Clean and professional but the nail techs don't have lights and they don't have enough space to work. They need lights to be able to paint nails and cut cuticles. My polish was uneven and really a mess. My cuticles were not thoroughly removed. The nail tech next to mine was annoyed at rubbing elbows with mine. Way overpriced at 50 plus ten for polish removal plus tax and tip. 65 bucks for an awful gel polish manicure. I hate writing a negative review, but this was the worst, most expensive manicure of my entire life which is saying a lot consider I've been getting manicures for 30 years. After more than an hour I left with poorly filed, bumpy unevenly polished nails. Oddly they don't do gel or at least my girl didn't. So just polish. No cuticle work. No scrub. No hand massage, although I did leave with two small plastic containers one with some scrub and one with lotion and was told I could do that at home. LOL Up to the register I went and they tried to charge me $99. For a manicure with nail polish. Whoa. After a complaint they knocked it down to $70 or something close to that. I paid it and chalked it up to "it happens." Unfortunate because I can walk to this location from my condo. But I don't plan to ever go back. $80 for a basic, waterless, gel pedicure is insane!! I didn't get wax or exfoliating scrub or anything and the 5 min "massage" was actually a 2 min (max) Application of lotion. My fiend got the same service as me, only regular polish and was charged $60. They up charge $20 for gel polish!?!? That's insane!! The ladies who did our pedicures were lovely. Extremely disappointed with my experience here. The prices are some of the highest in Austin, yet the service was shockingly poor. I asked for a French pedicure, and the technician immediately told me she couldn't do it--no effort, no alternative, just a flat-out no. On top of that, they didn't even have disposable flip-flops, so I was left to either put on tennis shoes and ruin my pedicure or walk barefoot through downtown. For what they charge, you'd expect at least basic service and amenities. Definitely not worth the price, and I won't be returning. read more

I had a basic manicure. All went well until I walked out and realized that one of my nails looked like it was already grown out and polish was crooked at the base. I walked back in and asked that that one finger . They told me I would need to wait 30 minutes! Absolutely no excuse. I had just walked out of the salon. Generously giving two stars because I didn't get to have any nail service so this is entirely based on professionalism and customer service. It looked like a perfectly nice clean space based on the 5 minutes I spent there. My experience was this: I booked a few days in advance for an appointment on Friday. I received several confirmations (they have a very thorough system including sending a calendar invite). I was coming into Austin for SXSW and had a big fashion industry event I planned to wear open toed shoes for, so I needed a pedicure. I arrived Friday afternoon after flying into Austin and the front desk worker was like, yikes I tried to call you but your tech is out sick. I explained I was on a plane. They didn't have anyone else available so my appointment was cancelled. They offered me a time later in the weekend but I explained that wasn't an option, which is why I had made an appointment. I told them I didn't feel they had made a very significant effort to reach me, especially considering that they had insisted on having a card on file in case *I* was a no show, and that they had reached out to me through several means including phone, email, and a calendar invite to book the appointment. Here are some ideas for how they could have handled this better: -reached out thoroughly to give me this information. Text me! Email me! Call more than one time! -tried to make me another appointment elsewhere since this is one of the busiest weekends in Austin and they would know that places are booked -cancelled the literal calendar invitation that they sent -sent me the $$ they would have charged me had I been the no show (I'm not sure what that is, I believe 50% of the service) My takeaway is that this place charged a very premium price but doesn't have the staffing or service level to back it up. read more

I come in every few weeks for a pedicure. Dustin is amazing and meets my perfectionist expectations. I'm really picky about my nails but they do a great job every time. Ask for Dustin if you want a bomb pedi! There are two AMLI garages within a few blocks of one another so just make sure you go to the right one which is off San Jacinto and connects right to Lacquer. The manicurists at Laquer always do a nice job on my nails and the environment is serene and relaxing. I also like that I can book online. I took off a star because their manicures and pedicures are so expensive - the most I've ever paid for nails other than at a resort. Maybe their high cost is why the salon is often empty or almost empty when I go. That's so different from the typical lower-cost, high volume salons where you get a better value but have to endure loud noise and wall-to-wall people. I came here for a pampering session for my friend's bachelorette party on a Thursday night. It was pouring rain and traffic was horrendous, but despite being late to our group appointment, the staff were more than accommodating. We were offered water and tea by the staff as soon as we settled in and filling out our questionnaires regarding our nail and massage preferences as well as any possible health concerns or issues. The decor is really simple and clean and I loved the quotes hung around the wall. The seating was super comfortable which made my pedicure really enjoyable. On top of that, the staff were all about cleanliness and gave each of us a fresh tub to soak our feet. This assured us that we were not soaking our feet in the same tub multiple other customers could have been using throughout the day. They also have a huge variety of nail polish brands and colors for you to choose from. At $40, yes... the pedicure was pricey, but for the cleanliness and professionalism you get with the service it is worth it. Booked a mani/pedi for when I arrived in town for a conference. The salon is soakless...meaning they don't use water for your pedicure (or manicure) instead they use cool/warm towels. Audrey did my nails and toes and she did an amazing job! I wish I could take her back to Orlando!! I chose to get gel on my nails and regular polish on my toes. I found Lacquer on Yelp (of course) :) I was staying at JW Marriott for SXSW. My nails were really beat up and I had been on the road for weeks and needed some serious self care and attention. I called Lacquer the Sunday I came in. They were completely booked that day and I asked if they could schedule me on Tuesday afternoon. We went back-and-forth a few times with times that might work out for the both of us and we decided for 3:45 pm on Tuesday. Unlike most nail salons, you have to give all of your information including your credit card to them upon making the appointment. If you cancel within 24 hours of your appointment they will charge you 50% of the cost. Anything later than that and they will charge you full price. The great thing about it is that, when you check out of the salon - you don't have to fish for your credit card and risk ruining your nails because they already have your credit card on file. I was praying nothing would come up, work wise, to where I would need to cancel last minute so I would not be charged. Luckily, I got there right before my time and was greeted by the receptionist. She escorted me to the wall of colors. They had great selections and on the top row are designer colors such as Mark Jacobs, etc. The designer polishes were a five dollar additional charge. I ended up going with the vinyl brand that they recommended. It lasted me a week and a half and that never happens because I always do regular polish, not gel and it always chips before a week. I got the same brand on my toes but a different color. They have adorable sinks to soak your feet in. My manicurist's name was Gloria and my pedicurist's name was Rosa. Rosa was amazing. I asked her where I should go to eat that night and she recommended a bunch of different places. She also went in the back and grabbed me a bunch of Austin magazines that were for tourists and a lot of them highlighted dining experiences. My manicurist did not say much and I tried not to take it personally, you never know what's happening with someone's day. It was a little over $70 altogether including tip. It was an enjoyable experience, I needed the pampering and I even fell asleep for a little bit. No one ever asked me if I needed anything to drink and I was so thirsty for water. A lot of the nicer nail salons that I go to offer you champagne, wine, green tea, or water. Overall, if I was back in the Austin area I would probably go here again because my nails and toes did last a long time and looks great. read more
