On the ground floor of an office building in a Kearny Mesa industrial complex is where you will find this cafe and catering operation. The parking situation was decent with a reasonable number of open spaces for all of the businesses. The suite was quite narrow with two tables inside for seating and another one in front of the main entrance. For a small setup, the menu was rather extensive consisting of two pages each for food and drinks. Breakfast burritos, omelettes, and sandwiches were listed on one side with salads, wraps, paninis, and a soup of the day on the other side. Coffee and tea made up one of the beverage pages while smoothies and juices were shown on the other page. Even though it was already past noon, the breakfast offerings were still available. I picked an Atlantic Omelette for my takeout order. Smoked Norwegian salmon, red onions, and capers were folded inside the cooked eggs. Seasoned potatoes and wheat toast were provided as sides. The cashier also added a cup of salsa verde. The size of the omelette was good. I think more pieces of salmon would have been justified for the price. The salsa made a difference by adding some kick to the eggs. The service was efficient and pleasant. My visit to Labendi Cafe & Catering was worthy of a four star rating. read more

In addition to their terrific espresso and tea based beverage, they offer great breakfast and lunch items, not to mention delicious house made daily soups. I had the soy chorizo and eggs breakfast burrito, or also known as the huevos con chorizo breakfast burrito for $10.70. I also had a small Americano with milk for $2 and some change. The food is not only very reasonable here, but also very well made. The soy chorizo breakfast burrito came on a toasted soft flour tortilla with fluffy soft scrambled eggs, tasty soy chorizo, and a little bit of cheddar cheese. The eggs were well seasoned and delicious. The burrito was very good eating with their house green salsa. It was mild and packed with delicious flavors. The breakfast burritos come with a side of O'Brian breakfast potatoes. You can also ask them to put the potatoes in the burrito if you prefer. The potatoes were good. The Americano was well made and offered a smooth and rich flavor. The service was super welcoming and friendly. I very much enjoyed the time I spent there eating and chatting. I highly recommend this catering business, good quality food, very friendly professional people and menu very extensive. I had three different dishes for a party and everyone was amazed at the shrimp pasta along with the lasagna and pasta with veggies. Portions were very well served, they provided plates and utensils which gave it an extra touch and still had a-lot left over. They offered different dishes from Mexican to mediterranean, we decided pasta of course. We did food tasting before deciding what dishes we would select. And price is very reasonable. Let starts off with the service! As soon as I walked in I was greeted and asked how my day was going. We told the cashier we were here for training from another city and it was our first time here. She welcomed us and advised us on some of the more popular items as well as some off menu stuff. I had the California burrito with carne asada. Soooo good! I just moved into an office building across the street from Labendi's and let me tell you, this is a hidden gem! It's so convenient - you can text/call in your order so it's ready for pick up. The portions are huge, the quality of the food is amazing, there's so much variety, and the prices are so good! Definitely makes grabbing lunch or breakfast easy in the middle of the work day. So far, I've tried their Portobello Mushroom Pesto Panini, Cesar Salad, and Cobb Salad. Huge portions, and less than $11. Parking: I work across the street so I just walk over there, but if you drive over, there's plenty of parking! Customer service: the owner, Lázaro, and all the staff are super friendly! Besides their regular menu, they also have daily specials, which you can opt in to get daily text updates on what they have. A little dangerous because their specials sound delicious every day.
