obvious NO ONE in this facility has taken 10 minutes to implement, or even think about, basic safety measures. If you have a choice, go elsewhere. If you don't, bring your own wipes and wait in the car. read more

Went in to get blood taken. The needle felt like fire. 4 days later and I still have an electric shock feeling when I extend my arm. Nerve damage? This was not the case after last months blood taking at the paoli location. My advice; go somewhere else. read more

I called a day ahead of time to confirm that the office could send in a fax to a certain website for me. The lady on the phone was polite and said yes. Upon entering, I wasn't greeted or even looked at for the first 10 minutes while the woman at the desk was on the computer through the glass in front of me, not saying a word. Before even speaking to any receptionist or other staff member, my name was called and they pointed to the back for me to enter. I wasn't here to pee in a cup, I was here to speak with someone about the fax I had spoken about the day before. While trying to talk to the receptionist and explain that I was in fact sent here, another lady in a lab coat crossed her arms, and without a smile, sent me out of the office because they could not do something for me that they previously said they could. I'm sure this is a fine establishment, but customer service is very important to me. I will not come here for anything that isn't mandatory, nor for anything advisory. I had an appointment at 8:15 am and was fasting. I got there 5 minutes early and signed in. One white overweight woman was at the counter and announced she was the only one there and it would be a wait. Since I had an appointment, I sat down and waited. She called names and many had left. So, she continued down the line and took the 8:00 am appointment, another and then the name before mine on the list who had only waited 15 minutes. I had to wait an hour because she had problems with one of the patients. In the meantime, another employee entered. She was quite unpleasant as well. When they finally took me, I'm convinced the overweight white woman deliberately broke the vein in my arm. I probably shouldn't have told her I wouldn't come back. read more

Unfortunately lately I've had to have bloodwork frequently. I kept going back to the Silverside location because it is close. NO MORE. They are lazy, testy, unfriendly and more. The last time I had a blood black and blue on my arm the size of Maine. I have small veins, she said. Like am I the only person in the world who has small veins. You're the professional ... oh, maybe not. Many times I'm the only person there. Does that mean I'm in and out, zippo? Nope. They chat with each other and clearly are using personal cellphones while I sit there and wait. Believe the bad reviews, folks. read more
