    MAKE breakfast sandwich. Yum
    Alyssa S.

EDITED TO ADD: This location just opened on June 28! They are open Thursday to Sunday and closed Monday to Wednesday in Normal Heights just off Adams Avenue. (their old place was on University Ave.) *** Amazing! This is the spot but please don't overrun it during their soft opening. It's a good cause: a nonprofit employing immigrant and refugee women in a café, using produce grown at their farm in Mission Valley next to Snapdragon. It's mostly vegetarian but they have some meat choices. But more importantly, it's an amazing space with fantastic creative food. The chef came from Mabel's Gone Fishing. I came with a big group so we could try a lot. It was hard for us to decide what was our favorite! We got: BANANA CREPE WITH ALMONDS: so delicious. MAKE BREAKFAST SANDWICH: cute little delicious egg sandwich on a potato roll with very delicious homemade chips. The green sauce on the side was the one thing I didn't like. (you can get this with an added chicken patty or vegetarian with the egg GINGER RICE congee with sesame seeds, XO sauce, and soft boiled egg. Super flavorful, comforting, umami bomb. LEMON BAR: I don't like lemon and didn't try this but the people who ate it like it. CRISPY LENTIL KOFTA BOWL: really delicious little salad with falafel type crispy lentil balls FRUIT BOWL: I wouldn't get this by itself, but it was very refreshing and we split it. And all of the drinks were super tasty. We got: --House chai -- house spiced coffee (cardamom etc.) -- strawberry lemonade: kid approved! -- cold brew All the women working here were super nice too. When we got here we were the first customers, but it filled up quickly afterwards. Consider making a reservation online to give them a heads up. anyway, 5+ stars for vibe. 5+ stars for the cause. 5 stars for service And the food is amazing! Other folks can try the dishes we didn't get to and tell us how they are.

Visited MAKE Cafe over the weekend for breakfast. I had visited previously at their University Ave. location. This location is much more beautiful, the vibe flows a lot nicer with their concept. Offering both indoor and outdoor seating. Something about the space, location, and overall design gives you beach vibes. Cool. The service is great! The staff is very kind and professional. The food is fun! Different flavors, and textures. Nothing here is likely traditional to the items you are used to when you think of brunch or breakfast which is great! I mean they have the classics but with twist. I had one of their lemonades which was yummy. All in all a great place. I didn't see a single dog, so extra points from me on that end.

This meal exceeded every expectation we had for vegan cuisine. We ordered a pizza and a salad, and both were outstanding. The pizza was packed with flavor, and the crust deserves a special mention--it had the perfect texture and was so good that my husband couldn't stop talking about it. But the real star of the meal was the salad. I'm still completely bamboozled by the vegan "feta." It was tangy, rich, flavorful, and genuinely crave-worthy. We didn't leave a single leaf behind, which almost never happens. We were seated outside with cool air and plants that kept the vibe relaxed but improved the overall experience. Thank you, Donna Jean, for expanding our palates and proving just how incredible plant-based food can be. Creating dishes this satisfying and delicious without animal products is seriously impressive. We'll absolutely be back!

I ordered the Badmotorfinger pizza on the thin crust, and my friend got the same pizza on the Sicilian crust. Both were absolutely delicious, but the thin crust had the perfect balance of crispness while still letting all the flavors shine. We finished the meal with the Snickerdoodle cookie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, which was the perfect sweet ending. Everything we had was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The food exceeded our expectations, and the Wednesday special makes it an even better reason to visit. We'll definitely be back to work our way through more of the menu!

As first-timers, we weren't sure what to order, but the young woman at the front (sorry we didn't catch your name!) was incredibly welcoming. She took the time to walk us through the menu, offered thoughtful recommendations, and made us feel like regulars. That's what great customer service looks like. We ended up ordering the Asada Fries and the Fuego Burger. When our food arrived, we both looked at each other like, "Okay...this is about to be good." The presentation was on point, and thankfully, the flavors lived up to the hype. Let's just say the fries didn't stand a chance. As a business owner myself, I know that great customer service is what keeps people coming back. Pair that with delicious food, and you've got a winning combination. We'll definitely be making Evolution Fast Food a must-stop on our next trip to San Diego. Until then, we'll be dreaming about those Asada Fries!

Non vegan reviewer here…read more The fysh tacos had a nice crunch to it but lacked salt/ fishiness taste. Majority of the flavor came from the chipotle cashew cream sauce and guac. Maybe it would taste better if they added lime slices on the side. Took about 10 minutes from ordering at counter to receiving food. Most likely wouldn't order fysh tacos again. Saw a lot of people ordering dishes with fries in it. Maybe get that instead next time. There are very few tables indoor and a few tables outdoor, recommend for small groups only. Shares parking lot with Donna Jean restaurant.

We did order the chips and salsa ($7) to start and these were such crispy fresh chips. My kids My daughter got a chicken quesadilla that was easily made dairy free with vegan cheese for $2 extra. Anyone with some dietary restrictions will appreciate the vegan options galore! I tried the enchilada trio ($19) which had a fantastic mole enchilada. Great flavor and the right amount of spice. My husband tried the steak street tacos ($17) which tasted great and he was pleasantly surprised. They seem to have a great happy hour special but we were a tad early for that. I did try a margarita ($8) which was a perfect compliment to the meal. There was only one waitstaff but she was beyond attentive. Definitely recommend for quality, reasonably priced Mexican in the area ESPECIALLY if you are vegan or dairy free or even vegetarian!

So, it was AI that landed me here for lunch this past weekend. I asked for suggestions of places…read morethat focused on authenticity - not trendy. This topped the list. I was dreading parking but somehow, only went around the block once and found parking less than half a football field away. I can only guess at how bad it would be during the lunch and dinner rushes. It was metered parking but it was Sunday and IYKYK. Otherewise, read the sigs and be ready to feed the meter. Service was patient and warm. Wondered if it was a one man crew as our server, host and cashier was one person. He would be there and then he wouldn't. Left me wondering if he was also cooking or at least helping in the back of the house. It wasn't busy - my friend and I were one of three parties/tables. Not that we needed much but there was a moment when we wanted more injera ... which leads me to the food. The injera was nice and spongy - great since it's all hands on deck, no utensils. If you've never had this cuisine, know that the injera is like your plate and your utensil. Use it to soak up and grab the veggie and meat dishes but just be aware, you eat too much of it too fast, and it'll fill you up just as fast. The dishes are on the mild side as far as being spicy. I would have loved it spicier however my friend doesn't handle heat but the flavors made up for compromise of not ordering fire. We weren't able to finish it all and couldn't bring it to go as we were on the road from LA but would have gladly taken it for leftovers for another time. I would have added more seasoning and some heat to tickle my taste buds. Don't read into that - that it wasn't good - I do also appreciate when places favor less which allows me to add because if it's too heavily seasoned, diluting certain dishes is tricky and in some cases not worth it IMO. Note: if you've had this cuisine before, know that Muzita does Entrees - not combo's. One or two orders and you should be good.
